But he does not have the necessary parts (hinges) on the truck. He quotes a firm price, collects a 50% deposit and schedules another visit. The day before the second appt I call to (re)confirm the 8:30 appt. Yup, on the schedule. The day of the appt I call ... and am told the 8:30 appt is now 11-1. Um, okay. I am told that the tech will call when he is 30 minutes away. 1:25 and no call ... so I call ... and am told that he is here and working. Nobody is here. Nobody has called. Telephone lady seems baffled and promises that I will be called 30 minutes before they arrive. Two techs arrive, the promised 30 mins away call was never made ... and they want another $100 above and beyond the Balance Due listed on the work order. What ??? Office is flummoxed. I am placed on Ignore for 15 mins, then the telephone lady said the mgr would call me back. They did not call. Ultimately they agree to do the work for the original Balance Due amount. Techs try to take my copy of the work (receipt) order when they leave. Techs did not clean-up after themselves, leaving me to pick a handful of metal shavings from the carpet. The fact that they ultimately solved the problem for the quoted price is the only thing separating them from a 1-star review.

When the young man came out and installed my opener which was a LiftMaster power by myQ. Once he installed the opener, he was unable to pair my myq video keypad. He said this was not something they know how to do (which I found odd). I said I would try pairing it myself. In the meantime, I did call Rashid Garage back with a few questions. However, I had my godson to help me with pairing the keypad. This did not work, and we ended up getting the opener offline and had to call Liftmaster Support who tried to walk him through the process. We had no luck and had to manually close the garage door. I called Rashid Garage Doors to see if I could get someone out here to check the opener. I tell you when I called, I got Pat, the front desk person. Immediately when I told her what I was calling about she got rude with me and said, "I have never had anyone have as many problems with their opener as you". This really ticked me off. I told her that was not true. When first called it was to check my old opener which they informed me needed to be replaced and the second time I called was to give them the business. After it was installed, I had a few questions which should not be a problem to call for answers. When I got off the phone with her after she said we have no one to come out today and she would have Christiam call me when she comes in, I felt so emotionally upset and was in tears after the call. After I thought about it, I decided to call someone else to come out and look at it. I called Global Garage Repair and Installation and told them what the problem was. His name was Terrell Thomas. I told him my situation; he had other appointments but worked me in and came right out and did a fantastic job. I called Rashid Garage Doors back and got Pat again who was still very rude and did not want to give me a chance to voice how I felt. She hung up on me and I called back. She said I was being rude to her, which I was not. I was letting her know how she made me feel. She then said she was sorry. I told her it was none of her business if I had to call there a hundred times I should not have to be treated and talked to that way. Actually, no one needs to be talked to the way she speaks to customers. I read some of the other reviews and quite a few mentions of the rude person at the front desk. I am sure they were referring to Pat. Pat is either underpaid, overworked or just doesn't give a dam. She then again said rudely we have no one to come out today and if they do come out you will be charged a service fee because this is not warranty work (how dare you tell a customer you just installed an opener they will have to pay a service fee). I told her no need to have anyone to have anyone come out or Christian to call me back. I would rather pay someone else a service fee than do anymore business with Rashid Garage Doors. I will take my business elsewhere. I hope Mike the owner reads this and takes note that Pat is taking his business to a very low level. For the number of years, you guys have been in business you should have more than 44 reviews. I am also going to see if I can report this to the better business bureau. They should be report. A very dissatisfied customer!

I think I spoke with Nicole on the phone, and she was very helpful. She was always prompt to check on things (like a time for the visit, and confirmation that the job was done) with the technician and got back with me as agreed each time. Nicole relayed that the technician said it wasn't easy, but he got the door open and the spring replaced. She also said that he warned us that the door opener is old and will probably need to be replaced instead of repaired next time. If you find yourself with a garage door stuck open..or shut...
