I've had decent experiences with them in general. My hair texture is easy to manage (3b-c). It's natural and while I have a lot, it doesn't require a lot to get straight. So a wash and set is all I need. The reason for this negative review is that I recently started taking my 6 year old daughter for blowouts. She has been about 3 times. Her hair texture is considerably more course than mine (4a). It is (or should I say 'was') thick and beautiful. Her Afro-puffs were perfect, enviable, huge round puffs of cotton. Not any more. During the last visit, both my daughter and I came for blowouts. The salon was nearly empty so we had different stylists. The stylist who tended to my daughter was feeling her hair and simultaneously asking "are you gonna be a good girl today?" Not sure what she was talking about I piped in, "she is always a good girl." The stylist said, "I just meant while I blow it, it gets hot." I said, "Again, she always is a good girl, she really enjoys getting her hair straightened so she is a good sport about the process." They went to the shampoo bowl. I was already past that point and getting rollers in my hair and about to go under the dryer. So I didn't observe my daughter's shampoo process. I regret that now. My daughter's hair turned out great. Straighter than ever. Definitely more straight than when I do it at home. I drummed it up to the professionals being professional. I didn't wash her hair for 2 weeks (judge me, it's a thing :)) and my daughter's hair never reverted. 6 year old girl, doing 6 year old play, sweat and all and there was barely any curly edges. Peculiar? Yes... but I didn't think too much about it. It wasn't until I washed her hair that I realized that something was really wrong. 3 shampoos. And her hair would not curl. Stringy, straight hairs all over her head. 6 years of loving up on each of her curls, I know exactly what her hair is like, and...like that... it was changed! I did a Deep conditioning treatment. And her hair still wouldn't curl the way it previously did. Soft, puffy, fluffy, hair gone. And her hair had this awful chemical smell to it. 3 shampoos and a deep conditioning treatment and this weird smell clung to her hair. I was convinced at that point that the salon did something irreversible to her hair. I went to the salon and explained my concerns to the same ladies in the shop I have always seen and talked to every time I have visited, but now they didn't understand my English. So they called a woman who supposedly owned the salon and spoke better English, who expectedly denied any wrongdoing. It's heartbreaking really. So beware. This business is up to funny business. I definitely will never return. I'll be using all the natural hair care tips I've gained over the years to try and repair the damage done to my daughter's continually breaking hair. And telling EVERYONE I know about our experience.

I explained to her that my hair stylist is booked for a while and I'd just like to correct the horrible butchering job I did on my bangs as well as trim off the dead ends of my bob. Nothing more. As she continued her yapping with her friend, she chopped 5 hairs off the back of my head and declared the hair cut finished. I asked her if she can even out my bangs to which she responded -- "if you want." What? No, I'm just asking because I'm curious about your abilities? In retrospect, I wish that was the case! She managed to screw up cutting bangs! I didn't ask for Bettie Page style bangs thankyouverymuch. Shouldn't cutting bangs be a part of haircuts 101? After cutting my bangs she begun to blow dry my hair but I noticed that she wasn't blowing it out. At this point I'm wondering what the hell she's doing when she pulls out a flat iron. THIS WOMAN DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO BLOW OUT A BOB? She flat irons my fine short hair into an odd mushroom-like monstrosity, charges me $30 and forgets to say "have a nice day." Linda (owner) was able to cut my hair later that same day. She's a really nice lady and pretty chatty (whether or not you like that is up to you). Most importantly, she's very good at her job. I brought in a photo of a new cut I wanted to try and she talked to me about how to cut it so it will grow out well. She told me what she was going to do before she did it ("I'm going to take a little more off the front, is that ok?"), which some hairdressers sadly do not do. I had the nice combined feeling of being in control of the situation but also being in good hands. When you're a female who likes her hair very short, you often get a lot of guff from stylists who want to change your mind entirely. What she did turned out really cute and I went back a month later for a trim. It's coming along really great. I think there are only two stylists: the owner and one other woman. The place is really small and clean with a nice aesthetic. They also have a seat shaped like a car to do kids cuts. I would highly recommend it. I wanted to make sure the business was listed here and give it a good review because they're new and can use some more loyal customers.

He did a good job. The washing station is at the back of the salon and the shampoo was was good. Soft gentle head massage as she washed and it was pleasing. I didn't get her name but I will ask next time. My only complaint of this whole experience was the smell of the towels they used to wrap my hair in after washing... they smelled like mildew like they weren't properly dried after washing. I removed it from my head immediately and one of the ladies threw it in the hamper. Overall I am happy with my cut today and I might add that the entire service cost $25 so it was affordable!
