Ragstock came through for the Zombie Pub Crawl. I was able to conveniently pick up my wristband at the Uptown location and received and additional 20% off my purchase. It was supposed to be used for our Zombie costumes, but I brought my dad along for the ride and he got himself a sweet vintage-inspired hat and mustard colored jacket for the Yelp's Drive-In party that night. I didn't get a chance to check out the old location, but the newer location is on the ground level and two doors over. It was kind of small but the place isn't crowded. They had a decent selection of Halloween costume stuff and great hats, jackets and dresses for theme parties. The only problem is that prices have gone up. The jacket and hat were $13 after rebate. I remember a day when that probably would have been the price or lower without any coupons. It's still affordable though. Check them out! The customer service is great too! read more

Read up party planners! Ragstock is the best place to spend your money on clothes, hats, and accessories that you'll likely only wear or use once. (Photo booth, ayyeeee.) Here are the random things that I've bought from there within the last several months: -Obnoxiously large sunglasses. -Mardi Gras beads in every color. -Neon colored fishnet arm-things that supposedly died in the 80s. -An atrocious wig that resembles the hair of a Jersey Shore bro. -Ugly hats covered in pink sequins. -Creepy masks similar to the ones worn in the movie Eyes Wide Shut. I've never tried on or considered buying the clothes from there -since they're not my style- but I'm sure thrifters can find an excellent deal. This Ragstock doesn't get all the stars, since there's a lingering stench of plastic -similar to Toys R Us- that makes me nauseous with each visit. Still, great props can make a photo booth, and that's why I'm a fan. read more

It's like they want to confuse people that don't normally shop here.. but their outlet store (or Clearance for all you Target shoppers) is at ground level, to get into the REAL store you have to go out, to your right, and down a flight of stairs into a loud basement full of pierced 'hotties' and clothing racks. It can be a bit much to get around down here at times... typically it is because the clothing racks are pushed together in a way that makes it difficult to walk, but my friends... that is just benefit to you! The more racks of clothing they stuff down there the more AMAZING finds you will get out of here! I always love shopping down here, because my work clothes are really expensive... and for some reason I can find literally the same clothes here, for pennies! (not literally... but you know what i mean). I would like to note that it may be a good idea to take your Allegra/Claritin/Zyrtec before getting here... it tends to be... dusty. read more

Need a Halloween costume before Wednesday? Ragstock probably has something you could wear. Costumes are really the only thing for which I'll make a special trip to Ragstock. Like, I'm having a Jareth-related, David Bowie-wig emergency or can't find a 1920s cigarette holder or I require an ugly prom dress. On the non-costume front, they do have plenty of merchandise. Unless it's in the vintage sections of the store and happens to be an awesome find OR it's something like mittens or weird sunglasses, I don't really pay much attention. I don't trust the quality of the new stuff---it's mostly tacky and cheap. But it's Ragstock, so I give them a break because they save my costumed butt multiple times per year. read more

Man I love this place!! They have the greatest assortment of random clothing you could ever wish for. Not only do they have jeans/tshirts/etc for way less than what you would pay at a department store, they also have cool stuff like Japanese baseball jerseys and silk kimonos. Scrubs, old prom dresses, recycled vintage wear etc. I have a friend who used to work at their warehouse and he has RACKS of clothing. I recommend washing everything you buy there before you wear it, simply for the fact that you can't be sure of anything's past. I found a pair of Calvin Kline's here for only $8. After going to Urban Outfitter around the corner, it was nice to descend down to Ragstock and find a score. Nothing against the hipsteratti youth, but when was the last time $8 got you anything at Urban Outfitter? Only thing against Ragstock is that they don 't sell men's shoes, and yes the music at Urban Outfitters was in fact better (but not by much). Shopping here made me miss the ol Dinkytown location, but oh well. read more

