Went here on a Thursday for lunch and oh my, soo enjoyable. 1pm and we were seated right away. We aimed for only dim sum. You get a dim sum menu that you can mark up the quantity you want and they will bring it out. Their original dim sum items were a hit with us. Har gow - must x2 Shrimp rice paper in sauce - amazing. Shu Mai - yes! Fried Fish fillet in salt and pepper - a must Spareribs - so flavorful We tried a few others and it was not that good. Bbq crispy pork - it was quite chewy and skin was not crispy. Green beans - were a bit overcooked Fried har gow - doughy. Great service and very attentive workers. They offered us a lobster for $30 as we ordered over $30 of food. We had too much food to take them on this offer but if we come back, this is a must. Clean restaurant and plenty of parking in the front and side.
I've been coming to Rainbow Kitchen for years, and I can't believe I'm only now getting around to writing a review. If you're looking for authentic Chinese food, this is one of my favorite spots. They consistently offer fresh seafood, including live fish, lobster, and crab. Our go-to order always includes: * Dungeness crab with ginger and scallions -- incredibly fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. * Salt and pepper calamari -- crispy, well-seasoned, and absolutely delicious. * Ong choy with garlic -- fresh, simple, and packed with flavor. We usually pair our meal with a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. The owner is a true wine enthusiast and always has an excellent selection at very reasonable prices, without the typical restaurant markup. The best part? They allow BYOB with no corkage fee, which is a rare and much-appreciated bonus. Rainbow Kitchen has been a longtime favorite of ours, and we always leave happy. Highly recommended!
I'm saddened with my order today. I really like Rainbow Kitchen I have never been disappointed with their food ever until today. The Salt n Pepper Pork Chops were cooked to death like a jerky it was bland no salt n pepper whatsoever and super thin and hard to eat. The salted fish n chicken fried rice just as bland even with the salted fish added almost as if they were stingy with the salted fish. I give them 1 Star today for the disappoint. Everyone has their days and maybe today whoever cooked my food was having theirs. I will absolutely give them another chance but if it does happen again like today, I will not be back. (I've been ordering from there over 5years now)
Ordered food for takeout and it was still piping hot when I got home 30 minutes later. Service was fast as we called the order in when we were on our way already. Great touch separating the sauce from the noodles. Extremely flavorful sauce too, by the way. The kung pao chicken was also perfectly portioned. I first thought $40 for this entire meal was a bit steep, but the portions and flavor definitely made up for it (the rice was a nice touch too). The inside was very clean and I definitely would dine here again.
We arrived at 10:50 and there was a line out the door being an avid dim sum aficionado and eating it every Sunday for the last 30+ years throughout the world has really elevated my taste. One thing I like besides the incredible service is the quality of the food. The products they use and that this is actually one of the healthiest dim sum I've ever eaten with less added fats, salts, or MSG. If you love dim sum like I do and your health conscience and worry about fitness and what you're putting into your body this is the place you definitely have to go to
Love coming here for dim sum lunch. It's close to my house and big restaurant for a lot of people too. We waited only about 10 min for the 2 of us to get seated. We ordered tangerine beef rice rolls, eggplant stuffed with shrimp paste, and salt n pepper fish. We also ordered oolong tea as well. Tea is $1.88 a person. Everything came out hot and fresh. The eggplant portion was really big and perfect to share. They cut them in halves. The salt n pepper fish had lot of fried garlic, green onion, and jalapenos for flavor. I like how the batter wasn't too thick and oily as well. The tangerine beef rice rolls didn't have too much tangerine flavor as before but still delicious. They have a lot of items on their menu worth trying. They have duck, seafood, noodles, and some dessert dim sum to try as well. Looking forward to coming back to try more items with more people.
Been coming here for years and its been always a go to spot! We've dine in and take out. Restaurant is decent size and it can accommodate bug parties. They can get busy. Their menu is has so many of our faves! Service - most of the time is great. This visit we ordered BBQ Pork, Roast Pig, Peking Pork, Salt N Pepper pork chops, Beef chow fun, salt and pepper pork chops and Braised tofu and veg. It's been a while since we've ate here and it was just as good as I remembered.Def worth a place to check out- esp dinner! Havent had dim sun here in a minute but im sure its just as good!
This place has been on my list to try for quite a while. Finally made it in. It's 2pm and 103 degrees and I want soup! Hot n Sour soup. Since my previous favorite place closed, it's been difficult to find it without meat or seafood. I usually ask for it extra spicy but I saw chili oil and white pepper on the table, so I opted not to ask. Good thing I didn't! It's perfectly hot the way it is. It's think the way it should be with beautiful ribbons of egg. I didn't care for their choice of mushroom, easy enough to avoid. Instead of tofu, they use wheat noodles which was a nice change. It comes in a huge bowl, so I will have plenty to take home. The server was kind and ladled into a smaller bowl for me. There are about 15 tables, ranging from a table for two to rounds for 8. On this particular day, every patron was Chinese! That's when you know it's authentic. I didn't care not know they serve dim sum, so I will be back for that.
Busy restaurant for a great dim sum! Went Sunday and this place was packed! Been before for dim sum and definitely this one hits the spot! Pro tip, if you want their baked BBQ BUNS, get there early. By 12:30, there were none left to purchase. They are super delish, and was disappointed we didn't get them. For the yummies we did get, Yass, everything was super, hot and served fast! Would recommend this place, but there could be a wait for tables, esp if you have big a big groups. This is a checklist style of dimsum, no carts. I leave my order in the photos, to give a guide line. Pretty standard order, nothing too strange. Standouts are the eggplant stuffed with shrimp and the taro puffs.
The Peking duck was an absolutely unforgettable experience from start to finish. The presentation alone was impressive--crispy golden skin carved tableside with precision, followed by tender, juicy slices of duck that practically melted in every bite. The highlight was the contrast in textures: the skin was perfectly crisp and rich, while the meat stayed incredibly soft and flavorful. Each piece was wrapped in warm pancakes with fresh cucumber, scallions, and a delicate hoisin sauce that balanced everything beautifully without overpowering the duck.
This restaurant should get more spotlight on it's authentic and great quality dim sum! Forget about the "wannabe" so called dim sum places on the strip. Really people come here for the dim sum fixes. Also. I'm calling out those AYCE dim sum and Chinese place for feeding us frozen/leftover like dim sums. You have nothing compare to this restaurant! To be honest, I'm surprised about the good quality and how much they stick to the traditional flavors. All the items we ordered are pretty tasty. If it needs to be crunchy, it's crunchy. If it needs to have lava-like salty egg yolk inside the bun, it has exactly what you are expecting! The service is awesome too. They check on the pot often and refill it. They even charge plates once. Wow! I never experienced this level of service unless it's a very nice Chinese restaurant. This restaurant deserves better and more reviews. My friends and I are looking forward to come back.
Rainbow Kitchen is now my go-to spot for dim sum and dumplings in SW Las Vegas! Nestled in a strip mall on Rainbow Blvd, this casual Cantonese restaurant serves truly fresh, made-to-order dim sum with no carts, just impeccable quality. Highlights include crispy dumplings pear shape (but tbh I call them DUCKLINGS lol) and the porridge. They serve it for you and you just eat. The portions are generous and bursting with flavor. The restaurant is spotlessly clean, with friendly, attentive staff (I love how they employ older gen staff and they are all SUPER NICE), a refreshing change from the chaos of Chinatown. I'm now a regular!
I have been craving for Chinese food. I saw this on TikTok and it looks good. We went to check it out. It wasn't busy when we got there so we got seated right away. The service was okay. The food was okay. We ordered a lot to tryout including my takeout shrimp with scrambled eggs.

