They installed a 6 zone system which supplies the main areas evenly throughout both floors. It is efficient, cost effective, and we are very comfortable. Technicians have always been on time and courteous. Working with owner's Russ and Cookie is always a delight. Update: Our AC died in August. Lovely timing. Terrible service... please read…read more Scheduled DorMar to begin work installing tube heaters oct 14th. They provided a quote that I agreed to and stated the job would take 3 days. It is oct 27th and the job is barely halfway done. Their employees showed up oct 14th and did very little other than lay out the heater on the floor. Oct 15th they got the heater mounted and connected to gas. Oct 17th a technician stopped out for an hour to hook it up to electric. Heater still needs duct work complete and thermostat installed. I called them Oct 20, 21st and the 22nd. Each time they stated "technicians will be out tomorrow to complete" technicians never showed up. I called again today the 27th and they said the same thing. I told them I want to speak to the job manager. And he will not answer my calls. Dormar has been consistently behind schedule. They didn't even have the duct work I told them they would need when they showed up to the job. They have provided no updates or reasons for delay to me. And now the job manager will not respond to call or text. Stay away from DorMar ! Poor job management will result in delays to construction deadlines. I'm on the verge of cancelling their agreement to have an alternative company finish the work.

Back in February we had our AC and Furnace replaced by Backus Heating and Cooling (Company's name…read moreis now J & M Heating and Cooling). Everything started out fine until I gave them the required money to purchase the equipment. Then it was a challenge getting them out, always had excuses on why they couldn't make it or even better not showing up and not communicating. Quality of work was not to par, the pvc drain line had to be fixed 3 times first time looked like it was cut with a butter knife. They set the ac unit in place after cutting the old lines and never hooked ac unit up, they told me it's better to hook it up when it's warmer but they never capped the copper lines so moisture got into the lines. I ended up paying another company in May to finish hooking up my ac. I was suppose to receive a new ac pad, ac disconnect and ac cover which I never received, the other company that finished the job provided it. Backus offered a refund for unfinished work back in April but I have still yet to receive any refund. They will not reply to any of my recent communications. I know of one other family that is also very dissatisfied, I am curious how many others are going through similar situation with this company. So to end this review, I am very dissatisfied with my experience and quality of work from Backus Heating and Cooling. I refuse to ever use/refer them ever again. If you are looking for Heating and Cooling work use caution on who you pick.

He finally came out and told me it was still wired for a heat pump. After that the unit would freeze up inside and out. He said he would be out to check it....in July 2018, I'm still waiting. I got through most of the winter because we had a pellet stove. The pellet stove stopped working and we had to use the furnace and my electric bill was $500 for one month. And now it's freezing up again.
