Purchased floral arrangements for my mother's funeral and was devastatingly disappointed. The…read morearrangements meant to honor my mother were sparse, full of greenery, and had mostly cheap Shasta daises. I genuinely could've gotten a better bouquet at safeway. None of the Bouquets match the photos on their website. Complete misrepresentation of what we would receive. Included photos of what was received vs what is posted in their website. EDIT / UPDATE : To help further clarify - paid $400 but would've happily paid more if deemed necessary - Exact measurements were provided for the photo garlands (and were supposed to be much bigger) - While not exact bouquets were picked from the website, the complete lack of anything comparable is quite evident -Shasta daisies and carnations are nowhere comparable to white lilies and/or white roses. Both of which we received in bouquets gifted to us by friends and family, purchased by the same florist, so we are aware that they should be available for our purchase. -specifically asked for peonies and received none at all. We know they are in season as our backyard is blooming with them.

I ordered a flower delivery and received literally some of the rudest customer service I have ever…read morereceived. We had a misunderstanding with the delivery address. Rather than call myself for clarification or the person who the delivery was for, she called to berate me. She was not interested in trying to find out where the misunderstanding was or try and get the delivery to the correct person. She told me that the person who wrongly received the delivery was bringing the flowers to HER. Then she rudely told me they would be at their store in the cooler waiting for the intended recipient to come pick them up. (You know, the person who just had a baby. Unbelievable.) Something is seriously wrong with this business owner and I will tell everyone I know who NOT to use on the island.

I've been driving past the Secret Gardens sign for years, but had never stopped because all I could…read moresee, as I drove by, was what looked like a construction yard with big trucks. I thought that the sign was left over from some business that was long gone. I'm glad that today I was so desperate to get some potting soil that I looked up their phone number and called them! SURPRISE--YOU CAN'T SEE ANY OF THE NURSERY FROM THE HIGHWAY! You turn in off the highway into the construction yard, where nothing seems to be happening, and the entrance to the nursery is on the right, out of view of the highway. Secret Gardens is absolutely beautiful, and reminds me of the Portland Nursery on SE Division St. in Portland, Oregon, which, like Secret Gardens, is so enjoyable because it really feels like a garden as you walk around and look at all the plants, pots, etc. At Secret Gardens, the prices are lower, but just as in Portland, the plants look healthy and vigorous, there's a wide variety, and the staff is friendly and relaxed. Wonderful nursery!

I want to give these folks a super shoutout…read more This holiday season hasn't felt very festive, but my daughter discovered the 'make tour own wreath' area here at the Garden Center. She took me here fir a mom and daughter date after work ten days ago. There were two crimping stations and several different sizes fir wreaths and swags. You pick your size and then you get to select from dozens of types of greens, cones, branches and more to build a custom wreath. I thought it would be harder than it was. Once you get started, it quickly becomes easier. The tough part is deciding what you want your wreath to look like. Good thing there are several examples to provide inspiration. The stations are in a covered outside area and masks were required. Heaters would help, but they are in such short supply. You can also bring i to your own snacks and beverages but we didn't know that. Next time we will! This was a great experience on all levels and now I have a beautiful unique wreath that is LESS expensive than the undecorated ones you can pick up at a home improvement store or a grocery store. Loved this!

This store is a life saver!…read more We are contractors and had a job on Orcas Island. We had never been to Orcas before and were unfamiliar with the area. Before we set out for the island, I looked up local hardware stores (just in case). I found Island Hardware & Supply, called them to make sure they would have what we MIGHT need, hopped in the truck and got on the ferry. OF COURSE it turned out that we DID need some items, so we set off for the Hardware store. We got lost and ended up at the little hardware store in East Sound - we thought we were at the right store, but they didn't have any of the supplies we needed. We were pretty confused until I found out from a local resident that the little hardware store in East Sound is on North Beach Road, and the big hardware store (Island Hardware) is on West Beach Road. So we hopped back in the truck again, and set out to find Island Hardware. (yes, we got losat again...but eventually figured it out) We were so relieved when we located the store and were able to purchase the supplies we needed, because we were thinking that we would have to get on the ferry and drive to the home depot in Mt Vernon (that would have taken forever). Island Hardware had all the stuff we wanted, lumber, tools, big bolts, lag screws, plumbing supplies etc. They even have a couple of little gas pumps which was handy for us. We had the occassion to go back up to Orcas for round two of the job which was exterior painting. The paint we purchased needed to be re-tinted at the last minute. We remembered that Island Hardware had a paint department and took the buckets of paint to them with our fingers crossed. Even though we didn't buy the paint from them, they happily re-tinted it for us...I thought that was pretty generous and excellent customer service!
