City Pets isn't like other pet stores, sure there are animals inside but I haven't ever seen any puppies and I've seen kittens there once - and that was a couple of years ago. City Pets has rabbits, guinea pigs, fish and birds. What City Pets is good for is stocking up on supplies for your companion. Enormous mounds of dog and cat food, beds and travel houses of all shapes and colours, and a deli devoted to different bones and catnip mice are all found here. The staff there are pretty friendly and don't seem to mind if you just have a browse through the stock and check out the animals. There are also some mice and hermit crabs up the back and City Pets always seems to have a great little range of canaries, finches and budgies.

So I placed the order then got a call asking if I was picking it up. Very shirty attitude from the person. Told me it would cost me another $200 to ship. Already paying almost $700. I wasn't happy (who would be?) but not abusive and was going to talk to the person about a pick up when he said "I'll refund your money" in such a way it was clear this was his preference. So I simply said...ok. Never will set foot in that shop nor order anything nor recommend to anyone. Hope it was worth the attitude.

The…read morecages are filthy, tiny, completely bare and lack any of the basic items for bird care (toys, cuttlefish. etc.). The birds are crammed in together, in some places there are 5 or 6 birds in one small cage. The birds are obviously not well cared for, many of them have feathers and tails that are tatty or missing. When I was there today one budgie's tail was gone, there was what looked like some blood on its back and it was very puffed up like it was sick or hurt. Don't bother supporting this place with your business.
