I was passing through this area for an appointment when I needed a coffee shop. My trusty Yelp app led me to R Coffee, a cute little shop inside a strip mall. The staff were super friendly. I was surprised to see such a huge bubble tea selection, especially in this part of the state. I loved how proud of their menu they are! I had a long drive so I snagged a nitro cold brew and blueberry bubble tea to-go. Both were absolutely delicious and just what I needed for my drive. I can never say no to bubble tea! The inside is much larger than meets with the eye with several different seating areas. If I lived nearby, this would be a comfortable spot to catch up with friends or have a coffee date. I liked the different seating options and the small nautical touches throughout the interior. If you can't go inside, they also have a drive thru, which is cool to see for a local coffee shop. Usually love this place the girls are always nice and helpful however today I came through the drive through and this older lady with gray hair opened the window and started yelling at me that they are busy and it's going to be a while. I mean literally yelling at me I didn't even say anything. I feel as though it was very rude. I get she's probably working in there by herself but to open the window and started yelling at me like I did something wrong for pulling into the drive through is crazy. I'm pregnant and just wanted some chicken salad lol. I hope she has a better day. I work in the plaza and come here a lot. Definitely not a good experience today. read more

The croissant was a little too toasted for me, and I felt like the egg was precooked or frozen and reheated, but maybe I'm wrong. But I will give them another try. read more

As we left Put-In-Bay on a Thursday morning, heading to Cleveland, I decided that I needed coffee. I am a true coffee-holic, and without it I get massive headaches. So, to Yelp I went, looking for a local cafe to support. R Coffee Corner popped up on my screen, so a little detour from the highway we made. The cafe was clean and neat, located in a sort of strip mall with a lagoon closeby for those want to sip their coffee next to the water. The interior was also attractive, with a fireplace to one side and what looked like comfortable seats. I could see myself sitting here having coffee and working or reading if I lived in the area. The pastries also looked delightful, though I didn't partake of any. Because of the Noom diet that I'm doing, I now make or order coffee with almond milk to cut back on the calories. Most places add an extra 0.50 or so to the cost of the coffee to make up for the expense of the almond milk, and I don't mind that. However, I was more than a little shocked at the fact that my small cappuccino with almond milk at R Coffee Corner cost $5.25. It was a delicious cappuccino, but the cost was extraordinary. I have yet to pay that much for a small cappuccino with almond milk anywhere else. On top of that, the server didn't seem very interested in us as customers. She looked at us as if we had just crawled out from under a rock somewhere, and her tone of voice indicated that she would have preferred to be elsewhere. Yet, when a coworker came out from the back, her whole demeanor changed to pure positivity toward that person. Will I go back? I doubt it. First, I don't live in the area, so there is little chance I ever would be there again anyway. Secondly, the coffee was overpriced and the server just didn't care. I would give the place 3 stars, but I add the extra for how attractive and clean it was. read more

Excellent place to stop in for a beverage or sandwich (wrap). They have a nice menu with plenty of choices for everyone. Overall, pleased with the quality of the product ordered. Prices are about what you would expect to pay from any place, but it's a local business, so worth supporting. Had the white nitro cold brew, and I love it. It's my go to drink when I stop and provides the perfect "jolt" for me. If need a caffeine fix, worth the stop and the diverse menu is nice. read more

It was birthday, and I was looking for a place with cake on our drive to Cedar Point, and this happened to be the only place still open so we stopped by to order the chocolate cake, carrot cake, and chocolate chunk cookie. Several red flags were raised when I heard the girl who took my order ask the other girl if she should leave the cake frozen to give to us or if she should heat it up. The other girl said to just give it to us frozen. To me, this was concerning because my mind was immediately racing to "is this fresh/when did they make this" and "will there be ice chunks in my cake". The pieces came plastic wrapped, and they were indeed quite cold. Luckily we still had some drive time left to let the cakes warm up, and they were surprisingly good. Strong flavors and dense with good texture, and the pieces were a good size (better be for $9/slice). They only got better the next day when the cakes warmed up completely. The cookie was a dud though - the cookie part tasted a bit stale, and it definitely needed to be heated up. I'm not sure what their cake turnover rate is or how they handle logistics (maybe they have to keep the cakes cold since they don't have enough people order to make fresh cake everyday? idk) but I would advise the people working the store to come up with a better pitch to the customers on their cold cakes because it was just offputting. Rounded up my 3.5 to 4 for the good flavors though. read more
