There's one with corn and it's basically elotes - it's a summer favorite! They'll get you going on any kind of dinner you're planning. The deli counter has Boar's Head brand and they also have a nice selection of desserts in the cooler. The visits where I walk out without an item in my list are few and far between. They do a great job of fitting almost anything you could need into a store that isn't massive. The staff is pretty nice too and most things are easy to find.

I am a big fan of buying local and the team at L&M curates amazing Chicago food goodies. If you need a Chicago gift basket, this is your place. I also have found great pantry / fridge staples here. The deli counter is incredible (the best sandwiches in Chicago - amazing flavor and value) but lowkey I recently had the best cup of coffee ever there. I remember trying a summery white wine I liked, and have since gotten a great juicy red bottle. While wine is their main thang, they also have a nice looking selection of gin, whiskey, bourbon and more. They have a bunch of Italian dry good items, as well as charcuterie items like gourmet crackers and local chocolates... plus there's a freezer full of Jeni's ice cream. I haven't had a chance to try their cheeses yet, but will definitely come back for that! Overall love the product offering and the knowledgeable staff, so will be picking up wine from here from now on.

My first time visit to Savory Spice Shop a couple years ago made me a repeat customer. I was…read morelooking for Indian Black Salt. At the time, they didn't carry it (they do now). I was wondering if another kind of salt would work. The salesperson gave me a thorough rundown of what Indian Black Salt was and why I should not substitute anything else. She directed me to an Indian grocery store on Devon, and that's where I found the Black Salt. I was impressed by the clerk's depth of knowledge and reluctance to sell me something, anything, just to make a sale. Since then, I've returned many times for different kinds of paprika, rosemary, thyme, cinnamon, gift packs of spices, gift packs of popcorn, different kinds of barbeque sauce -- you name it. Everything I've bought has worked perfectly in my recipe. The gifts are well-received. The staff all seem to have an incredible depth of knowledge. I also appreciate that you can buy spices in amounts as small as half an ounce. Sometimes, trying a new recipe requires unusual spices. I'm willing to try such new recipes because I don't have to buy a whole seven-ounce bottle of something I may never use again. And yes, the aroma in this place is magical. Savory Spice Shop should sell room fresheners that smell like their store.
