I want to share about the outstanding service I received recently at the Travel Shoppe in…read moreSpringfield, IL. I walked into the Travel Shoppe without an appointment. Jill Bowen listened as I told of my frustrating, failed attempts to book tickets online. The travelers include me, my sick friend and her elderly father and our needs exceeded the limits of DIY travel sites. Jill went to work and resolved everything by the end of ninety minutes. Yes--ninety! It wasn't me; the situation really was complex! (I felt much less stupid when I left.) Because of Jill, my longtime GF who's now battling cancer will see her wish come true. During the 3 1/2 months my friend was hospitalized--from February until June--what kept her fighting to survive was fantasizing about a trip to Destin in October. She dreamed of renting a beach house for the family and friends who've been taking care of her. Many times it appeared she would not live to make this trip. I should add that she is only 54. It is now eight months after diagnosis. My friend has achieved remission but remains terribly weak as well as walker/wheelchair dependent. The aftermath of chemo and radiation have been so much worse than we imagined. It takes many months to recover--even to resume eating. Yet, she's hellbent on following through on her October dream. Jill Bowen worked out bringing the dream to fruition from finding flights out of our city's small airport, to arranging for wheelchair assistance at all the airports and obtaining travel insurance that covers pre-existing conditions. I had no clue the policy I might have bought online would almost certainly refuse to cover us all under the circumstances. Twenty years since I last used a travel agent, I was shocked to find they still don't charge clients. Nonetheless Ms. Bowen treated me as if I was paying her a thousand bucks an hour although I was actually sucking up a ton of her time over low-yield airline tickets. (I'm pretty sure American Airlines won't reward her with a hefty bonus for booking three passengers, two of which have inconvenient special needs!) I signed up on Yelp just to post this review. Kind people deserve recognition. Jill Bowen is a gem and The Travel Shoppe is awesome!

This was exciting as many many years ago the only options were connections in Chicago and that can always be hit or miss because of weather. There are two terminals and you can tell they've added new chairs that were super comfy. As another reviewer said, the security check made me laugh as I agree they must be so bored all day. I have the new "real ID" and the ladies working the check in spot got some leaflet out to verify my states drivers license and then were discussing it while shining some weird light on it. This airport still offers free parking which is unheard of these days. No need for the cell phone waiting area, you can actually park and walk inside to greet your loved ones as they arrive to SPI. :-)

Great owner, great dispatching by one of the best customer service representatives I have ever had the pleasure of speaking with! The drivers were all very safe, clean, well spoken, I have been transported before this company and also afterward and not any of them could compare to this company! If there was anything I could have done for this company, a great review is not even close to what I wish I could do for them. My medical transportation was a very long trip for the team! Just reaching my door was a long ride. 6 days a week (Monday-Saturday) for several months. Auto Pro Taxi dedicated over 425 miles to maintain my medical needs and without their perseverance and dependability, I seriously would not be alive today. Thank you to the great people working in Jacksonville, IL!!!! You all are in my thoughts! It was very hard trip with long hours for my medical needs and Auto Pro Taxi was there with me every step of the way! From the phone calls, management of scheduling and payments; to my insurance company! Auto Pro Taxi made great strides to provide me life changing medical care that has definitely saved my life! If you need any kind of transportation, Auto Pro Taxi, is the 1st choice for anyone that wants to ensure they have transportation without worrying if they will show up or not come back to get you. APT stays with you, to ensure your safety! This was very important, considering I'm a 36 yr old woman weighing 110 lbs! Unsafe situations waiting on a driver to come back while I stand outside, in very cold weather, during that time of year!! If I lived closer to Jacksonville I would still be using Auto Pro Taxi to this day! Unfortunately, they are 2+ hrs away from me so my insurance shopped around for bargain resources in my area! Inevitably, leaving me standing outside a closed facility, 3 degrees, for 30 minutes while I waited for the driver to come back from a gas station that was not even a mile away. He was informed that he could just drive through this very large parking lot and find the station behind a large building and would not even need to drive into the roadway!! He did not respond to my calls to ensure he could and would be returning or was capable of finding his way back! Those are the moments that would NEVER occur while using Auto Pro Taxi!!!! Every single day, every single trip, every single time! Safe, fun, appropriate conversation, genuine hard-working people that make this company the number ONE medical transportation company in the Jacksonville area!!!!! I miss you all and hope you have wonderful reviews to come!!!! My best wishes to all of your team! Stacy of Effingham

We had a beautiful night for a tour, which helped, but we just had about as much fun as you can have on one of these things. He leaves the haunted stuff for the end of the tour, which was nice because you got a good amount of history up front, and then when you're sitting in a dark street in an 1800's reproduction neighborhood you get all the haunted/spooky stuff. It was a good way to go. Shout out to our tour guide who'd had heart surgery 3 weeks before, and yet came out and walked around with us anyway. In fact, he was walking at a good clip and didn't have any issues with breathing, etc. Good on you, man. That's impressive! My only complaint, which I'm not sure if this company can help, is that restrooms should be available somewhere along the way. Maybe he could work out with one of the restaurants nearby, or get the owner of the souvenir shop where you meet up to open up (I'm sure most of us would have bought a chocbhtke as well). I had to pee the WHOLE TIME! Yikes!!
