He instantly knew what was done wrong, what would be needed to fix it and how long it would take, which was significantly less time than the original work we had done by someone far less experienced. Christopher and his team are clearly experts with older homes like ours and they do a phenomenal job, very detail oriented and focused on perfection. Their services are well worth it if you want the job done right! Our dining room was originally natural wood with a deep red color, which we wanted painted white to brighten up the space. The person who we hired to paint it white previously did not use the proper materials, which ended in many layers of unnecessary paint and he didn't fill in all the gaps and holes that show up when painting natural wood white, so it looked very poorly done. The original painter also didn't know what to do with the radiator that was also dark red, so it turned out completely blotchy. Christopher's team came in and had the botched paint job sanded down, the holes/cracks filled and the space prepared for spraying in just a half day. It was remarkable how much better it looked after just a few hours. When they were done after two days, it was impeccable. They came back a week later to get all the hardware reinstalled and put it all back in working order. Some additional adjustments had to be made for the built in, which they made sure were done well for proper use. They also were able to squeeze us in as quickly as possible during rain days that they couldn't do their outside jobs, which we were very grateful for given the lost time of the original job. Unfortunately, my experience with Cole Painting became disastrous. Instead of the professional, experienced, and reputable painting company that I was expecting, I discovered I was working with a hodge-podge group of amateur painters that had no knowledge, experience, direction, or supervision. Pros: -Team started quickly -Team was polite and friendly -Tim Cole (owner) offered to paint two additional closets and one cabinet interior at no additional cost Cons (Team/Process Quality): -No supervisor or foreman -No accountability -No determined workflow which led to a "musical chairs" style of work - moving from project to project throughout multiple rooms -Team members changed throughout the process -Floors and personal property inconsistently covered The result of the above is that no team member truly knew who was working on what, who had completed what, or what needed to be done next, which led to areas being partially done, poorly done, or not done at all. Also, due to the lack of supervision, I felt I needed to remain at home at all times, but due to their chaotic workflow and a lack of consideration for my ability to function in my home, I ended up being sequestered to a single room throughout the entire seven days that they were there. Prior to the completion of the job, I marked the errors and inconsistencies that I found and wanted fixed by placing painters' tape to indicate areas in need of attention: paint on the floor, cabinets incorrectly attached, poor and wavy lines in corners, paint splatter, paint drips, areas without caulk, nails painted over, holes that weren't filled, paint on fixtures and hardware, streaks, areas that were missed entirely, such as the baseboards in the bedroom, and the list goes on. They then attempted to "fix" these issues.  After the job was finished, I noticed some of the same and additional issues: Cons (Work Quality - see photos): -Paint splatter on floor -Hardware improperly re-installed -Cabinet handles with the wrong screws resulting in handles protruding from drawer/door face  -Doors no longer closing properly -Paint on cabinet handles, hardware, face plates and personal property -Flat paint used indiscriminately in inappropriate areas, i.e.: Kitchen cabinets painted half flat and half semi gloss; window trim half flat and half semi-gloss; chair rail half flat and half semi gloss; door frame half flat and half semi-gloss; and more -Not enough paint or no paint in some areas/too much paint in others -Poor paint work: lines not crisp, wavy lines, overlapping paint, streaks, visible brush strokes -- amateur quality work On the last day, Tim returned for payment. He brought receipts for paint and materials, but NO FINAL INVOICE. Tim told me three different amounts, on three different occasions, owed from these receipts. I refused payment because it was never stated in the agreement that paint and materials would be an extra cost. I assumed the agreement was all-inclusive. I paid him the agreed amount ($8,700) plus $300 to cover two closets, two cabinets and the front and back entry doors, totaling $9000.00. He did not ask for the extra payment; I decided to pay him more because I requested the extra work. Tim became agitated and argumentative because I declined payment of the receipts. Fortunately, I was not alone and had a support person with me, which kept the confrontation from escalating. He took the check and left. I DO NOT RECOMMEND COLE PAINTING! *BEWARE of the quote app, Invoice Simple, that he uses. He will text you a single link and that link will remain the same, but the quote that you'll be directed to can be adjusted at will without a paper trail or date change. Print/Save the quote as soon as you gain access to it so you have a copy of the original for comparison.

