I don't swim, but if you do, there are two pools and a big hot tub. Locker room is fine and you can rent a locker and get towel service, which is great. They also have an outdoor area where you can lift or do cardio outside which is a great idea. My absolute favorite thing is that they put basketball hoops in the racket ball courts and there is really nothing I love more than to shoot some hoops after working out. My absolutely least favorite part of this gym is that it is too hot during the day inside to do cardio and they don't put the A/C on or are super cheap with the A/C. I can't run on the treadmills at all because it is just too hot. If you are standing around, it doesn't seem too bad, but as soon as you start doing any serious cardio, it is hell. I am from the Bay Area and this has always been a big thing for me. So, not sure what I am going to do about cardio, but at least I can use machines, lift weights, and play basketball. We also had some sessions with a personal trainer, Charlie, and he is awesome. BUT - I wish they would keep at least ONE cool cardio room!! Argh.

I also recently went to Delphine's Core Power Flow Yoga class and absolutely loved it. Both instructors do poses and flows that I have kind of forgotten about over the years. I recently moved to Fort Bragg and the people in classes have made me feel welcome to their beautiful community at At One Yoga. At times during classes faint noises can be heard from outside the studio or upstairs. There are mats, blankets, pillows, blocks and ropes if needed. Once you open the door to the studio you are right next to the check-in desk and the area where you will be doing your practice is pretty much right in front of you. There are cubicles to put your things in and a bench if needed. It's $13 to do a drop-in (cash preferred) and you could also do, 5 classes for $50 (expires in two months). At One Yoga is located at 301 Main St Suite E. in Fort Bragg, CA (it will be on your left after passing by the bank) and is inside the Union Lumber Company Store (huge white building). Once you enter the building go to your left, towards the bike shop and keep walking down the hall. You will see At One Yoga on your right near an exit door. There is plenty of on street parking that is free and a bike rack located in front of the Union Lumber Company Store and also in the back. At One Yoga has some well written descriptions of their courses, http://www.at1yoga.com/class-descriptions/. I always recommend checking out any yoga studio's website before coming to class! This way you'll be happy with the class you have chosen.

My third class was rescheduled by the teacher and unfortunately I made a mistake adding it to my calendar. Because of this my last class was forfeited and I lost $66. I think it would be less harsh to pay a fee of $15, maybe $30, and keep my last class. Or better yet, be able to find where the forfeited class and loss of $66 is in the "rules" I enjoyed my first two classes, studio was clean and the owner was very kind, helpful and knowledgeable. Airport Health Club is a relatively small, close gym where members know each other and talk. Because of that, I've heard many conversations about negative interactions with Alexa at the front desk/ around gym and after experiencing it myself, I now understand exactly what they were talking about. It was disappointing to see that's why I decided to write a review. It's not necessarily what is said it's how it's said. I had been communicating with the finance department by email/ over phone about adding my fiancé to my membership. When we arrived, I simply tried to explain that he was accompanying me so we could complete the process. Before I could even finish my sentence, Alexa interrupted me and spoke to me in a condescending and unfriendly manner. There was absolutely no reason for the attitude when I was simply trying to explain the situation. I've referred three friends, my mother joined because of my recommendation, and I was in the process of adding my fiancé. I genuinely enjoy this gym, which is exactly why this interaction was so frustrating. As a business owner myself, I understand how important customer service is. The front desk staff are the face of the business and set the tone for every member's experience. One employee can either strengthen a company's reputation or damage it. Alexa's behavior did not reflect the welcoming environment that members expect. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback and customer service training happends seriously because no member should be made to feel unwelcome, disrespected, or dismissed the moment they walk through the door.