Good Hong Kong Cantonese style restaurant. We came here for dinner and ate family style (communal dishes). They have place settings with 2 pairs of chopsticks, one for eating (black pair) and one for picking up the communal food item (black pair). Food was good, not greasy and not salty, just the right flavor and smell. Service was attentive as they were not too busy when we were there. I would go back again read more

Servers are gracious hosts, clean areas, food is amazing, not salty and none of that feeling of dizziness after eating chinese food. This is our 4th time eating here.Highly recommended, authentic chinese cuisine. read more
Needed a quick bite before going to a show and decided to come back to try their rice porridge. We had their fish porridge and beef chow fun, and both were very solid and authentic. It's good to know of this place that stays open between lunch and dinner. Again, our server was very attentive and courteous. Prices were good especially since there's a 10% discount for paying cash. read more

First time trying food from this restaurant. I've been hearing and seeing good reviews so we decided to give it a try. We chose a few of our favorite dishes and we all agreed everything was really good! Definitely recommend this place for some good eats! Wow, how was this place even recommended? The service here is truly non-existent yet they're expecting 18% and some. While I do appreciate the random luxuries of having 2 sets of chopsticks and a candle tea light to continuously keep the tea warm, it is not enough to make up for their poor attitude and service. We were the only ones to arrive and they did not even acknowledge us or try to sit us. One waitress was sleeping in the booth. Secondly, when collecting the tip, the waitress immediately opened it up to make sure it was sufficient. My dad requested a disposable liquid cup container for our leftover food and they refused to provide this to us as it appeared to be an absurd request. Instead of asking why, she flat out denied us. They even charge a $1 disinfection fee-- Like to clean your own supplies like any place would? What are you doing that's special than elsewhere? I would not come back again. I frequent Chinese restaurants often (626 native) and I know service is not the best..... but this is one of the lowest experiences I had. If Vegas depends on tourism, this restaurant doesn't exemplify it. read more

