This pub was recommended by our air bnb host and did not disappoint. We went around 8pm and were seated promptly by a woman who may have been the owner or owners wife. She was kind and got us drinks after a few minutes. I had the apple cider and boyfriend had a Guinness. We had seen reviews about some of the food and decided to get the fried brie for our appetizer which did not disappoint. It came with a sweet jam and salad and seemed very fresh and melted just perfectly when cut into. I had soup of the day which was vegetable with brown bread for my meal and boyfriend had the burger. The soup was delicious and didn't need seasoning in my opinion. The burger tasted homemade, was a little bit dry and a little bit small in the bun but otherwise very tasty and was clearly freshly cooked! We were checked in on at the end and enjoyed the atmosphere of the place. It definitely had a homey local feel and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. I would come back and try maybe the lamb, or if they had stuffed chicken again which was a special that may have been great! Fish and chips...always a classic too. I would recommend this place, food was good quality, staff kind and environment welcoming and homey. read more
