Our previous destination in Boracay that was canceled due to Covid, was going to be hard to beat but the thought of having more of our friends and family present was going to be great. Needless to say we met Lara, fell in love with the venue and she made everything easy. The guidelines were flexible enough that we would be able to customize our event to our expectations. We chose a mid may date as weather was just right and rains should be done. Now to share a few of our experience. Our guest ct was at 250 and our only option for a reception was outdoors, which was fine due to weather, we used the indoor venue for cocktail hour, our bar setup, photo booth and dancing. Weather is tricky and judging by the shift in weather June dates might be a safer bet moving forward, just have to watch that heat. We were able to use the venue the day prior to host a small welcome reception for our wedding party and access to deliver items was clutch. We utilized both outdoor spaces as the kids entertainment/arts and crafts and the other side as an overflow during reception. We use the top of the stairs to feature our violinist during cocktail hour. Restrooms we thought might not be enough for our guest count so we ordered luxury portable restrooms but found out later that not may guests used it. Overall I would highly recommend The Margaux and Lara to anyone who wants to host an unforgettable event with one of the coolest entrepreneur. Shout out to our various vendor partners who made it all happen. The best part for me was during the event sitting at the tables and looking out into the vineyard. The bathroom was super clean. The tasting room was really nice and appealing. Technically our job can't pay for alcohol, but employees that wanted to purchase their own alcohol could. The person working in the tasting room was very knowledgeable about every single one of their wines. They made it super easy for us to arrange our caterer to come and serve all of our employees and have entertainment. Everything was seamless. Set up to take down everything was great. Usually when we have an event, there's always a couple of people that will complain about something. No one had any complaints after our event they loved everything. They loved the scenery, the location, how relaxing and inviting the venue was. Everything If you're thinking about having an event here you will be very satisfied.

We ordered pizza from the pizza truck that was there, ordered wine from the bar, went and watched the jazz band front and center, The Vocalist, AMAZING voice. While we were enjoying the music, they must have thought we left so when we came back our new bottle of wine was gone. Cousin to the rescue went back inside and talked to them and they gave us a new bottle... Cheers cousin Jessica! I really liked the set up of the location and the people that were there, everyone was feeling the vibe and smiling at one another just as it should be all the time. I took some really bad pictures... I blame it on the wine... but I hope we do find something else there to go for... We talked to one of the workers and he was mentioning a couple upcoming events... I think we are gonna be checking them out soon.

Even though it is extremely hot in Oakhurst, the venue, being in a wooded forest, is a very comfortable temperature, not too hot and you don't need a jacket at all, even at night. It is a bit of a pain to get to though - you have to drive up a winding mountain for about 20 minutes coming from Oakhurst so if you are planning on drinking at the event, make sure you either have a DD because coming back down that same road at night with no street lights and while under the influence can be dangerous. The venue itself was a bit confusing for us to navigate. We had to ask people passing by for directions on where to go but we eventually got to where we needed. It is also quite dusty so be prepared to have your shoes and the bottom of your outfits covered with dirt. And being up in the middle of a mountain, be prepared for no/poor reception.
