This is a great pet shop. It has everything & the DIY dog bath is fantastic (allow about $10).

This place opened only recently and safe to say our dog hates it but we love it. It has a DIY dog…read morewash station, which has been a godsend for us. Our dog is a big boxer and trying to wash him at home is super difficult. He either jumps out of the bath or runs away from the hose in the backyard, either way it is a total pain in the you-know-where. The Happy Pet Company has a bath with nice high sides and plenty of washing settings in the hose. It is operated with coins so make sure to bring plenty of gold. It generally costs us around $8 to give him a thorough scrubbing and about $5 for a lazy wash. The shop itself also sells dog treats, dog food, toys and bedding. They offer dog washing and grooming as well but this is a little expensive for my budget. Be careful if you come here with a big dog as there are often dogs all over the place. Our dog loves 'socialising' with other dogs but sadly others don't like being pinned to the floor with a big paw. For this reason I always go early in the morning to avoid the crowds.

This place is just great. I found on each occasion I've been the staff to be highly knowledgeable…read moreand helpful. They keep a record of what food you buy your dog and because of their advice his skin condition has completely vanished, his coat is shinier and he is just a happier little dude. I'm so happy they were able to help in a natural way :-) I found the prices to be competitive and fair also with a great range of natural treats. Plus they don't get upset when your dog pees on the floor... thanks guys!

The y also stock food, treats and essentials for your pet, and the staff are always happy to help out with any questions you may have. One thing I love here is the giant Maccaw that sits near the bird section. He is massive, and I am tempted every time to buy him and take him home. That is until he lets out his huge squawk, and I realize that I do want to be on good terms with my neighbours.

Fish & Feather is a pet store on Colchester Road bordering Kilsyth and Bayswater North. We've been…read morein a couple times, and while the staff is friendly and they stock a huge amount of pet supplies, I wonder if it's too much. The last time we were in, there were two really sad looking labrador puppies for sale and their enclosure looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. They also had four manx DSH kittens in an enclosure right next to the puppies and the kittens too were trying to deal with a cramped, filthy space. It was a warm day and there was no air conditioning for the animals. We bought a cat carrier from them a few months ago and the cage itself was covered in a thick layer of dust that they didn't even offer to clean. I had to clean it before putting our cat in it for her vet trip. Most the birds in their massive enclosure look extremely distressed and some were plucking their feathers out. I'm not happy that they're outright selling dog and cat breeds, combined with their lack of cleanliness and state of the animals they have on display. I don't care to support shops who practice business in these conditions. The only saving grace is their stock is massive and their staff are friendly enough.

Claws N Paws Pet Supplies - Family Business

Claws'N'Paws is such a great little pet shop, I hardly know where to begin…read more We went in one day to browse, buy some litter and food, and spotted an adult male for adoption by Animal Aid. What I love about this pet shop, is after a nice chat with the manager, we learned he refuses to display kittens or backyard breeder cats "for sale" and rather, helps Animal Aid with adult cat rescue adoptees that need forever homes. After meeting with little Dante, we adopted him and he has been the sweetest cat. They welcome dogs on leashes into their stores, cater to dogs, cats, birds and fish. They offer grooming and classes. They also offer some really good loyalty rewards for repeat business and you can tell they're passionate about pets and pet care. They have several business and pet industry awards and it shows. Another chain pet store has opened up across the street, so I hope that doesn't hurt Claws'N'Paws' business. If you're in the area, please go visit them!

This would have to be one of the friendliest and most customer service-oriented pet store I have…read moreever shopped at. Not only that, the staff seem to know their stuff when it comes to asking questions about products, and often they have a personal anecdote and recommendation about what they do for their own pets. I've got a decent number of pets - two Bengal cats, a fairly young puppy, and a turtle named Neil. As you would imagine, I spend a bit of cash when it comes to looking after them all. Since Petstock opened in Vermont South, they've saved me a small fortune - as much as 25% on some items, and that's not on sale either. And thanks to them, Neil gets a steady stream of feeder fish instead of (or sometimes in addition to) those horrible frozen fish pellets. Neil likes the fish so much that he's adopted two of them, and one of those is now nearly big enough to need his own tank. If you're a breeder of domestic pets (my wife and I used to breed Bengals), they stock super large bags (like 15-25kg) of cat and dog food, and if they don't have it, they're happy to order it in. They also offer services like puppy school, and they have a good rewards program for loyal customers.

Since I've had a puppy, I've been buying her food at this shop and it's all been a bit of an adventure. See, she's a fussy little bitch. It has taken about five different types of dry dog food before she's found one that she likes. That would normally be a massively expensive exercise, considering I'm buying the good stuff. But Petstock Vermont South has been extremely helpful. All I need to do is return the opened package and they'll exchange it without cost to me (except when there's a price differential). They'e made me quite a fan. That is customer service.
