Really good chargrilled chicken. Most of the time the chicken is very juicy. The sauces are really good especially the mayo sauce.

They were open on Thanksgiving. I ordered the whole chicken it came with beans, rice and tortillas and salsa. The chicken was very good. It wasn't dried out. My gf and i wanted to give rafas a try as it is a local business in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, the food was just so bland. We got the half chicken combo, the chicken sandwich, & the burrito dinner. The half chicken definitely looked smaller then what i was expecting and was bland as hell, the chicken sandwich was absolutely horrible. If you're looking for flavorful, amazing food, then this is the LAST place anyone should go to. Coming from Puerto Rican and Costa Rican background I know what flavor is. The rice smelled amazing, however it tasted weird. Just wrong. The beans were literally rotten. Like when you leave beans in a pot for two days, yeah... that smell XP. The chicken was clearly boiled in just water with little to NO seasoning. And it tasted as if it were boiled in dirty old water. Making the chicken taste like old wet rags. And the Pico de Gallo looked very appetizing and pretty but, as you would have guessed, flavorless. I had to drown my food in hot sauce to cover up the horrific meal. I could NOT bring myself to finish my food and neither could my other THREE family members who joined me. Have been driving past this new place the past couple weeks just tried it today. Didn't really know what to expect. Lady helping me at the register was very helpful and gave suggestions. I ended up ordering the full grilled chicken meal it came with rice and beans and your choice of 3 salsas from there salsa bar. The staff was awesome and helpful. The chicken was great season perfectly and the rice and beans were also delicious. Salsas I also got were great! Overall experience was great defiantly will be coming back soon! read more

Pretty good food! Cook be a seasoned just a bit more but overall can't complain. The price was great too for a whole chicken, tortillas, lots of salsa, fries and beans! They also left a note in our order which was really thoughtful and showed they weren't money hungry and cared about customers! I got a 4 piece fried chicken combo with fries, coleslaw, and garlic bread. For starts, the garlic bread was BURNED and unseasoned. I received very little coleslaw in a small salsa container, a bit of fries under the chicken, and the chicken was so overcooked and extremely crunchy. There was barely any chicken on the bones. I can get better chicken, coleslaw, and garlic bread for cheaper at raising canes. Definitely not happy with this purchase. read more

Now the food: I did dine in, I ordered the Half Chicken combo it came with rice & beans. The Chicken was pretty juicy it had a nice seasoned crispy skin. I tasted notes of Caribbean spices Cloves and some other sweeter spice. I would say it pretty good. The rice & beans do need some flavor. I'm a real picky eater so saying the chicken was good is a plus. They need to offer an extra plate or basket to discard the chicken bones. The Salsa bar had like 12 different salsas from pico de gallo to habanero, jalapeño pickled to a jalapeño cream, & like a chile de arbol. A green roasted chile' too.This helps with dipping as it will add flavor to the meal. The salsa bar is a FRESH hit. On street parking with all credit cards accepted. First of all let me say that their prices online are not correct. When ordering the food everything came out more I asked them to give me prices individually all the food we order was off by $1-3 so my bill was like $5 more I told the guy that the prices are not updated on their website he said they are working on it so basically they couldn't honor the price so I paid an extra $5 then when we received the food, the chicken was not cooked right it still had red on it. I found an eyelash on my rice. Had called them said they would come to me to pick up the chicken and see the eyelash on the rice when he came he took a picture of the chicken said he will have the owner call me never did he avoided my calls! So I called my bank to get my money back, once I got my money back the owner decides to go my place of business to talk about his money the charge back yet he couldn't call me to talk about the bad service we had received! But quick to collect his $34 I'll give them to you if you really need them all he needed to do was call me. Very unprofessional and disrespectful by disclosing information to everyone here at work. My husband and I love this chicken! Let me start off by saying that my husband is the hardest man to please when it comes to restaurant food, since he's lived in 5 states he's basically had it all. I am not the biggest fan of chicken (I prefer steak) but this place is freaking delicious! The chicken is perfectly cooked and seasoned, not overwhelmingly covered with spices like other chicken places. The rice and beans also super good, great compliment to the chicken and they give you tortillas, sooo soo good!!! And to top it all off they have a salsa bar!!! It looks like a little salsa buffet lol I tried almost all of them and they're all so delicious and some are super spicy, love it! I have to agree with Maria Q, the chicken at Rafas is good but not great. In my humble opinion it does need more seaoning, favor or something. However, l love that little salsa bar and the rice and beans are very good.I've eaten at this place since the grand opening, moreover, l was looking forward to this place opening because l literally live across the street .
