On December 8th 2025, the rubber seal on the bottom panel caught itself in the side rail and tore completely off the door. I called for service. On December 10th the technician arrived and suggested that the failure was user error, that I had "allowed" the seal to become frozen to the ground. First, I've never heard of such a thing. Second, this is Michigan... Now, after several weeks, and several attempts to reach Jason. He texted me and said that "the manufacturer had rejected my claim"??? But, not to worry, because the garage door guy, would sell me an "aftermarket" repair for just $300.

Communication was straightforward and easy. The work itself went above and beyond what I expected. I initially thought I had four locks to change, but he ended up handling all six. He also proactively offered to replace the deadbolt, including adjusting the strike plate, doing the necessary chiseling, and aligning the door so the bolt closed cleanly. He made sure everything was keyed consistently, fixed alignment issues with the door and hardware, and even addressed a turn knob that wasn't seating properly -- all without hesitation. Overall, he was efficient, detail-oriented, and clearly takes pride in doing the job right. Very easy to work with. I would definitely recommend J&B Lock.

I got to the home and had no way of getting in as the key that was to be used for Emergency was not where it was suppose to be. The officers said they could not go into the house even though I was requesting a welfare check. Soon after the officer left, I called a family member of my friend and she did not have the right key to get in. I quickly did a google search for a locksmith in the area. Fortunately, I got John. John was able to open the door and we found my good friend decease. Naturally, I was upset and so was the relative. After calming down, I went out to pay the locksmith for his service. This man gave me a hug and said he was so sorry for my loss and said he would not accept payment under these circumstances. He called the police and everyone else that needed to be called. I can not say enough about this man as he showed compassion and concern. I want every person to use this man as he didn't have to do what he did and I am forever grateful to him. So if you need a person who cares about what he does, call him. He is caring and good at his job. I want to give him 10 stars but it won't allow. I purchased a garage door opener from Rashid Garage Doors on November 21, 2024. I used them because…read morethey installed my old opener twenty years ago. When the young man came out and installed my opener which was a LiftMaster power by myQ. Once he installed the opener, he was unable to pair my myq video keypad. He said this was not something they know how to do (which I found odd). I said I would try pairing it myself. In the meantime, I did call Rashid Garage back with a few questions. However, I had my godson to help me with pairing the keypad. This did not work, and we ended up getting the opener offline and had to call Liftmaster Support who tried to walk him through the process. We had no luck and had to manually close the garage door. I called Rashid Garage Doors to see if I could get someone out here to check the opener. I tell you when I called, I got Pat, the front desk person. Immediately when I told her what I was calling about she got rude with me and said, "I have never had anyone have as many problems with their opener as you". This really ticked me off. I told her that was not true. When first called it was to check my old opener which they informed me needed to be replaced and the second time I called was to give them the business. After it was installed, I had a few questions which should not be a problem to call for answers. When I got off the phone with her after she said we have no one to come out today and she would have Christiam call me when she comes in, I felt so emotionally upset and was in tears after the call. After I thought about it, I decided to call someone else to come out and look at it. I called Global Garage Repair and Installation and told them what the problem was. His name was Terrell Thomas. I told him my situation; he had other appointments but worked me in and came right out and did a fantastic job. I called Rashid Garage Doors back and got Pat again who was still very rude and did not want to give me a chance to voice how I felt. She hung up on me and I called back. She said I was being rude to her, which I was not. I was letting her know how she made me feel. She then said she was sorry. I told her it was none of her business if I had to call there a hundred times I should not have to be treated and talked to that way. Actually, no one needs to be talked to the way she speaks to customers. I read some of the other reviews and quite a few mentions of the rude person at the front desk. I am sure they were referring to Pat. Pat is either underpaid, overworked or just doesn't give a dam. She then again said rudely we have no one to come out today and if they do come out you will be charged a service fee because this is not warranty work (how dare you tell a customer you just installed an opener they will have to pay a service fee). I told her no need to have anyone to have anyone come out or Christian to call me back. I would rather pay someone else a service fee than do anymore business with Rashid Garage Doors. I will take my business elsewhere. I hope Mike the owner reads this and takes note that Pat is taking his business to a very low level. For the number of years, you guys have been in business you should have more than 44 reviews. I am also going to see if I can report this to the better business bureau. They should be report. A very dissatisfied customer!

I think I spoke with Nicole on the phone, and she was very helpful. She was always prompt to check on things (like a time for the visit, and confirmation that the job was done) with the technician and got back with me as agreed each time. Nicole relayed that the technician said it wasn't easy, but he got the door open and the spring replaced. She also said that he warned us that the door opener is old and will probably need to be replaced instead of repaired next time. If you find yourself with a garage door stuck open..or shut... There is an Armor Gard gate that interfered with John installing the door from the outside, and I really didn't want him to remove it, since it was installed in the early1980's. The door I purchased was actually made for new construction. John was able to trim the piece that wasn't needed, and fit the door into the opening without any issues!
