Love this place. If you're looking for a family owned and operated auto repair shop that does excellent work, look no further. My brother was a Operations manager at a very large distribution facility and sent his work vehicles here. He had nothing but good things to say about Chris, Frank and the rest of the team. It was a long ways for me to travel from my place so I didn't make the effort until recently. One of my older vehicles was forcing me to chase down the check engine light from one repair to another and I grew frustrated at having to replace one thing after the other so finally stopped in to R&R. They diagnosed the issue and were up front about the possibilities of other associated items after they replaced the roll over valve on the fuel tank. Nope, that was it! For simple mechanic tasks, such as brakes, oil change, sure they can handle that. I took my 2007 Honda ridgline to them because of several refferals. I came in with high hopes and left extremely disappointed. Not only did i pay to have a tow truck bring my truck from deep Henderson to their store in West Las Vegas, they then couldnt diagnose the problem. It was missfiring after I had already changed, plugs, wires, fuel pump, and did the oil. I couldnt figure it out so I bit the bullet and took to them. After they spent 3 days trying to diagnose it, they came back with, we dont know. We need to run a compression test. That'll be $250 on top of the $225 diagnostic fee. I asked if that would figure out what was wrong, he said no guarantee. I knew the trucks compression was fine because because it was running just fine before the misfire. I decided not to go with the compression test because I felt their technician was not competent. I then had it towed to Findlay Honda where in less than 2 hours, they diagnosed an injector was clogged, so they cleaned my injectors, pumped my bad gas, and I was on my way. $220 total. I would be out several hundred if not thousands if I didnt make that decision. Trust a dealership over mom and pop to diagnose. read more

Trust us hard to build. These guys have mine already. I brought my truck in for a smog check. They drove the truck around back to set it up, then came right back. I'm in the office ready to pay thinking they were done, and they asked if it was for registration, which it was. They let me know that my truck did not need it because it was a 2021 and was too new. They could have easily complete the smog like I asked, but instead of taking the easy money they built trust. This is telling of the honest business practices here! Took my car in for a leak. It was there 2 days. I picked it up got home and noticed my left front wheel was scratched and the rear left fender and quarter panel has paint damage. There are scuffs that won't come out all over the rear left fender and some type of sticky residue. I take care of my car and I don't appreciate them scratching my wheel and ruining my paint. Now I need to pay more money to get that fixed. They don't respect people property. I don't understand what they did to my car to damage the paint like that. read more

Was referred to this shop by Hi Star who was too busy to work on my vehicle. Needed someone to tell me what was going on because my "check engine" light had come on. I have a 2019 vehicle that I'm very vigilant with and take excellent care of. Brought the car in to R&R first thing in the morning and Frank told me they'd call me in a couple hours after they had time to do a diagnostic. When I hadn't heard from them by the end of the day I called and after a pause that told me they had forgotten to call me, they told me they'd identified the issue as a leak in my fuel pump, that they would order the part, and could replace it the following day. Okay fine. The next day I go in and pick up the car and get charged $500+. Okay fine. Three days later the check engine light comes on again and I call R&R up again to tell them the light is back on, and that I'd like them to see what is up because maybe we hadn't fixed things on the first go. They keep the car another half day and then Frank calls me to say it looks like I need to replace my gas cap (which I later Google and see I can buy online myself for $30). I point out the obvious to Frank - that both of their diagnoses seem to deal with the fuel system, and that perhaps the first $500 service was unnecessary. Frank says no, this is completely coincidental... I tell Frank this doesn't pass the smell test to me, and he gets huffy/high and mighty with me and says they don't charge for unnecessary repairs and I can just come and get my vehicle if that's how I feel. I do. A couple thoughts: - I won't be back. Customer service follow-through and integrity are incredibly below par. This experience was worst case scenario for me. Not sure why anyone would trust R&R after this experience. I wonder if Hi Star knows this is how they operate. Because if so, that actually doesn't speak well of their judgement either. - I don't know who the owner/manager is here. If it's you, Frank, hire someone else to run the phones and deal w/ the customers. You obviously don't enjoy it, and you're rude. If Frank is a hired hand, relocate him to another position away from customers and swap him out with someone with a better bedside manner. read more

