Such a cool place to see a venue! My husband and I had such a good time. The chairs were comfortable. Cocktail service included. And bathrooms were clean and very close. The bar was full bar however I only drink wine and the only wine they had was individual Woodbridge bottles that were so rancid... I was so-disappointed as well a lot of others who expressed the same disappointment. The Chardonnay was so rancid it was brown, so I ordered a Cabernet, when they poured it not only was the color wrong it too reeked rancid... other than that everything else was great, but I only drink wine so I was disappointed there. read more

In 2023, Salong Namsa, owner of Lao Supply started a Southeast Asian Festival called Sabaideefest at Prado Park in Chino Hills California. Sabaidee means hello in Laotian. It is a Southeast Asian music and cultural festival. After the festival, the artists tour different cities the US. Rainbow Ballroom has hosted the last 2 years. In 2023, Sabaideefest featured influencers like Ae BayBay from Season 1 of Next Level Chef and oversea artists who have millions of views on YouTube such as Thinlamphone, Sophana, Nutdao and Singto Namchoke. In 2024, it blew up with Hmong, Cambodian and Lao artists all coming together on stage. They had Vannda and Vantha, artists from Cambodia. Vannda has over 120 mil views on YouTube. They had Sophana, Youd Salavan, Hua vwj & Big Yai from Laos and they had P.A.P Beatband and his director and hype man from Thailand. P.a.p, Hua vwj and 9FRVME are the celebrities I went to see at Rainbow Ballroom for Sabaideefest's Grand Finale Tour. First, it was 115 degrees in Fresno. I got tickets for v.i.p. Meet and Greet was at 6. I got there around 545 and was towards the front of the line. We got didn't get in until 6:15pm. Luckily, the event hosts came out to pass out water bottles. I wish they would have been more organized with security and letting us in on time, especially with how hot it was. Luckily, they had the ac blasting when we w entered. We, then went to line up to meet the artists. It's a big open space. We didn't really have to fight anyone to be at the front. Sound was great. Local Hmong artist David Yang came out to do a duet with Pap. However, the main headliner did not come out til about 11pm. I almost tapped out because it got hot in there, but I waited it out and it was worth it. I got a sex on the beach cocktail and bought some Sabaideefest items. I couldn't get autographs because they separated the autograph and the photo line. I'm glad i got to give the celebs the leis i made and got to see photos of them wearing the other ones i made my friend! I had so much fun. The lines for the restroom was short and it stayed decently clean. I kept my eye out on both exits in the event anything occurred. Would I return for a concert at Rainbow Ballroom? Yes, if P.a.p returns absolutely, because him and 9FRVME put on an amazing show, but hopefully, when it is not boiling hot because even the artists were sweating on stage. read more

I LOVE this venue and events here are always a great time. BUT THIS VENUE NEEDS BETTER VENTILATION!!!!!! The last two events I attended the whole crowd turned into Zombies by the end of the show. Hard pass if there's an event here. The organizers and venue itself is okay. Lines were straightforward, restrooms and stuff are on the side, and the venue layout was decent. To get a water from the bartender, you have to buy a ticket then hand it to a bartender for a water. That is where my praise ends. However, don't come to Rainbow Ballroom if you're not from Fresno. It definitely wasn't my cup of tea. The people there were beyond sketch and I was not comfortable being around here. The vibes were really hostile and I never felt that uncomfortable at events before, and I've been to Escape, EDCLV, and other festivals. But this was new and disturbing IMO. The amount of people who are eyeing your clothes or your friends is just too much. Also, the restroom condition was pretty bad itself and that was a huge nope for me. Try to skip this place and go elsewhere for an event. Sorry, but this is not worth going to. read more