I have been dealing with this nightmare for 1 1/2 years now. I hired Two Day to paint my newly…read morepurchased house in Fall of 2024. They sent clueless subcontractors who spoke no English, and caused extensive damage to my home. Two Day has refused many requests to fix anything unless I pay them in full first - leaving my new home in horrible shape all this time. They used a wood stain(NOT rated for metal, per the MDS) on all the metal downspouts, gutters, and patio door causing immediate and extensive bubbling/peeling of the paint. A proper fix would require everything to be completely striped and redone with a properly rated product, and the labor cost of doing so would be enormous. No other contractors I talked to wanted to touch it and recommended full replacement. My quoted replacement costs for the damaged items is just shy of $25,000! Two Day is now trying to sue me for full payment plus ridiculous fees and interest, while shirking any and all responsibility. It is due to a small clause in the contract that states "All disputes will go through NARI mediation and arbitration" that they have avoided taking any responsibility thus far. What the contract doesn't say, is that going through NARI(National Association Remodeling Industry), which Two Day is a member of, requires a $2000 non-refundable upfront fee! There is no way I was going to hand over an additional $2000 to their questionably 'unbiased' member organization just to get them to fix their mistakes and satisfy the original contract. As I refused to pay the $2000, Two Day and NARI conducted some kind of kangaroo arbitration hearing without me present, refusing to allow any of my evidence of their negligence and damage. The arbitrator only heard Two Day's lies and omissions and ruled in their favor. Don't make the same mistakes I did. Stay FAR away from Two Day Painting, and for that matter anyone whose contract demands that disputes must go through NARI's $2000 Clown Court. ------------------------- Re: Garret's response on April 8th I've never worked with you Garret on this matter. You haven't been out to my house to see the results. But I think the photos paint a pretty clear picture for everyone. The fact that you can't refute any of my points is also very telling for all. Despite the weaselly way you try to reword things and frame them in your favor, it's all essentially just lies by omission. Because you know full well: 1) You used a wood-only stain on the metal parts of my house against manufacturer specifications. Your negligence here is clearly documented. 2) All of your 'generous offers' were contingent on you getting paid in full first. As if I am foolish enough to give up all my leverage and just trust a company that has already demonstrated extreme negligence and damaged my property. 3) I absolutely did NOT ever refuse to participate in the mediation or present evidence. I refused to pay a surprise $2000 non-refundable fee to NARI that was never disclosed in your contract(you REALLY should!) - and because of that I WAS BARRED from showing up and presenting any of my extensive evidence. Why would someone throw away another $2000? When the best possible outcome would be NARI forcing you to send the same terrible workers of questionable legal status back out and hoping for a better outcome this time. Your MO is clear. Promise anything verbally - do everything you can to avoid it being documented in writing. Send the cheapest bargain basement subcontractors to do a rushed job. Then use your warranty to hold over dissatisfied customers heads so they don't complain or leave you bad reviews - because they already paid you in full and they are just hoping you will show some shred of decency and professionalism and maybe fix some things. If you had any at all, you would understand that it is unethical to negligently damage someones house using improper products for the material getting painted and then demand full payment before you will even attempt to fix it. You would understand that it is unethical to just ignore multiple items that were promised in the contract and in writing that objectively and admittedly went unfulfilled - and then demand full payment. As far as me "honoring the court's decision" - you know full well no such decision has been made because the matter has yet to see a courtroom. NARI's one-sided $2000 pay-to-play arbitration hearing is not court. I hope you can reflect on this and do the right thing Garret. I'll offer you the benefit of the doubt since it's possible you were not provided full information by Eric Rauterberg. But if not, let me be clear: You are not going to get away with this

Quality of some work is questionable on siding, flashing and back porch rebuild. Gaps, caulking not…read moredone where there are gaps, house wrap exposed, new flashing not put around attic windows, uneven edges of jpanels in areas, bathroom exhaust is under the soffit not coming out like it use to and should be, new electrical outlets installed were never inspected and sounds like not to code, back porch has numerous issues, posts not in contact with cement, nails sticking out, joists not touching the support underneath, cracks in materials, some posts are movable on posts for steps, gaps between spindles are inconsistent, screws were not counter sunk leaving jagged edges. Awning or roofing over back porch was not done. We were told to deal with the awning ourselves. This was work due to hail damage, so insurance coverage. Continually told there were upgrades and they were free. We opted not to have some things repaired due to minor damage and not replacing the shutters. Told by Zach that he never trusted us, said he would put a lean on our house when we questioned the billing. We never said we wouldn't pay. He would not provide us with invoices with breakdown of materials and labor. Said he recorded some of our conversations although we believe this to be a lie, very intimidating and fear tactics used. He used all the money on so called upgrades that he continued to say were free, we don't know what they are. We did do some add ons and were pressured to replace the flashing and wrap around windows and doors after I confirmed we did not want to replace it earlier in the process. He continued to repeatedly talk about siding the entire garage when we told him right away we did not have the funding to do so at this time. He used the rest of the money for garage repairs on these supposed upgrades that again we were told were 'free'. So we have no insurance money not toward garage repairs. Another contractor says he cannot give us an estimate for roofing the back porch because the porch will not pass inspection. When questioned a few times about minor issues he immediately pulled the crew off the job. I am the main contact and doer which he seemed to not like because I am a woman. We didn't say a lot of things because we were concerned he would delay work which he did then blamed us for his crew being behind. Zach said the crew was behind schedule due to our many changes. He said they would do three sides of the house and finish the last side once the bow window was replaced. Instead he waited until late November when the window was installed. We didn't change things. He decided not do do several things he originally said he woukd do that were included in the insurance quote. He actually didn't physicalky do any of the construction work, he subcontracts. I could go on and on. The bottom line is we were taken advantage of and made the mistake of paying in full. We were told we would receive a warranty for the roofing and the certication that they are certified to do that work. We have yet to receive these items and he has not responded to our request. The only thing we got was here is your warranty without any information. ZP Construction submitted one invoice to our insurance and a different invoice to us. Our insurance adjuster has told us this is INSURANCE FRAUD. We are investigating how we should proceed with not having things done properly or not at all based on the insurance quote. Buyer beware! Thoroughly check on licenses, certifications, references, etc before employing a company.