There's something about this Ragstock that makes me love it more than other Ragstocks. It has a unique charm. Like other Ragstocks, they carry a variety of new and recycled clothing and accessories. This is an excellent spot to shop for a costume/theme party, or to buy some basics. It's also the perfect place to buy a 'drug rug' or a vintage 90's windbreaker. During the holiday season, they have a good assortment of ugly sweaters, but they tend to be priced a little too high for my taste. So I me & my best friend have been in this store several times we went there on Saturday 9/23/17 we walked in & the clerk asked us to check our vs shopping bags we handed them over. We turned to shop & she said um you need to check your purse I have never once been asked to check my purse in this store nor the one in Golden Valley that I live next to! I'm like excuse me this is a $2500 purse not fake LV! You are not touching my purse not to mention all the cash & personal stuff I have including medications! If I'm shopping they could of been shopping in my purse! I would of gladly shown her the contents of my purse after completing shopping if she stated that & been fine with that. My friend and I were going to an 80's party and the other thrift stores we started with were a little too authentic (we are children of the 80's!) so we bought our entire costumes here: neon, fishnet gloves and shirts, legwarmers, those plastic braclets we used to call f&$# braclets, a huge hair bow, long fake pearls. This is my go-to store for any sort of costume that I'm looking for, and I usually find exactly what I need. The store can feel a little cramped because all the clothing racks are very close together, but if there aren't too many people browsing, it is just fine. They also have a large selection of base items sometimes necessary for costumes, like any color tank top, skirt, or metallic booty short you could possibly need. They also have good seasonal selection of Halloween type costumes, and tons of ugly Christmas sweaters. Ragstock used to be the place to go if you needed cheap, trendy clothes. I mean, it used to be kind of on the same level as a Goodwill or Salvation Army without being as smelly/questionable. Part of the reason Ragstock is/was able to offer such great deals is because--just like any other thrift store--the merchandise is composed of mainly donated items or consignment items that the store payed next-to-nothing for. As "vintage" and "retro" clothes remain in style, Ragstock has caught on and has started to cash in on the benefits. Remember when a t-shirt featuring a cute, cuddly kitten cost only $2? Right. Now here, especially in Uptown, that same shirt is gonna run you $10-$15. Old man cardigans? That'll be $15. Ratty pants from the 70s? Yeah, $20. It's pretty disappointing how the quality of the merch has stayed the same (or gone down, even) but prices just keep creeping up and up. Soon, this place will be just as affordable as the American Apparel or Urban Outfitters down the street. But that's uptown for you, I guess. read more

I've been in this place a million times, and have walked out with a purchase about 20 times, 10 of those being for Halloween! I love this store, and stop in 99% of the time that I am shopping in Uptown, but I rarely find anything I can't live without. My most recent trip was particularly pleasant, however. I walked out with 2 super funky retro looking sunglasses for $5 a piece. It was humorous to listen to the sales girls chat about Prince, which they had playing in the store. It was funny listening to these girls talk about him with no knowledge about him what so ever! I guess it's to be expected when the music they were listening to came out before they were born. You can find some pretty ridiculous things here, but lately. I love Ragstock and shopping around for cheap, fun outfits. I love that you can find some crazy vintage stuff that you never expected to come across in your lifetime, for a cheap price. Some of there stuff is made really cheap though, but I mean, when you are paying like $3.00 for a brand new tank top or shirt, you should expect that. As for Halloween, they usually have some crazy costumes to choose from! It is definitely a store worth checking out. And this location, is way better than the one in the Mall of America! read more

First of all this store is a chain. Second this store is the worst one I've ever been to, I used to go to the one in Chicago and could always find something super cheap this one is just a joke. Its always crowded, The layout makes zero sense. It's impossible to find anything less than $17 which in my eyes is not a thrift store. read more

Ragstock is a great place to go if you want to acclimate yourself to the "hipster" look, find a unique Halloween costume, find a sweater for an "ugly sweater" party, or if you are simply bored. The place is rather large for a vintage store and is neatly organized by clothing style (e.g. Cosby Sweaters). This organization helped me find a Halloween costume in no time... Thank you ADD store owner. Only downfall I'd say about this place is that is smells like "Grandma's attic". So as others have noted before, hit up some Claritan before walking in to check things out. read more

There are some great things to be had at Ragstock but....with a huge asterisk. You can't trust their clothing quality. At times, the quality is downright shoddy. One of my dresses I got from there already has fraying after only two uses o.o. This is a fairly common occurrence amongst ragstock merchandise. Make sure to *check* every single seam so you can verify that there are no damaged seams before you even leave the store. Otherwise, happy rummaging! read more

I went to Ragstock with some of my friends, and according to store policy, gave my purse to the lady at the counter. I respected that they did not want shoplifters in their store. All i know is that when i entered the store, I had my iPod touch in my purse, and when I left, it was gone. When i came back to the store and asked them about it, they completely denied it! The shoplifters to look out for in the store are the employees themselves. read more