The food here is really good and fresh. We come for their dim sum and it's cooked to order. We come every Sunday after church. It's our go to spot. They have a great selection. It's always packed first thing when they open. Their hot tea is brewed nicely as well. Waiters are very attentive and friendly. Ambiance is inviting. read more

Friends took us here for the first time. It was AMAZING!! We got there when they opened at 11am, all the tables were full by 11:15! The restaurant was clean and inviting. Our table had a lazy Susan in the middle which was fabulous since we had 6 people and so many different items to enjoy! Eveeything we ordered was delish!!! Service was great, very attentive and we didn't want for anything! Give it a try, you wknt be disappointed!! read more
I tried Rainbow Kitchen a couple weeks ago while in Vegas and unfortunately was not particularly impressed with the food here. We stopped by around 7p on a Tuesday night and there were only a few other groups so our party of 9 was seated immediately when we got there. Staff was nice enough and there was plenty of parking in front. We ordered about 10 dishes to split family style and while it wasn't horrible, it certainly wasn't good either - most of the dishes were over salted and the meat quality was overall poor. read more

My brother recommended this restaurant to us. This was not here 5 years ago when we lived here. I have not had a really good Chinese restaurant since Hong Kong Garden burned down on Spring Mt. & Jones. We ordered the seafood pan fried noodles. The gravy was good and all the seafood and vegetables were tender. That only bad thing was that they didn't give you enough gravy which left the noodles dry. We also ordered fried green beans. These were breaded and was seasoned with garlic. It was a unique dish which we quite enjoyed Eggplant in black bean sauce with fish was a really good choice. The pieces of was cooked perfectly with no crunchy pieces. The only con was we couldn't find the fish pieces. We could taste it, just couldn't see them We ordered orange beef but received orange chicken. Good dish if you want American Chinese, but was not what we were looking for. The Walnut shrimp had too much mayonnaise and was not sweet enough. The shrimp pieces were good sizes. The star of the dinner was the beef chow fun! This had tender pieces of beef with smoked sesame oil flavoring and just the right amount of soy sauce. This is one dish I would recommend. Everything we had here was good. The only bad thing is that there dishes had small portions. However, I'd rather pay for quality than quantity. read more
This might be one of the better "authentic" Chinese restaurants in town. Some of their dishes are so unique and outstanding, while there are ones that are falling a bit short. You're in and out fast. The service is quick. Weekend morning/brunch time around 10a.m. has a line that's about 30 minutes, and mostly Chinese people. So you know it's the real deal. Memorable dishes- Crispy fried turnip cake- 5/5 stars. Sounds nasty, but IYKYK. It's so good, especially if you're a turnip cake fan at the dim sum, then this will semi-blow your mind. I had to ask the lady to describe the dish since I had never had it and most of it is in Chinese I can't even keep up with the menu. Chive dumpling- 2.5/5 stars. It was below average than other chive dumplings. Walnut shrimp- 4/5 stars. I mean, shrimp and mayo with candied walnuts? Messing this up is kinda hard. Chicken and shrimp xiaomai- 3/5 stars. I was bummed out they had no pork shumai, since it's my fave. IT was good. BBQ pork bun- 3/5 stars. Chow mein- 2/5 stars. It was lacking in flavor. I'd pass. Roast Duck- 4/5 stars. It was so greasy but cooked to perfection and had great flavor. Garlic tips sautéed in garlic- 5/5 stars. It was so good, I couldn't stop thinking about this dish for weeks. Went back a month later and was told it was out of season and no longer available. But, this is the standout dish for me. HK crispy noodle- 3/5 stars. It didn't have enough MSG for me. So, probably healthy and good for those who have a healthier taste bud. Hainan chicken- 3/5 stars. Don't come for me on the spelling here. Definitely didn't stand out and have had better in Alhambra, CA. Red bean mochi ball thing- 3.5/5 stars. I love this stuff. But for some reason, it was an OK here. read more

On a trip last year we had lunch here while in town. Since we had a big group we decided to try this Chinese restaurant for dinner for our group of 8. The waitress was really nice although the service was really slow. We had to wait like 10-15 min before they came to take our order. It was on the busier side and I did see several take out orders on the table beside us. I think it took between 30-40 minutes before we got our first dish which was the House special steamed chicken. We ordered a whole chicken but they came to tell us later that they didn't have a whole chicken, only half. The rest of the food came out slowly one by one. Overall the food was just okay. In comparison to Chinese food in Monterey Park it was not as flavorful. The string beans were too salty but they had a good crisp. The beef chow fun had a bit of a burnt taste. The steamed chicken was pretty good. The braised tofu was also good. The sweet and sour chicken and seafood Chow mein were not bad. For large familes/groups, this place is not a bad choice but just be aware that it won't be a quick meal. Parking is plentiful in the plaza, too, so that is a plus. read more

