After discovering we had a radon gas problem we wanted it taken care of. We wanted it resolved by someone who specializes in radon remediation, someone close by and someone who had good reviews. We called Radon Shield and talked with Benedict on a Sunday afternoon during a snowstorm. Within a very short time we had an estimate and an appointment. The job was done professionally and there were no additional fees above what was quoted. We are very well pleased and highly recommend Radon Shield. read more

We had a radon mitigation issue before selling our house. Benedict came out the morning after I called. He sleuthed the problem's source, explained it all very well, and charged a very fair price. read more

These guys were wonderful to work with. Couldn't even find someone to come out for Radon mitigation. We have had a lot of trouble finding good contractors who quote accurately or show up on time. They did both. They gave us a quote over the phone within a few hundred of the final cost. Primarily because we went with a larger fan. They came out and had the job done in a few hours. read more

3 years ago I had the radon fan placed in my home by Benedict. I text him today to have him come out to the house to check on the fan and re-test for radon, (which is supposed to be done every 2 years.) Benedict responded immediately. He advised me that it would be financially beneficial for me to do the test on my own from home depot for about $60 and then contact him with the results. I also text him a picture of the fan and he was able to troubleshoot with me right over the phone. His honesty has saved me money and I feel safe knowing that even after 3 years later, I can reach out and he's there to help. read more

I found this company through various rating sites..The guy was quick, prompt and very helpful. Would definitely use them again.

I think the other reviews speak for themselves. I too needed to have a radon issue corrected. Benedict was one of the most professional people I have ever had the pleasure to work with. He was prompt, thorough, and kept me by his side at nearly every step of the process explaining in detail how and why he was doing every part of the process. My radon test initially came out at 7 (the acceptable maximum threshold is 4), and his work brought it down to 0.8. And if you hire him for a radon remediation project (and you absolutely should), be prepared. You're not going to sit down much. He dragged me all over my house explaining and educating me on exactly what had to be done. The man knows his stuff. read more

This company gave us a competitive estimate. Had to update it before they started work because we had 3 rooms in the basement rather than 1, a 40% bump that in the end he charged at 28%. The radon remediation they installed took our radon from 6.4 down to 0.5. Fabulous work. Money well spent. If you are wondering -- everyone has radon and if you are selling your house, as we are, you will want these guys to do the work. Good looking, clean installation that is effective. read more

We are selling a house in Bordentown and needed radon mitigation after test results came back. Spoke to Benedict who could not have been any better. Same day that I called him, we had a quote and placed on the schedule for a few days later. There are not enough gentleman in the service industry like Benedict and his brother. I would give him more than 5 stars if possible. Don't waste your time calling anyone else. read more

I purchased a home recently that barely passed the radon test using charcoal at 3.9. A few months later, I decided to retest the basement because my wife and I weren't completely comfortable with the results. To our surprise, the basement had levels consistently over 7. We were so alarmed and disappointed. Fortunately, I got recommended Benedict and his crew at Radon Shield. What a delight from start to finish. Total crew of three guys. Professional from start to finish. Arrived on time and essentially worked with my wife and I in deciding where to place the mitigation system to best suit aesthetics without compromising quality. There were some challenges at our home but Benedict went through various scenarios and with his experience and expertise was able to guide us in the right direction. We were extremely happy with the end result. What was the icing on the cake for us was the radon levels that were being detected the next day of less than 1. We even noticed how much cleaner the air felt in the basement with less humidity and odor. I highly recommend homeowners test their homes every few years and have a low threshold for active mitigation. You will not regret doing it especially with Radon Shield. Thank you again Benedict and your awesome crew! read more

We highly recommend Benedict and Radon Shield. We called him after Discovering we had Radon in our basement. It was reading 4.1 and we immediately wanted it fixed. He came out the very next day which was July 4th. They worked non-stop until the job was complete. Benedict and his brother were very professional and their work was extremely neat and clean. He discussed all options with us and kept us involved throughout the installation of the Radon Mitigation System. We are now reading 0.18 and we could not be happier. A+++ service. Highly recommend!!! Keith and Rana Christensen read more

Not sure what happened in my situation but it was a terrible experience. First, when they got to my property they parked in the grass head first and left tire tracks. The reason must have been that their vans windshield was cracked badly and the inspection was expired. When the got there the "extras" started to add up. Well we have to go their another wall so that's an additional $150. Oh we need a bigger fan another $150. An estimate that was $1600 went to $2500. Not making anything up. Then, they tried to get it to $2600 but I refused. You can see from the pics that they left a basement a mess and did not even clean up their trash bags. The basement was freshly painted and they didn't use any tarps or such. Also, their footprints were all over the floors upstairs. I am a real estate investor and flip many properties and these guys just lost a lot of business. The only reason I gave them 2 stars and not 1 was the fact that they did get the radon down to acceptable levels. read more

After already closing on our home, we discovered a HUGE radon problem that was hidden from us on our initial inspection. Needless to say, we were unhappy and looking for a resolution as quickly as possible so we could begin living in our new home. Benedict to the rescue! He was very responsive (especially to after hour texts), knowledgeable about the issue and how to mediate it, and brought our 300+ levels down to under 1. Would definitely recommend. read more

Excellent service and guidance! Benedict and his team are extremely knowledgeable and truly care about their customers. We were selling our house and were on a tight timeline to get our radon levels down. The Radon Shield team fit us into their busy schedule and got the job done within a day. They even walked us through how to make sure we test correctly and made sure to follow up to see if we had any issues. I would recommend these guys to everyone!! read more

Extremely knowledgeable and professional. Anticipated and worked to avoid potential problems with the code enforcement office.

This company from start to finish was great to work with. Benedict, the owner, is extremely knowledgeable and patient in explaining what and how things are done! His price was less expensive than the major competitor in the area and best yet, the result was astounding! Our radon level went from a 5 to a 1.4!!! I would highly recommend Radon Shield! read more

We located Radon Shield through HomeAdvisor.com. I sent a request for a quote at 8:30 a.m. on a Saturday morning and Benedict called almost immediately at 9:00 a.m. and offered to come immediately to take a look at my radon system. He arrived punctually at 10:30 dressed in a suit and tie and conducted a thorough inspection of my system. He explained 3 options for relocating my fan to comply with current regulations and explained the pros and cons of each option and the differences in cost for each. After we decided the correct option provided an estimate in writing which was 15% lower than another local business. I asked for a Saturday installation because of my work obligations and Benedict agreed without hesitation. On the Saturday we scheduled their was a cold weather advisory for below zero temperature and gusting winds to 40 mph. I was wondering if we would need to reschedule, but Benedict showed up at 8:25 for his 8:30 appointment. After completing nearly half of the job we discovered that we would not be able to divert the vent through the space we had expected. He devised and alternative plan and worked an additional three hours to complete the job including two hours outdoors to install the fan and vent pipe outdoor. Benedict completed the 7 hour job with no lunch and he did not charge for the additional time. He carefully cleared all the areas where he worked outside and inside. He explained and followed up with his explanation of the radon test procedures. Test results showed no radon. This was an excellent and professional service in every way. I give Radon Shield a full five star endorsement. Mark, Princeton, NJ read more
