One week later, Mario called to ask if I still wanted the alterations--something that should have already been in progress. I confirmed and reminded him he had only three days left before my event. He reassured me he could finish it in just one day. What I received was an unprofessional and careless attempt at tailoring. The jacket was altered in a way that caused the back to curl awkwardly. The pants were taken in so excessively that they resembled skinny trousers, with one leg inexplicably wider than the other. During our conversation, Mario mentioned that he was leaving his position to start teaching tailoring. It's unfortunate that he will be passing on such poor craftsmanship, lack of professionalism, and disregard for commitments. Despite paying what he charged, the quality of work wasn't even close to what was promised or deserved. I attempted to reach out multiple times to give Mario a chance to correct his mistakes, but he has ignored my calls and voicemails. This experience was amateurish, disappointing, and completely unacceptable. I would never return, nor would I recommend Mario's tailor shop to anyone. Patético

They truly made my birthday wishes come true and brought my vision to life!I wish I had taken "before" pictures of them prior to the alterations, because needless to say, they were both total eyesores and felt like a complete waste of money. I purchased them off Fashion Nova hoping the quality would live up to the advertisements. However, the white dress's boning had no integrity and kept folding into itself, and the breast cups were bizarrely sewn onto the outside of the dress. The gold dress provided absolutely no support for my bust, and the cups were so far apart I couldn't even work with them. On top of that, the train didn't connect in a way that complimented my body--instead of a clean slit, it had a badly folded pleat leading into the train.To make matters worse, I was trying to pull off a photoshoot for my 21st birthday. I couldn't afford to buy any more dresses, and I was running out of time to figure it all out. When I first came in for my consultation, I felt so uncertain of myself. But as we talked through ideas and mapped out a rough plan, their support and reassurance gave me total confidence in their abilities.When I returned for the final fitting, I was completely speechless by how perfect the alterations were. They removed some of the boning on the white dress and did a complete 180 on the top, giving it a seamless finish where the cups no longer showed. For the gold dress, they completely redid the slit and brought the breast cups closer together. It is safe to say their work speaks for itself!

They did such great work and were so reasonably priced that I knew I was not going to have an easy time replacing them. So I researched through Yelp. (As a Yelper, it only made sense!) I decided on Stitch Wiz in the Berkshire Plaza at Broadway and Camino Seco. Finding the shop was a bit difficult, but part of that was operator error (mine). The shop's name was over a side area and I walked the whole length of it, not finding the shop. So I called and the owner came out to find me. How embarrassing - the store was right in front of my parking space! I brought in a dress that I loved the top half of. It has pleats and fancy stitching and I loved the cinched waist. What I wanted was to have the skirt (which was losing its hem anyway), to be cut off and hemmed a few inches below the waist. I picked it up today and it was perfect. I now have a gorgeous top with a peplum bottom. The price was fair and I am happy to have found my new alterations shop.
