I found DBS Electric on Yelp and this is when I'm really grateful for this site, otherwise, I would…read morebe going into this completely blind. The power kept going out at my house and I finally had to call someone because I realized there's a lot you can't do without any electricity. I called him at 7:30 in the morning (he "opens" at 8) and he called me back in about 30 minutes. Told him the situation and he said he would be in my area on another project and would let me know if he could come by. He came out and adjusted something, walked me through what he was doing and then told me to call him if I needed anything, but he wasn't going to charge me for coming out. I had to call him back because it happened again and he said he would come out again to do the option #2 fix, which was to clean up my main breaker, put some grease on it and hope for the best. Otherwise, it was a replacement and that was going to be more expensive and would not be happening anytime soon with a lack of replacement parts (obsolete breaker). I had called SCE in the meantime who came out to check to make sure nothing happened on their end. I've learned that if you have a complete power outage, tell them you have NO electricity, or else it'll be "3-5 business days," which is crazy. Richard from Edison came out and looked at everything, basically confirmed what Doug said, which was reassuring and also told me what Doug probably might be doing to address the problem. Doug did exactly what he said he was going to do earlier, and which Edison also said, which was kind of reassuring since I know nothing about electricity. Doug seemed like a straight up guy from the beginning, but it was nice having that verification from SCE. Overall, Doug was courteous, set expectations accordingly, explained everything thoroughly as he was doing it and showed me what was going on. He also said I could get a second opinion if needed, and never pressured me to do anything, and answered any and all questions I had. When I called, he said it was about $89 for a service call just to see what was going on. At the end of the day, I paid under $300 for the repair, and was glad I did so. I thought it was reasonable for the amount of time he put in (making three trips to my house), and great thing was he called the next morning to follow up and make sure everything was okay. He takes Visa or Mastercard which was nice and I got a receipt emailed to me the same night. Hopefully I'll never have to see him again for this same reason, but if I ever need anything else, I've already added him to my contacts list for house stuff!

I highly recommend No Shorts Electrical…read more   I required two light fixtures to be hung from the ceiling in my great room, measuring a little over 19 feet. Additionally, I needed three outlets added above a row base cabinets in my upstairs hallway.     I found No Shorts Electrical to be very competitively priced after calling and obtaining several quotes. I dealt with the owner directly (Mitchell). I found him to be knowledgeable, patient, friendly, and professional.   When he came in person to provide an estimate, he wore a mask, and later when he and his crew showed up to perform the work (on time), everyone arrived with face coverings.   Everyone from No Shorts Electrical was friendly, provided thorough explanations for the work they were about to perform, and ensured that we were all on the same page before moving forward with activities that there would be no turning back once begun.   The end result, we love our light fixtures! Mitchell made sure that we were 100% satisfied. One of the light fixtures didn't naturally hang straight (no fault of the installation); however, Mitchell tried and successfully made the necessary adjustments to ensure the light fixture hung just as square/straight as its partner.   My hubby is pretty handy and can handle most electrical work himself; however, if ever we need the services of a professional electrician again, we will definitely contact Mitchell w/ No Shorts Electrical to perform the services.
