We had a wonderful experience with Mike and his crew of painters, and our home looks beautiful now! We had a few little snafus to deal with- Mike worked with us on some payment issues that were stemming from our recent refinance. He signed a contract with our neighbors who were skittish about allowing the crew access to their yard after a previous bad experience when another neighbors house was painted. He graciously dealt with these issues and had our house painted right on time. Pros- Very professional crew who were easy to communicate with. You could tell that painting was the career that these men had chosen and they very much cared that things were done right. Very clean. One of our neighbors recently had his house painted, and I was pretty appalled at the amount of paint chips left in our yard. Mike and his crew didn't leave behind a single stray paint chip. They were very respectful of our landscaping, and only put a ladder on something if absolutely necessary. They were done quickly, and at a very reasonable price. I'm very disappointed with this company. I had hired them to paint part of my kitchen as well as my exterior. They never follow through with my kitchen so I hired someone else to do it. The outside of my house was a total nightmare. I needed help picking out a color as I have never done this before. Our project manager was nice enough to call Sherwin-Williams and ask them what the most popular color paint- seriously I could have done that! Just like one of the previous reviews stated you never knew when these people were coming. The communication in this company is terrible. There were several things I was unhappy with and I did keep hearing from my project manager that they would take care of it. Well guess what they didn't take care of it. They broke off the furnace exhaust pipe and left it laying there but the best part of this is we brought this to the attention of the lead painter and he of course denied it. They did not pick up after themselves. For example, they left my planters in the middle of my front yard, they left their ladders in the upright position leaning up against my garage, and the wires attached to the electrical box by cable ties - they cut them and rubber banded them together, and left them there for several days. So they were no longer flushed with the side of my house and just hanging there. I have a special needs child and these were big safety concerns. Because we never knew when they were coming, my husband got frustrated and he painted the side of our house. Ironically, when I texted the project manager that my husband had just about enough and that he was out there finishing the first coat of paint the " lead" painter called and did come out the next day to finish my house. I never heard from the owner of the company until I received the bill in which there was a $100 "inconvenience fee". Again, mind you that they broke my exhaust pipe off of my furnace, my husband painted the side of my house, oh and I forgot to mention that they power washed not only my siding but all of my windows as well ( 13 of them to be exact) so when the bill came and I saw a $100 "inconvenience fee" needless to say I was not happy. The owner did call and listened to me for 45 minutes. He did compensate us with window cleaning services and another $150 credit - which says for labor of my husband painting the side of the house but nothing for the my exhaust pipe to my furnace (which entails removing deck boards and replacing the PVC piping- very frustrating)! So if you want to paint your own house and be extremely frustrated then I would say hire them. To be honest I shopped around and this company was right in the middle of the road pricing wise but it would have been worth it too me to save myself all of this aggravation. read more

Working with Colorwheel LLC has been nothing less than a disaster! We are so disappointed that we ever worked with Colorwheel LLC, as having someone paint and repair our home was supposed to make life easier to move into our new home and prepare for a new baby. Instead it has added so much unnecessary stress and missed work due to the amount of times we had to continuously meet with Mike and his team because the job was not completed properly the first, second, third, etc. time. We hope that this can be resolved fairly as Mike Madsen of Colorwheel LLC has been far from fair or professional throughout this entire process, and we are now left with a home looking worse than before we ever let him into it. read more

We had the Colorwheel team paint our kitchen cabinets and center island. They were all very professional, thorough and easy to work with. I can't say enough about the quality of the work. They were very meticulous with the details. We had 22 year old cabinets and they look better than new. Would recommend them highly. Disappointed in my brief interaction. I don't want to give them a low star rating for the painting because I didn't get that far. Disappointed in the lack of communication to get an estimate and then the estimate came in over double the quote we got from a company we already knew was expensive already. Worst of all, they were hesitant to even come out when we told them we were having the painting done because we were selling our house. Immediately when they heard this I could tell they assumed we didn't want to spend much. I can't say this for sure, but have a feeling they inflated the estimate knowing I'd decline having them come out to measure for a more in depth quote. Only reason I'm not giving 1 star is because I didn't get to see their final product and don't want to pull their score down that much because maybe, despite the poor interaction I had, their painting may be excellent. read more

ColorWheel Painting just completed an interior painting project at our Whitefish Bay home and we could not be more pleased! The week long job included various room types, ceilings and walls, detail work, and entryway work, as well as multiple paint matching challenges. Mike and his crew were truly professional and met every one of these (sometime challenging) aspects of the job. Mike's detailed bid guided the three person crew who arrived each day right on time. The prep work included great care protecting floors and furnishings along with relying on Frog Tape to insure proper borders. When a additional (minor) piece was added to the job, Mike was quick to respond, he gave me a verbal estimate of the cost, and kept to his word. Upon completion, there were a few tiny details we noticed that needed to be taken care of and ColorWheel sent one of the crew members to handle it the same day. Mike then came out the very next day to inspect and approve the full completion of the job. Based only on our one experience with ColorWheel, I do not know if everyone will have the same stellar experience that we did, but we can truly state that it was the best home improvement scenario that we could have asked for. Wow I just read your reply Mike. I'm not gonna get into he said -she said. I do have pictures and I would be happy to post them. FYI -They were "live" electrical wires not my "TV"wires. (Have pictures of that to as well as the ladder that was on the side of my garage. Not sure why you said I don't go on the side of my house... we have a fire pit right over there and I am not sure where you're getting your facts from as you never came to my house). Also your comment about the interior of my home (kitchen) well the funny thing is I do have a contract for that - (and would be happy to post that as well). I believe you told me you were not sure why that was not followed up on and we're going to look into that... The point here Mike was my time is valuable too. Yes, some people you just can't make happy ( just like you told me about the other customers that were not happy either- maybe there is a pattern here) but in this case my time was valuable too and should have been compensated for all of these "inconvenience".