I was really impressed (and pleasantly surprised) at the professionalism and smoothness in which this venue is run. That's not to say I don't have any complaints at all about the Rainbow Ballroom, but holy crackpipe- they do a damn near perfect job in running and enforcing their shit. I went for a Steve Aoki concert, and this was the first "rave" like setting I've ever been in. I went with a bunch of friends who go to all the huge events like Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC), Nocturnal, TAO, etc. and they've been trying to get me to go along forever now, and I've always resisted. Anyway, I came to this both because I wanted to start out small, and because I really liked the artist that was performing. So anyway, when we first pulled up and got to the front door- MAJOR props for not being like every other fucktard club in Fresno and making you wait in a mile-long line to give the appearance that they're poppin' inside. I've been to clubs that shall go nameless that do this thing ALL THE TIME- where you wait in line for 20-30 minutes, often in the cold, only to finally get inside- and NOBODY'S THERE. That shit just doesn't fly with me. Anyway, this is where I'm going to make my first complaint. Almost every event here (including this night's) is a 16+ event- and this is iffy for a few reasons, mainly because they serve alcohol. I mean, they separate things well- the bar's clearly on one half of the building, and the other half and dance floor is alcohol free. There's security guards at all of the "transition zones" checking your wrist band and making sure you don't sneak drinks. But still- at an event such as a rave where half of the girls you talk to are probably going to make out with you- this is a problem. I just stayed at the bar where I was free to converse with such girls until Aoki came out. The bar had a different set up that seemed annoying at first, but prevented the bar from becoming a complete cluster-fuck mess. Before you would go to one of the bars (I believe there were 2, both on the 21+ side obviously) you would wait in a separate line to buy a drink ticket. So yeah, I initially thought it was stupid to have to wait in 2 lines every time I wanted a drink, but ultimately with the ungodly amount of people that were crammed into this place, it was the quickest and easiest way to do things so you don't have dumbasses wasting the bartenders' time. The event itself- performance was awesome, worthy of 5 stars but I won't say too much more about it unless you want to message me privately. Well, I can't speak too much about how the 16+ side area was run, I only passed through it a few times to get out to the patio, which was always at capacity, too. You'd have to wait for a few people to come back in before they'd let you out. Overall, with the ridiculous amount of people here, the ridiculous amount of INTOXICATED people here, and the fact it was an "all ages" event- I was surprised everything ran so smoothly and without a hitch. No fights, nobody was rowdy or starting anything, it was a peaceful, fun atmosphere despite being an over-the-top fire hazard. I'd definitely come back for another event. read more

I've been here twice for trance events organized by K-Lin Events and while the events themselves were awesome, the venue and atmosphere... not so much. What's sad is that they usually book pretty big names to this venue, but the management and administration is pretty bad. As you walk in, you get searched and are asked for ID, which is normal. However, upon my first time coming here, I didn't know it was a cash-only bar and the way they handle purchasing drinks is beyond absurd and reminds of a food festival. Not only is it cash only, but you have to buy alcoholic drink and water tickets in a separate line before you go to the bar. When I went a week ago, it was $8 for a drink and $3 for a water ticket. I seriously felt this was a HUGE inconvenience and is a VERY sneaky and deceitful way of pre-purchasing drinks. You pretty much have to overpay for drinks and if you don't use all the tickets you buy, you pretty much gave them your money for free. The drinks themselves are strong, but if you don't use all your tickets, you are wasting your money. Also, they have two separate dance floors, one that allows alcoholic drinks and one that only allows water. The entrance to the latter has two security guards making sure you don't bring in alcoholic drinks. Again, this is a huge inconvenience, but I can see why they do this to prevent spills and other contingencies. It's sad because usually the production value of the shows are good and the two artists that I saw (on separate occasions, Cosmic Gate and Arctic Moon) were fantastic and so was the sound! I had a good time and had some stiff drinks, but I just couldn't get over the whole hassle of the venue. There is also an outdoor patio for those who need a breath of fresh air or need to smoke-- it's a decent size. Also, since it's cash-only there are several ATM's so that you can take out cash. I didn't use them on either occasion because I usually take out cash if I'm going to an out-of-town event anyway, but the fact that you can't use your card here is a major inconvenience in today's age. While I have been to worse venues than this, the whole cash-only and ticket system are a huge drag for me. If it wasn't for the fact that my favorite artists were coming here, I would not bother coming here. I think K-Lin Events should reconsider the venue choice here due to all these constraints and limitations here. They cut lots of corners when it comes to customer service despite the good production values. Unless you are dying to see your favorite artist/DJ/band, I can't wholeheartedly recommended this venue. ....THIS REVIEW IS NOT ABOUT THE VENUE'S QUALITY ITSELF, IT IS ABOUT HOW THE VENUE HANDLES ITS PATRONS... I went to see Cafe Tacvba a couple weekends ago. Though I would consider this to be more of the band's fault than the venue's fault, the night started by waiting in line outside, wrapped all the way around the building for nearly two hours past the open doors time printed on the tickets. The Rainbow Ballroom is not in the nicest of Fresno neighborhoods, and not really a place you want to be hanging out on a Saturday night at 9:30. We had used the Tickton ticketing service and used the print-at-home option. After standing in line for nearly 2 hours, and after getting frisked before entering (a very thorough search, that guy should have bought me dinner first), we were directed to get into ANOTHER line. Apparently, anyone who had print-at-home tickets had to exchange it for a little, raffle ticket for entry. Apparently the Rainbow Ballroom is too cheap to get one of those e-ticket scanners that every other venue in America has. (SOLUTION: Either a) invest in one of those scanners, or b) make two lines so waiting only occurs once for people choosing the increasingly popular print-at-home option) We finally entered the building. I needed a drink. I went directly to the bar. Only to be told that I needed a wristband. I got into ANOTHER line to get a wristband. (SOLUTION: Just make all shows 21+) After standing in line for 20 minutes while two people ineptly checked ID's at an incredibly slow rate, I once again hit the bar. Only to be told I had to get into ANOTHER line to purchase drink tickets. What the hell is a drink ticket?! Well, I'll tell you. It's a ticket that you pay for that has a value that can be exchanged for a drink. $5 for various soft drinks. $7 for beers. $9 for shots and mixed drinks. What would be the rationale for this step in purchasing a beverage? I have no clue. I got in line to buy a ticket to buy a drink. Pulled out my credit card, only to be told... cash only. Really? (SOLUTION: Allow credit cards at your stupid little drink ticket booth) So, yeah you guessed it -- I got into ANOTHER line. The ATM line. And then guess what. NO CASH IN THE ATM! IT IS OUT OF ORDER. Someone said it should be refilled within 15 minutes. (SOLUTION: Make sure your friggin' ATM machine is functioning and loaded prior to an event where you're expecting a crowd of 3,000+ and no credit cards are allowed) The cash finally arrives, I finally buy my drink tickets, and I get into ANOTHER line at the bar to get my drink. And can you believe after all this, the show still had not started?! And one final complaint, as a bar/concert venue, you need to offer free drinking water and not charge $3 for bottled water. This was an incredibly awful experience. The show was good, but quite honestly, not worth the trouble I went through beforehand. read more