In our continuing search for good Chinese food, and at the suggestion of others, we decided to check out this place although it'a a good half-hour drive from where we live. First, it's always nice to be able to find a parking space. Absolutely no hassle. Second, the restaurant itself was bright and cheerful, and it looked really clean. There were several diners who were leaving and immediately, there's a staff cleaning the tables to get them ready for new diners. A man in a vest was constantly walking around, chatting with people, and it appeared he was checking in on everything around him. There was not a gaggle of servers talking among themselves. Everyone was hustling! We ordered Singapore noodles, fish with black bean sauce and for appetizer jelly fish with shredded chicken. I always think that if they can make this appetizer well, then it's a good sign. And they did The serving that was so generous we were able to take some home to enjoy the next day. The fish was perfectly cooked, it was really moist and seasoned well. The noodles were slightly dry but the shrimp with the noodles, like the fish, was perfectly cooked, plump and scrumptious. We liked that the staff was very attentive and that made this trip so well worth it. Why 4 stars? Well....because of the Singapore noodles --- it was tasty but not the best we've ever had. But we're willing to try other dishes. For now, we enjoyed our meal. read more

Rainbow kitchen serves the best dim sum in town. They have their own dim sum chefs and made dim sum fresh daily. They are all very delicious & unique unlike from other restaurants in town. Most Chinese restaurants nowadays bought dim sum from "dim sum factory" since hiring dim sum chef is hard. The servers are very attentive and helpful. They came to check on us & and refill our tea periodically. We love their secret chef menu. However you need to pre order it couple hours ahead of time or a day before for preparation. Their dishes are very unique and always hold a high standard. I never have any bad dishes, always present dining experience! read more

I asked @LasVegasFill 'where's some great dimsum?' and he quickly replied with this location, which I'd already bookmarked :) Arrived on a friday, about 2pm, restaurant was about half full. From across the room they waved to us to take a seat in a booth. Some menus were dropped off and a clipboard with paper menu for ordering dimsum. So I dont know if they do the 'cart thing' when its busier or not. I posted the paper menu for others, there is a secret decoder with a symbol indicating the price (we didnt figure this out till after). The menu is pretty substantial. We ordered hot tea and water. The tea is delivered in a pot with the tea leaves steeping inside, and they brought us an extra pot of hot water to add to it (it gets stronger, alot stronger). There is also a nifty candle platform if you want to keep it hot. We ordered lots of shrimp balls, glutinous rice in tea leaves, sausage buns, gai lan w/oyster, shu mai, sesame balls. One of the shrimp ball concoctions came with XO sauce. The XO sauce is a dried shrimp/spice concoction that is super delicious but spicy. Mmmm. They even sell it. The shu-mai were bigger than most, and delicious. The gai-lan serving, perfectly cooked, was enormous (enough for 4 people or more), my only complaint here is that I wish I could get a 1/2 serving, I hated leaving food on the table. The service was impeccable, friendly and they were especially helpful when I asked about things like the XO sauce. Great food, classy digs, friendly quick service, yeah we got 5 stars here. Cant wait to come back next visit to Vegas. read more

The Husband went by today to get a Whole Roast Duck to go. The price went up to $31.99 now. It usually came with rice but this time they did not pack any. When my Husband asked about it, they reluctantly packed him a smaller box of it. We also love the duck jus for our rice and duck and always request this and decline the standard plum sauce that typically accompanies roast duck. My Husband asked for a couple more of the duck jus to go and when he got home, I noticed it was the plum sauce instead. I called to let them know about the error and asked if we could come back to get more of the duck jus instead. The man who answered spoke to a lady and he said they gave us 3 duck jus containers and 1 plum. I told him I was looking at the containers and this was not the case. It was very challenging just to get more duck jus when this was never an issue before. I'm not sure if this was the owner or not on the phone, but it was such a different experience from when we visited during COVID and picked up our Roast Duck then. I understand the pricing can go up, but not including rice anymore is unfortunate. And then becoming argumentative over some sauce isn't great for customer service. We notice how busy they are and have been wanting to try their dim sum, but will need to re-evaluate that based on this experience. read more

This was an absolute best choice of places to eat on Father's Day! My husband has been here with coworkers and had been wanting to bring the family here for sometime. I was so impressed with everything! We waited a short time to be seated. The restaurant was full- good indication of a fine experience. We ordered all of our favorite dishes, (see pictures) but my favorite dish was the roasted crispy pork. I could have eaten that whole dish myself. All dishes were family style. My next favorite dish was the beef chow fun- the fat wide noodles were so good and my son has now discovered his favorite noodle. The best part about this experience was that for feeding a party of 9, our ticket was extremely reasonable! We left a good tip for the swift and friendly service as well. Our water was regularly topped off and our tea was well steeped. We WILL be back! read more
