Dr. Rahmani's office was amazing and I highly recommend seeing him for Lasek. Unlike other offices,…read morewhen your appointment is scheduled for a specific time, you are seen no later than 15 minutes later. I never felt rushed and I loved that Dr. Rahmani was personal with me and told me he would do the same surgery on his children. I saw two other doctors before deciding on Rahmani. At both of those places I was taken to a room to discuss financing and It made me feel as though I was just another person with a wallet. Those offices felt like businesses rather than doctors offices. Dr. Rahmani's office was very calm and gave me a feeling of comfort, which is definitely important before surgery. The procedure was flawless and took about 6 minutes (3 per eye). I was treated very well by not only the doctor, but also his staff. I felt relaxed going into the surgery and as soon as It was over, I went from not being able to see 3 feet in front of my face to seeing the clock on the other side of the room. Recovery was exactly what the staff prepared me for. Nothing was sugar coated like at the other two office I went to for consultations. Since my surgery I have gone back to the office twice for follow ups and have one more scheduled. I 10/10 recommend going to see Dr. Rahmani if you are considering Lasik.

I arrive for my appointment a few minutes early. I called the store and Tom, the Manager,…read moreanswered. I asked if it would be okay if I came in early and he said "Sure, I'll meet ya' at the door!" I walked in the store and was greeted with a warm, friendly greeting. Tom escorted me back to a table where I would place my order for my replacement pair of glasses. I asked him about progressive lenses and if they would be difficult to get used to. He explained them to me, in detail, what they would be like and even drew pictures to help explain. My first visit to the Allen Park store to order glasses, I was in and out of there in about 5 minutes flat. This visit took nearly an hour as Tom took his time and answered any and all questions that I had. The cost of the replacement pair of glasses (which had more expensive titanium flex frames and polycarbonate, progressive lenses) was a lot more expensive than my first pair of glasses that was covered by my insurance. He explained to me that it would be much cheaper if I bought a second pair using their half off promotion instead of my insurance and then I could keep my 1st pair as a backup. He even offered to throw in free polycarbonate lenses for both pairs since I had such a bad first experience with their Allen Park store. He even tried very hard to only send in an order for the new glasses and an order for new lenses that he would "pop in" for me when they arrived so that I could keep my first pair of glasses on me. Unfortunately, the computer wouldn't let him do it that way so I agreed to go without my glasses while they were at the lab and Tom placed my order. I paid for the glasses and Tom informed me it would be "about a week" and that he would call me when they arrived. Four days later, Tom called me to inform me that my new pair of glasses were in and asked if I wanted to come in for a fitting or would I rather wait until both pairs arrived. I chose the latter. Two days later, I received a second call letting me know both pairs were in and I scheduled an appointment for that afternoon to come in and get fitted. Once I arrived for my second appointment, Tom, once again, met me at the door and immediately let me in and escorted me to the counter where we would do business. Again, he was very friendly, polite, made good eye contact, and made adjustments to both pairs so they would fit more comfortably. He also gave me 2 lens care kits and 12 moist towelettes. He placed them in a nice SVS shopping bag and wished me well and told me to have a great day. My experience at the SVS Southgate store was the exact opposite of my first visit to the Allen Park store. I would highly recommend the Southgate store and Tom was awesome. He has great customer service skills, he's a good listener, and he certainly knows how to treat a customer. Way to go, Tom. You ROCK!

PROS: Glasses arrived in a timely manner. All employees were friendly and helpful…read more CONS: I was not given the usual and customary lens care kit. I get a kit EVERY TIME I purchase a new pair of glasses. Sadly, not this time.

I wanted to have an eye care provider in the downriver area since I am often in the area. The…read morereviews for this practice were good and it's in Southgate so I gave it a try. I arrived early for my first visit because when I made my appointment on the phone, they told me they would email me the new patient information forms to fill out. They did not arrive. I ended up waiting an hour to see the eye care provider. When he first met me he seemed very concerned about medications i am on unrelated to my eyes. After my exam I was given trial contact lenses and told I would have to return to finalize their fit, etc. before ordering. I returned the next week to learn the daily lenses they fit me for are $98 per three months per eye. I also was surprised by a fee for the refraction procedure. Insurance apparently doesn't cover this; and they don't explicitly tell you that you can waive the procedure. It is however an option on the initial paperwork to opt out but they didn't bring that to my attention. I came back to be fitted for monthly lenses the next day. I was surprised they could get me back in. They seemed disappointed that I just wanted the contact lens prescription because my previous eye care provider office said they could take my remaining and now obsolete prescription lenses and exchange them for my new prescription. I drove back 30 miles to my previous eye care provider to avoid this practice.
