In February of this year we had a major leak in our kitchen that left us needing new flooring throughout most of the house, drywall and a new kitchen. We had to move out of the house for 2 months.Everything went smooth and quick and we were pleases until we moved back into the house and found some issues. They came back to finish a couple of things like drawer handles and some electrical issue with a light.
The longer we were home the more we noticed some more things needed to be finished/fixed.
Our insurance company paid for this really quality flooring but what we got was cheap flooring from Home Depot or Lowes, we aren't sure but it was not the flooring promised. Also, he billed the insurance company for blinds for the windows, but we actually bought them and installed them ourselves. We were promised a welcome home kit, never got it. There is some pick up work that is not completed and our flooring is buckling up and the chipping in certain spots. There are spots on the walls that were missed during painting. Mike said he would come back and finish the few items if we would pay him an extra $2500. We paid him $200. more towards that balance but we wanted an invoice stating what the extra charge was for. (As any normal customer would.) I was told, 'look I'm not a liar and until you pay that I'm not coming back to fix things.'
So I pointed out to Mike that the flooring he billed insurance for was not what we got and also brought up the blinds. He then told me, 'keep your money and good luck.'
We now have an unfinished backsplash, paint missing and flooring that is messed up. We have to hire someone else to fix the flooring.
I have thought long and hard about posting this review because Mike is a family member and I felt bad, but we had someone trip on our floor and hurt themselves so I decided to let others know. Just be careful and make sure you know what you're getting and paying for up front if you deal with Rad Restorations. It is not wrong to ask for an estimate and our insurance company shouldn't have been lied to by a at the time licensed contractor.
And please don't come on here with some snarky remark like you do your other past customers Mike. We were willing to pay but needed to know what we were paying for in writing! read more
