My family shops most of the time at R-N Market because it is affordable and local. Which is helpful for a low-income family. There are some very unattractive things about this store, and I don't really judge places that much. Though being a common shopper there I really started to hate those qualities.
The cart there are like cats, they will not obey you. They're just so low quality it's annoying. There is even an inconvenience when you begin walking to the entrance, there is this yellow section with large bumps, like speed bumps, that makes it uncomfortable to push a cart over and even walk on. Now entering the store. When you walk in you better have a jacket with you no matter what season. It's like 20 below in that store every time I walked in there. My grandmother has a really hard time going in there cause of how cold it is, she usually has to make us go in for her. Going deeper into the store, you realize that it is hard to get around and with the low-quality carts it's even worse. I remember one time I was shopping with my whole family and we tried going down an aisle to shop, but I couldn't even go down it cause it was so crowded the cart wouldn't fit. I had to wait looking down the aisle, just waiting for my family to get everything from that aisle and come back with their arms full of groceries.
Their deals for saving money half the time isn't even a deal. If you actually add up the prices without the coupon it'd be a lot cheaper or even a better deal. I do know that their deals on soda are actually pretty good cause my family uses the coupon everytime. Also when you go to check out, the sections are so small that (if you're with people)you have to walk in one at a time and you might fit. When you do go to check out, the cashiers are very friendly and kind to you. I remember one time my mother laughed at something the nice cashier said because they were actually engaging in conversation with her, being that my mother is a very sheltered, self-conscious woman which just made it like amazing to witness. I've been in a lot of stores where the cashiers just scan the barcodes, keep a scowl on their face, and just recall what it all costs, and you're standing there feeling like you're not even a person, and not even worthy to notice. So with the nice checking out, you almost forget the bad qualities of the store. read more
