Clean Air Radon Solutions

Clean Air Radon Solutions

I discovered high radon levels in my basement after using first alert carbon traps. To separate…read moretesting cycles showed my level with sitting at an eight prior to mitigation. My initial Research into radon companies on Google leaned me towards clean air so I set up the free consult. Seems to be a small family outfit and my first appointment had to get cancelled because of a sick child which is perfectly understandable. The next day was a blizzard but my evaluator Kathleen was a super trooper and made it out anyways despite the snow. She had the assessment wrapped up in under 20 minutes and I was able to get a estimate in hand less than an hour later through email. She was also able to recommend me a great plumbing service g&m which I used to voluntarily replace my sump pump prior to sealing the sump pump system off. Since my concrete basement slab did not have any major cracks or fissures exposing gravel beneath the system would only require ceiling off the sump well and installation of an exhaust system. Quoted price came in around $900. Installation of the mitigation system was painless on my end. Installer was on site maybe 2 hours. He did track some mud in the house so if it is a wet day I'd keep a keen eye on shoe removal or ask them to use booties if they have them. Work was good however with snug fit and everything looked clean and professional inside and outside of the home. After clean air did their installation they left behind a electronic sampling station. Within the first 13 hours my radon level had dropped from 8 to .8 which seemed unrealistic to me. On further investigation I found that this is an obtainable goal through a combination of the large gauge pipe that they used to exhaust and the short half-life of radon. I also conducted my own post mitigation testing with another round of first alert carbon traps 2 weeks later and confirmed the level at .8 All in all total cost came in under my expected budget oh, and I'm very satisfied with the results and knowledge that my kids aren't rolling the dice on lung cancer when playing in my basement. I enjoy working with small family businesses and would recommend these guys.

They came out, did a great job and filled us in on the whole process since we did not know everything. Very reasonably priced and did great work. I would definitely recommend, especially if you need a system up in.

If I could rate this company higher, I would! A year ago, I had several companies come out to help…read morefix the extreme cold happening on the 1st floor of our 1929 built brick and concrete structure home. I was a bit frustrated because they were offering cookie cutter solutions/services without really identifying the issue(s) causing the extreme cold. I called Dr Energy Service (DES) and was fortunate to have the owner, Chris Shepard come out and provide an energy audit. As you can imagine with the age of our home, he discovered there is no insulation in the walls, ceilings of the 1st floor and to make matters worse, our furnace is located in the attic, which means the solution must push heat down to the lower level! This is a unique situation which called for unconventional solutions. Chris listened, educated , and offered budget friendly options, including those that did NOT use their services. He was a man of integrity, patience, and knowledge. We were very cold, and he could have taken advantage of the situation and sold us all kinds of services; but he didn't! That spoke volumes and this year I called him back and together we determined a plan of action to warm our home. On 12/31, the crew (Jordan, Tyler, Cameron, Brayden, and Jake) came out to perform the work. The guys were punctual (8:15am), professional, courteous, and worked non stop the get the work completed in a timely manner. They kept me in the loop of the work planned and a few minor changes to the plan, that often come with an older home. They cleaned up, actually left things cleaner than when they started (Don't judge me lol) I am extremely happy and I highly recommend DES and hopefully when you book your project(s), you will be lucky to have the awesome crew I had at your home.

The communication throughout was great, and they took their time explaining the process and the why behind all the steps they would take. Harrison and the team took fantastic care of our home during the repair and install day. Covering the floor with paper, cleaning up (including mopping) their way out, and thorough documentation of their work. Highly recommend Dr. Energy Savers for any insulation project

I had to get a new furnace installed. The whole procedure was Excellent. Mike Paul the Sales Rep…read moreand Chris and Tony the technicians were all courteous, professional, honest and very knowledgeable. I have also had Accurate install a Generac Generator and a Split Duct system. All 3 experiences were Great. The only reason I'm leaving a 4 rating is because this project I decide to finance using their finance option. Everything associated with the financing claimed 5.99% interest and 5 year terms. This was just not true. I have a credit score in the excellent range and after I applied and took a hard inquiry hit on my credit report the % rate was 11.7 and the term was 84 months, so a bit of deceptive lending going on, on the bank's part. I would assume Accurate doesn't control the bank but needs to inquire from the bank why these deceptive practices are going on. Again back to Accurate's team I mentioned, top notch operators. Skill set of the technicians absolutely spoke for itself. Journeyman quality work. Good job!!

Two guys came and did not know how to do what I needed and wound up giving me a quote of over $2000 to basically run a garden hose and sump pump to install a utility sink. A plumber working at Home Depot was able to work with my husband to figure out the configuration (for hot AND cold water WITH a drain!) for $200 in parts.
