I am a disabled, unemployed, female Army Veteran diagnosed with PTSD. My goal with having my house…read morepainted was to create a fresh space that I could comfortably live in while I continued to work on healing from my PTSD. Unfortunately, my experience with Cole Painting became disastrous. Instead of the professional, experienced, and reputable painting company that I was expecting, I discovered I was working with a hodge-podge group of amateur painters that had no knowledge, experience, direction, or supervision. Pros: -Team started quickly -Team was polite and friendly -Tim Cole (owner) offered to paint two additional closets and one cabinet interior at no additional cost Cons (Team/Process Quality): -No supervisor or foreman -No accountability -No determined workflow which led to a "musical chairs" style of work - moving from project to project throughout multiple rooms -Team members changed throughout the process -Floors and personal property inconsistently covered The result of the above is that no team member truly knew who was working on what, who had completed what, or what needed to be done next, which led to areas being partially done, poorly done, or not done at all. Also, due to the lack of supervision, I felt I needed to remain at home at all times, but due to their chaotic workflow and a lack of consideration for my ability to function in my home, I ended up being sequestered to a single room throughout the entire seven days that they were there. Prior to the completion of the job, I marked the errors and inconsistencies that I found and wanted fixed by placing painters' tape to indicate areas in need of attention: paint on the floor, cabinets incorrectly attached, poor and wavy lines in corners, paint splatter, paint drips, areas without caulk, nails painted over, holes that weren't filled, paint on fixtures and hardware, streaks, areas that were missed entirely, such as the baseboards in the bedroom, and the list goes on. They then attempted to "fix" these issues.  After the job was finished, I noticed some of the same and additional issues: Cons (Work Quality - see photos): -Paint splatter on floor -Hardware improperly re-installed -Cabinet handles with the wrong screws resulting in handles protruding from drawer/door face  -Doors no longer closing properly -Paint on cabinet handles, hardware, face plates and personal property -Flat paint used indiscriminately in inappropriate areas, i.e.: Kitchen cabinets painted half flat and half semi gloss; window trim half flat and half semi-gloss; chair rail half flat and half semi gloss; door frame half flat and half semi-gloss; and more -Not enough paint or no paint in some areas/too much paint in others -Poor paint work: lines not crisp, wavy lines, overlapping paint, streaks, visible brush strokes -- amateur quality work On the last day, Tim returned for payment. He brought receipts for paint and materials, but NO FINAL INVOICE. Tim told me three different amounts, on three different occasions, owed from these receipts. I refused payment because it was never stated in the agreement that paint and materials would be an extra cost. I assumed the agreement was all-inclusive. I paid him the agreed amount ($8,700) plus $300 to cover two closets, two cabinets and the front and back entry doors, totaling $9000.00. He did not ask for the extra payment; I decided to pay him more because I requested the extra work. Tim became agitated and argumentative because I declined payment of the receipts. Fortunately, I was not alone and had a support person with me, which kept the confrontation from escalating. He took the check and left. Once the project started I was very much impressed with how professional and knowledgeable they were. Our home is 30 years old and needed a lot of TLC on the exterior. They were so thorough and went over every square inch of the cedar, examining and repairing any areas that needed to be addressed prior to painting. From the start of the power washing/wood prep, to the end/finishing detail work with the multiple colors we chose, everything was done with precision and efficiency...which was much appreciated. Something that was also appreciated was their honesty and willingness to answer questions about the whole process. We have never had a house that required painting, they have all been vinyl siding, and so I never realized how much prep work goes into everything. We will definitely be using Meyer Painting in the future!!! - Julianna and Ryan Avila, Waterford WI

I reached out for a interior painting proposal on yelp and received several replies. Flowers Colors…read moreInterior Painting was able to get to the location soonest, which is why I chose them. What I did not like: 1. tried to call the contractor in the middle of the job instead of going back and forth on text. He stated that his phone couldn't take phone calls. After service fees and product reimbursement, I spent nearly $5,000, I really think that I am entitled to a voice-to-voice to smooth things over, and understand the painting challenges inside the house 2. A couple of times during the text messaging I didn't respond within several minutes which was met with a text like "??". Contrary to popular belief, I don't sit at my desk, staring at my phone, waiting to respond to text messages. Like many people, I leave my phone on silent as I go about my day 3. At the end of the project, the crew painted over many metal outlet covers and put them in a bucket to soak the paint off. I'm in a different state, and not able to commute to the location to perform work that I assumed fell under the contract. Further, the contractor stated that the crew was going to go back out to the location and clean it up. We did not find evidence that the clean up occurred 4. As part of the cleanup I uploaded several pictures that a different contractor sent me of the interior paint job. The cleanup was incomplete, the job was left 95% complete. That last 5% matters when selling a residential building remotely 5. Despite agreeing ahead of time that paying by check was acceptable, I ended up sending Apple payments three times. I paid the 25% down payment immediately and the two subsequent Apply payments the same day as they were requested 6. The contractor complained to me that the paint wasn't taking at the house. I advised at the very beginning that the house was a smoking/tobacco house and that I was told that the walls needed to be cleaned by Soilex, then primed, then painted, as paint doesn't stick to nicotine stained walls. I have no idea if this methodology was followed, although I assume that it was not initially followed, based on the complaint that the paint was not sticking to the walls Disappointed, not recommended

I am out of state, and dependent upon others, which is important to this review. I requested a contractor for roof repair via yelp, and received 3 contractor inquiries in a short period of time. I am fully on board with the contractor trope of "GOOD-FAST-CHEAP, You Pick 2", and this was going to have to be a FAST and GOOD job, so I was anticipating that it wasn't going to be CHEAP. I eventually settled on Buck Remodeling as they could get out to the location quickly- as in day or days, instead or weeks or month. The price was $1,000 to patch the roof in an emergency fashion and I was more than happy with the results. Most importantly, the real estate agent was able to tell prospective buyers that the roof was going to be repaired and we were under contract to have it completed. Thanks Buck Remodeling! The day before he asked for $2000 in writing and the very next day he demanded $3500 for simple repairs. Eventually, I pointed out his "BATE AND SWITCH TECHNIQUE" and I told him that he should go out to the site and review the scope of work. Sergio continued to tell me about how people have ripped him off (inapplicable to me), he kept referring to me as a "RED FLAG". His unbusiness-like demeanor was offensive, rude, hostile, aggressive and disrespectful argumentative. I questioned why the price point changed & he couldn't explain talking about how he has to pay his workers. I told him that's something that you consider before giving a quote, not afterwards. He was abusive and greedy! I told him if you misquoted that's on you. He as a business entrepreneur must honor his mistakes. I had to explain that I was going to pay his "Bate & Switch" pricing techniques and pay $2,000 today 10/21/2026 & because of the profound discrepancy I asked for $1,500 for next month due November 15th. He point blank declined based on his misquoted pricing. In summary, since I finished first in the Nation (4) times his behavior has been rude, erratic, dishonest, greedy, offensive and repeated "Red Flag" directed to a potential customer. I do not recommend GDL Remodeling as he doesn't know what he is doing, and is very offensive, dishonest, greedy and dishonest!
