This is by far the best halal meat store I've been to in the area!! We drive quite a distance to get here. The meat is always fresh and they have the best deli. I love the cultural and specialty foods I can find here. The store definitely gets packed on the weekends so try to come during the week. I've never had a problem with the butchers and clerks at this store. I've seen customers get their chicken or beef cubed and trimmed and the employees gladly did it. I don't understand the negative reviews. If people have had a bad experience, I encourage them to try it again. Things have changed over the years and this place keeps getting better and better. Adding a positive review to balance the negative because my experience here has been excellent! The halal meat is very clean! They have lots of cuts! I have been in many halal stores and all of them are somewhat dusty or dirty or something but this one is probably one of the cleanest in the tri valley area! Even when cooking with the meat it's very clean there's not much cleaning I have to do at home either and that is very rare to see!! The people here are always very helpful. I stopped in on Sunday had a few minutes despair as family and I were eating at the restaurant right next Amalfi (which was awesome) I wanted to get a light snack for the way home and they had these wonderful little oranges with leaves which was fresh sweet and delicious. Small market that offers essential needs. Store is clean and aisles were stocked and organized. I went in to look for Turkish coffee as it had become a recent obsession of mine. Most of the items were in languages I didn't understand, I needed assistance. The clerk/cashier was helpful and patient to answer my questions, made recommendations and suggestions but was not aggressive, which I appreciate. I only shop for halal meat here it's the closest place to my home and has a nice variety. But please someone help me understand why I'm always treated like a second class citizen when I go. I told him adding a surcharge on credit cards is prohibited and was arguing with me. This rule applies to all merchants in California. Purchased Halal Beef mortadella about 20 minutes ago. Arrived home 10 minutes later and opened and the meat was green and rotted. Threw it away immediately, genuinely shocked that this is being sold in stores, I'm not sure where the health department is but I advise anybody not to go anywhere near the deli because this was my first time shopping at this location and I was truly shocked at what I found when I came back home. They charged me for 3 boxes of chicken nuggets instead of the 2 I had, & when I asked for the receipt after paying, that's when they said "oh actually... I think we charged you for 3 I'll refund you 1 box". They had to call someone over to figure out how to refund me 1 box. When they did, I asked for my original receipt. They couldn't find it & insisted they gave it to me... they did not. I was not in a rush so I asked them to find it or just re-print it for me. I'm pretty understanding about these things (nice to a fault). My son had to go to the restroom so I asked if I could take him while they figure it out, they said yes. When I came back, they gave me the original receipt (it was crumpled up) which is fine - but when I got home I realized they REMOVED one of the boxes of chicken nuggets while we were in the restroom, so now I only had ONE & they charged me for two! So basically, they were going to over-charge me one way or another. Us leaving for the restroom was their opportunity to remove a box. So I paid $32 for ONE box of chicken nuggets. DISHONEST! A pretty tiny but clean Mediterranean grocery store with narrow aisles and good a selection of products you wouldn't normally find in regular grocery stores such as Safeway. We came here for pita bread and we felt like we came to the right place since they offered a lot of different kinds! Pita, naan, lavash, and so on. A lot of customers were purchasing their meat when we were at the store, so I dunno, they must've had good quality meat. They also had a good variety of sweets, which I really wish I had bought some. This review is for the BEEF SHAWARMA WRAP only: Unfortunately I was let down by this item. A wrap, fries, and drink comes out to a little over $20, so my expectations were high (especially considering we had a beet positive previous experience with their kabobs & dolmas)...while the portion is not lacking at all (the wrap is enough to feed 2 adults,) the beef itself was dry and lacking in flavor. Maybe tzatiki sauce instead of tahini would have helped. It's not what I expected after seeing their glistening meat on the rotisserie and I didn't feel compelled to finish it. Unfortunately, most food being warmed up is done through a microwave. The chicken was pretty dry, had decent flavor despite that. Needed the garlic sauce the guy recommended behind the counter to make it worthwhile. The salad was tossed together well, but the greens tasted bitter or of chemicals. Possibly not washed as well as it should have been prior to mixing into the salad. The spinach pie was bitter as far as the insides go, and was quite bland overall aside. The falafel were atrocious. Should never microwave those. Ever. I've never had them like that until that point, and they were grainy with a soggy exterior. You also can get some bread/pita on the side which is just prepackaged pitas microwaved and thrown into foil. Overall, despite having cheap prices, the food fell short in many different aspects that I'd rather pay more and get actually decent/edible food. I ended up tossing quite a lot of the food simply because I couldn't make myself eat it which is pretty tough to do. I doubt I'd come again as long as their practices stay the same. read more

I visit here often for the British imports they stock along with Pita Breads which there is a huge variety of of. This is primarily a grocery store but also have a meat counter and deli at the back of the store which I'm yet to try. The hot foods served here look pretty good and are around $8 for a wrap, $9 for a plate and can also get Salad (Hummus, Tabouli ect) by the pound. I like this place for their fresh food and super nice workers. They had several types of halva and I love halva especially if it's not in a can. Tons of pistachios and date desserts in their dessert case which looked excellent. I noticed their meats looked better than most supermarket high end meats but their prices were more competitive for similar quality elsewhere. Found my favorite Greek caviar spread which I have a hard time finding. They also own the Amalfi restaurant next door which tells me they use fresh ingredients from next door. On 11-29-18, I bought veal chops for $8/pound and they were awesome. Meat was fresh and of high quality. Between a variety of meat that are all cut fresh according to your order to the great halal deli meat selection they have, it's always great to see what new items Rahma has! The other week we found a few zero proof, non-alcoholic "wine" (in quotations because they're in wine bottles and have wine names, but are inherently fancy grape juices) from their restaurant next door, Amalfi. Formerly Rahma Mediterranean Market, they seem to have dropped Mediterranean from their current name. The market moved about 1/2 mile away up the street on Village Parkway. Opened yesterday, 1/29/18. Moved into a newly built building across the street from Oil Changers and Evie's. Same building as the soon to open Amalfi and will share a parking lot with Taco Bell. Ordered their grilled chicken wrap. Comes with pickles, lettuce, red onions and Provolone cheese but not a lot of filler, mostly filled with just chicken. Make sure to ask for their garlic mayo sauce to moisten the lean breast meat. Don't worry, the garlic is mild. No stinky breath, at least none my office mates commented on after lunch. read more

The store seems to be undermanned as we always have to wait for someone to be called to the cash register. Last time 3 customers waited for around 10 minutes to be rung up. The meat is very good but the guy behind the counter is rude and unprofessional. He barked at me for not telling him to cut up the liver in time - he had just weighed it when I asked him to cut it up. He said 'you should have told that before I put it in the bag.
