If you want to opt for a change in schedule it's an additional $40.00 which means for a one week lesson you'd pay about $90 for one week and remaining $52 for the rest of the week. Usually with most group lessons for example swim, ice skating, dance or music, you get the opportunity to attend a "make up" class within 30 days. I would know because my child has wanted to try everything from swimming to voice lessons.

He mentioned they'll be open the following day, but ended up taking my order anyway after asking what I was looking for (on his day off!). I went home and stressed out for 2 days because I was certain I ordered the wrong racket (I tried to do the transaction quickly and didn't even look at the racket since Rick wasn't even supposed to be working so I wanted to get out quickly). No matter how I crunched the numbers, I was certain it could not be the correct racket since my total after strings and tax was $20 below MSRP of the racket alone. I show up to pick up my racket and it was the right one! I was so confused I had to ask Rick about it and he said he never uplifted his prices after Babolat and other retailers increased their prices after tariffs. I came to support a local shop since it's rare for high end and in demand rackets to be sold at a discount. I never would've thought a small shop could've beat these prices. He didn't even tell me he was giving a discount or anything... people unfamiliar with rackets probably don't even understand the crazy deal they're getting. It's so nice to know that even though Rick can charge MSRP (and it would be a wise business decision to do so), he doesn't. I'm still reeling and cannot thank Rick enough. He's honestly such a great guy (I spoke politics with him too) and I hope everyone supports his shop. This experience is honestly exactly why more people should shop local.

Renting a court is very affordable--you can book a 2-hour session for just a couple of bucks, making it accessible for regular play. I joined to improve quickly and enter my highschool's (Bellarmine College Preparatory) varsity tennis team. Both of my brothers had already entered the team after practicing daily at Norcal. Bellarmine's tennis team is known for its talented players who consistently win WCAL and the competition to enter the varsity team is extremely difficult. There is also a hitting wall, so you can practice while waiting for your partner. We noticed and heard mostly a Tagalog-English speaking crowd of men playing social singles and doubles. In fact, except for us - visiting out of towners - seems like everyone there knew each other. If you live in the area and need to play, I'm sure they'd be more than willing let you join in if you're an average player. I doubt they'd be too excited playing with a novice or advanced player. When I say social tennis, winning isn't the top prioirty. It's having a good time while playing with friends. There will be plenty of commentary about the weather, politics, people, and some kidding trash talking about you personally and your tennis skills. My brother was getting ready to play a tournament (not here) so we practiced hard. We were fairly quiet except for occasional motivational words uttered like, "Ah he!!, d@m_ it, etc. The courts around us, we heard trash talk from these mostly old men like: "Ay nako, pangit ang service mo" which means "Oh man, what an ugly serve!" Of course, they let out a big laugh especially if the trash talker makes a mistake. "Mahina ang forehand mo, parang babae!" which means, "Your forehand is weak, dude, like a girl.." Of course, they know that girls like Serena Williams has a harder forehand than any of them! Some days, the courts are just super crowded, especially Saturday and Sunday mornings before noon. For some reason, at the sun's apex, a lot of them go back home and drink beer while watching Manny Pacquiao re-runs. It gets busy other times, too but those early morning hours it's nuts. For free, though, these courts are hard to beat.

The group lessons have been very helpful in allowing my sons to gain experience hitting with players at various levels while the private lessons have improved their groundstrokes, volleys, serving, and footwork. Feedback from the instructors is very constructive in letting students understand areas where they need to improve the most and in reinforcing what is working well.
