Well, this review is certainly at odds with the others, but it is accurate…read more My Whirlpool washer leaked a little, and refused to pump out water before the spin cycle. Obviously, the water pump was kaput. A friend recommended that I called Chuy's, and unbelievably, a repairman came out to the house within an hour of my call !! He was quite personable, and obviously knew what he was doing. He pulled the sheet metal off the washer and showed me the leaking water pump. He went out to his absolutely enormous white Mercedes Benz van to look for a replacement pump. My machine is fairly old, and he didn't find the exact replacement pump. Since it was Friday, he offered to put a temporary pump on the machine, to give me weekend use. I declined, since that was unnecessary. He offered to come back Monday and install a new pump, costing $65. He said he would charge $70 total for the service calls. Sure enough, he called in the early afternoon Monday, and said he was on the way with the new pump. He installed it in minutes and reassembled and tested the washer. Interestingly, he showed me what ruined the old pump: A kitchen sink sponge that we usually wash and reuse. It had somehow snuck under the agitator and got caught in the pump, burning it out, and causing a leak. The pump came with a warranty as did the labor. I wrote a check for $135, and placed Chuy's card with my keepers. Also resolved to just throw away the old sponges.

When I moved to my house, I bought a washer/dryer set from craigslist. Sigh. The washer with digital display and less water would not do anything but give me error signals. Done. Drove to 3R, picked out another washer, they were at my house in 1.5hrs. Traded out the cruddy washer and got the used one in. Not a problem in 3 years, but they warranty for 90 days. I didn't know they would repair other peoples appliances (yes! they do), so when my dryer recently stopped working, I called TWO other local appliance teams. One never returned a call. The other I left message, didn't return call. I called, set up a time later the afternoon, they never showed or called. A week later: I called 3R today, it's 11:15am. They send out 2 guys and a truck stocked with parts. They show up 12:05 (I was given range 12-1) and by 12:15 they know the thermostat is out. By 12:35 they are done, swept up my garage floor!!! and are gone. $110 which I'm completely happy with. Repairs also have a 90 day warranty. The speed, the efficiency and the value -- I'll give this company my business as long as they are there. If they don't have salespeople jumping around to help, remember, you are paying a fraction of the cost of new appliances. I don't think they add much onto their cost, so come with a good attitude and patience and you'll leave with a smile! They know their stuff and we shared a good laugh about the new digital display boards which I hate and prefer the older appliances with manual switches. Local store that is working hard to gain your business.