After living in Fresno for my entire life, I finally attended an event at the Rainbow. I was very impressed with the size and set-up of the facility. It easily accommodated a large Christmas party with hundreds of small children and could be configured in different ways for other types of events. The staff was very efficient. Saw my first-ever Morrissey show here back in 2002. I was totally blown away, strange as it may seem. The venue is nothing to shout about. A little cavernous and the echoes are hard on the ears. I was so impressed with the crowd, though - Latinos, white peeps, Asians, old, young, men, women, gay, straight, punks, goths, regular peeps, etc. It was probably the most diverse crowd I've ever been in. And people actually succeeded in getting onstage to touch his Moz-ness. Every show I've seen since has had security that was too good. ;) read more

While buying 1 water that costs $3, I gave a $5 dollar bill. Man tried to give me 2 bottles for the price of $5, when I hesitated to take both tickets for the water, he cut one off and did not give me $2 dollars in change until I explicitly asked for them (NO I did not think 2 drinks of water for $5 is a deal and I never asked for 2 waters). In all honesty I liked this place but now it's not my favorite place to go. I went to a rave here many times and always thought the people here were cool but I recently when to a rave Bout over 100$ worth of tickets and I waited in this long ass line for an hour was so excited and I was at the entrance when they asked to see my ID so I lost my iD while back and I show my iD on my phone cause I took a pic of it months before I lost it and it usually works when I show my ID on my phone, I told the lady what happened and right away she said no sorry can't do that. Without even looking at the picture and I'm like well I paid a lot of money for these tickets and I have a picture of my ID clear as day but she said nope so I said let me speak to a manager and she said no sorry there's no manager we can't. Like wtf?? And she was so rude about it too! and I was so pissed off cause I count go in and it was a waste of my time and my money. And I know it was my fault for not having an ID but if I'm a paying customer It feels unfair that and iD stoped me from going in. So I wasted 140 dollars because I didn't have ID. Wouldn't that piss anyone off?? So now they should put in bold print BRING YOUR HARD COPIE IDS OR NO ENTRANCE!! read more

The Rave was fun but a woman security guard harassed me before entering. Questioned my id, asked me every question on it, and then acted as if she was going to hand it to me and then pulled it away multiple times trying to get a reaction out of me. Very rude, unprofessional, and disappointing service. Overall the rave and place is awesome just wish I had a different experience with the service. read more

Please don't ever come here. I was here last Saturday. My friend's performed. First of all, you can only drink in certain sections of the club which I hated because I like enjoying my drinks next to the stage. Secondly, they required me to buy a voucher for my drink prior to being able to order it. Finally, my car was broken into to put a cherry on top of it all. My window was shattered on H street on San Joaquin. I filed a police report but it appears these thieves will be getting away from everything. I will never be coming back here. Rainbow room was a pretty cool venue. Took my daughter to see "Tyler the Creater" on 11/1/17. Sold out show. Great sound. Well controlled with security and FPD...Absolutely NO issues! Food, beverages and bar on site. Clean bathrooms. Helpful Staff. The only issues was the temperature towards the end of the concert...very warm/humid near the crowd, but it was to be expected with the energy and size of the crowd....certainly not a huge issue...away from the crowd the air was comfortable and well circulated. Such bad service. I saw cafe tacuba there and was so disappointed in how long I had to wait in line. Doors said they opened at 8 but did not open until 9:30. Then they had a dj which was fine except he spun for 2 hours! I did not go there to listen to a playlist off my own damn iPod. Then to make it worse he said things like gritale para michoacan df Jalisco and like 3 other states several different times. Mexico has 31 states plus df please learn them all instead of shouting out 5 states. Then when the band finally came out they were not happy with the sound quality. I saw Ruben point to a roady and have him adjust equipment while he was singing. I was just very disappointed in the venue, I've seen Cafe Tacuba in other venues and they put on a good show but I will never go to rainbow ballroom again! read more
