Loved our stay in the mansion! Heck, she even had Brad Pitt's dad help with wallpapering! The place, obviously, is not a chain hotel and if you are expecting things to be like a chain hotel, you might not be happy here. But if you are reading the reviews you probably already know this. We stayed on a Friday night, so we were there for the weekend breakfast, which I enjoyed. We had not heard ANY sounds from other guests at any point during the night, so were surprised that other people were there at breakfast. A guest at the other table said to us that he was surprised to see anyone else was here as they had not heard us either! It turns out that their room was very close to ours; and there were guests in other rooms as well! Wish all hotels were that quiet! Because of the historic nature of the building, it seems it might be inaccessible to people with mobility issues. Our room (the Chapel suite) was pink and frilly and not really my style of decor - but it's not like I'm moving in! It was definitely a change from usual hotel decor, which is never to my style either! It's a pretty large place and is not as cozy as a small B&B. But it's very reasonably priced compared to those. Beds were quite comfortable, more so than most hotels in my experience. We had reserved 2 nights, but had to cut our vacation short due to weather predictions on the route home. They were completely understanding and didn't charge us for the cancellation of the next night. Will definitely stay here again!

A very cozy and unique place for a reasonable price! The breakfast was also great! I would stay…read moreagain!

Flew to Missouri from California, and this hotel is directly across the street from the hospital. Could not have asked for a better experience. The hotel is directly across the street from the hospital, so it was a very easy walk to get to and from seeing our family member. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly, and very accommodating. We were able to add days and end our stay without any sort of advanced notice, of course, because we did not really know what would be happening. When we did leave, we were given a late-late checkout on request, I really could not say enough wonderful things about how nice it was to not have to worry about our hotel stay. I would give them infinite gold stars if possible. Thank you.

It's also a pretty safe neighborhood, which is nice since parking is in an open lot, not a garage. It's a basic TownePlace Suites. It has good-sized rooms with comfortable beds and a fold-out sofa, basic cooking facilities, a work station and the usual amenities including iron and board. There is also a complementary breakfast, and a few others, including a workout room. Service was generally pretty good. I couldn't find my hair dryer on my first day (heading into a meeting), and the front desk attendant had one to my room within minutes. However, there were several other issues with this property. First, the shower in my guest room was barely warm. Even after receiving assurance from the front desk that maintenance would look after it, it was no better. There is a lobby bar where the attentive bartender pours drinks and offers appetizers from Tuesdays through Saturdays, but the quesadilla on offer was HORRIBLE! Whatever was supposed to be the tortilla (and it was NOT a traditional flour tortilla) had the consistency - and flavor - of cardboard. When I asked the bartender what kind it was, she admitted she didn't know, but suspected it was some kind of "healthy option." One does not order a quesadilla to be healthy. Third, the hotel has a shared computer (not exactly a business center) but requires a log-on for Word or Excel, which makes it pretty useless for anything except surfing the web. Even the credentials provided by the front desk didn't work. On two of the three nights I stayed there, the hotel hosted a fair number of kids' sports teams. That meant the noise level went up, kids running in the halls, and a breakfast room that was pretty well overrun both mornings. Fortunately, there are other restaurants close by, providing options to avoid the crazy. It's not the best TownePlace Suites at which I've stayed (and I've stayed at plenty) but if the location is convenient and the price suits your budget, I wouldn't steer you away.

I fully understood that this was only a request and not a guarantee. When I arrived, I was informed that the hotel was fully booked and that my room was not yet available. That part was completely understandable. What was disappointing was the way the information was communicated. The front desk staff (older lady) came across as dismissive and unwelcoming, making my family feel more like an inconvenience than a valued guest. Hospitality is about more than just having a room available, it's about how guests are treated when things don't go according to plan. A simple explanation, an estimated wait time, or even a friendly acknowledgment of the inconvenience would have made a significant difference. Instead, the interaction left a poor first impression and set a negative tone for the start of my stay. I hope management takes this feedback as an opportunity to reinforce the importance of customer service and guest experience. While operational challenges happen, courtesy and professionalism should always be part of the experience.

The next day, I had to extend my stay due to business reasons and was in my room, when my door opened. Good thing I had it latched and I was dressed. However, the door closed and a knock came and I answered. The gentleman said we were making sure you didn't need anything. I asked do you knock first. Apparently, the room I was in, and the entire block of rooms was not to be given out due to an event happening. However, if a door is closed, one should still knock. I called reception, they gave me another room as I extended my stay. Later that day, trying to connect my television and it says I'm not checked in. So, I contacted the front desk again and they say, the other young lady checked you out of your other room, but didn't check you into the room you're in. So that became another tiny irritation. And I felt like someone else could have possibly entered my room again due to this error. It seems as though, there needs to be a bit more communication between staff and retraining done in some areas. However, the room was very comfortable. The pool was enjoyable and the lamb chops were delicious!

Traveling in the Midwest and South I've learned to not book an indoor pool during the hot months unless you want to suffocate! We checked in a little after 3:00 pm and everything went great. The lobby is really nice, super clean and the man at the front desk was really helpful. Check-in was easy and went quickly. I booked a room with 1 king which was over right by the pool. My little one had a great time at the pool, while it's small and nothing fancy it was clean and well kept! The room was nice and the bathroom was HUGE! The breakfast seating area was quite big with lots of room for many guests at once and there were a lot of options. For the price I didn't have crazy expectations but it definitely exceeded them. I'd definitely stay here again if I was in the area and wanted a hotel with an outdoor pool.
