Having not been to a laundry mat in such a long time, I was a little apprehensive. Julie explained everything concerning the washers and dryer, and was very willing to assist if needed. He finished up with the other customers and promptly made me feel welcome. I proceeded to explain some issues I had with my bike cables and he let me know they were twisted (hand to forehead). He explained this to me without making me feel silly or dumb for my mistake. He then fixed the cables and added air to my tires. He proceeded to tell me the condition my bike was in through casual no pressure conversation. He stated it was good for now but would need work eventually. I loved how knowledgeable he was and I could tell he wasn't trying to sell me anything. Unnecessary. I then inquired about a replacement tube (he just ordered them so I'll have to come back soon) and a bike bag. I settled on a nice bike bag for under the seat. Pricey but handy and just what I needed. It was $25 which is standard for this sort of thing- I just prefer used things usually so full price scares me. Ha. Honestly it felt good to support an authentically kind local business even if it was just a little. He was willing to help at no cost and that goes a long way. I'll certainly be back soon

Their clothing was clean and well placed. Some pretty stellar name brands of good quality (j crew, Colombia etc). The shoe selection was a bit lacking but well placed. Not a ton of furniture but decent stuff. Good book and home good section. Overall The aisles were big and clear. The staff were super kind and efficient. Responded to dressing room bell fast. Last week I was interested in buying some boots that needed quite a bit of TLC. Outsole was worn with heal needing to be replaced the leather had small tears and they were priced over $50.00. I checked with SM and she said that's the price. I looked them up on GB shoes and they were Brand New for $89.00. Just seems they would be a better price because of the terrible shape they were in. But today was absurd and the reason I am writing this review. I was browsing the store and saw 4 brand new Duracell Powermats. (for Iphone4/4s) I had just bought the exact same one a week ago from Amazon. I paid $25 for the same exact model . Goodwill has it priced at $50.50 each. I thought for sure it was a mistake. I tried to let the manager know but she told me they don't make mistakes on prices and she would not double check it for me. I assured her I don't want to buy it I just wanted to let her know I thought it was priced incorrectly. She told me I was wrong and the price is 100% correct. So I guess the Goodwill thrift store in Black Mounting is charging more the twice the amount the suggested retail???? I am glad there are other thrift stores for me to shop. An added note other than the Manager the associates have always been VERY nice. But that store needs a good cleaning and needs to be better organized like the other Goodwill's in our area.