I dropped the car off at R & R Auto as scheduled on a Tuesday 10:30 am and did not hear from anyone all day. I had to call them at 5:15 PM (they close at 5:30pm) to get information about my car and was told they would need to keep it another day- No one bothered to call and let me know that I would need to find another way to work in the morning. Thanks, Frank! Car was returned from R & R Auto with the mirror piece missing from the drivers side. When questioned about the missing piece... "we could not find the part and it's gonna have to be replaced anyway so, oh well. The amount of dirt and mud that was left on the driver's floor mat is ridiculous... like a size 13 boot print on the floor mat of my car! Do you not even bother to like clean up after yourself?! I feel even though I did a review on this place four years ago it deserves another one with the bad reviews I've seen lately. It takes a lot for me to trust someone with my car that I treat like my child. This place is exactly what someone should be looking for when they need work done. They are trustworthy and reliable. I've personally spent money on things on my car that a custom shop could have done but I let Chris do the work. It comes out right every time. So these people putting reviews up about his dash cam catching them not doing the work is ridiculous. Hey bud. You dash cam isn't on when the work is being completed. Stupid ass. Why would a repair shop do a repair with the car on. Additionally moron that's a mechanic. Then do the work yourself. Obviously there's a reason you came to this place. My family have lived in Las Vegas since 1996 (when we moved from Detroit) and before R&R, we've taken our car to other shops. One shop was waaay overboard with alarmist tendencies and so tried to scare us into repairs that were completely unnecessary, which ended up costing us hundreds more than anticipated (like a stupid oil flush at an oil change service for a car we just brought over from our second home in Iowa - it wasn't necessary). We didn't go back to them. So when R&R opened up a couple of years later, imagine our hesitations when we needed an oil change for the same car. Nope. Nothing more needed to be done. That's it; just an oil change and an amazing conversation with The Old Man. So we went back 3,000 miles later for another oil change. Nope. Nothing more needed to be done. Just another simple oil change and still great laughs and conversations with The Old Man and Mike. We have loved this place ever since then. We have saved hundreds and hundreds of dollars by going to them for simple maintenance and minor automotive repairs. There is NO better auto repair shop in Vegas. None. And they personally hold themselves up to pretty high standards of professional integrity and have never looked down on anyone. In the times when my mom went in and had some minor work done on her car, they know she was the money and not my dad so they talked to her and treated her with courtesy so very rare nowadays in the independent auto repair business world. Since the first time I came here, I never went anywhere else. Chris has taken care of all of my cars and has always been honest. If it's something I can do, he'll tell me what I need. He'll tell me if something actually needs fixing or if it can be put on the back burner. I stopped at R and R because I saw that they had an air pump. There was somebody parked in front of it I asked the technicians if they could help me and David offered to help me and filled up my tires for me. THIS PLACE IS AWESOME! I called R & R as my son-in-law told me there were great people and very honest. I called them in the morning to ask if I could bring my car in to have the brakes looked at because I knew they needed work (the little squeaky noise was gone and now they were grinding and scraping). I called at 9am and was told by a very nice man to bring my car in right away and they would be able to do the brakes that day. I got there at 9:30am and was promptly greeted and they took my car back and put it up on the rack. I nervously waited for the bad news and in about 15-20 minutes I was told that it was only my back brakes and that I had been correct about my rotors. I was also told that my front brakes were fine and nothing needed to be done with them. They immediately got on the phone and found the parts and quoted me a very fair price and they immediately started working on the car. They got the parts, worked on the car, and got me out of the shop by 11:15, and I was on with my day! While they worked on my car I had a great conversation with one of the owners, who was working in the office (I believe his name was Frank). He told me this was a family owned business and that they have been in this location for over 20 years. He also had a great aptitude for business, and I could tell that really enjoyed what he does and that he truly wanted to help people out. I was so impressed I started texting my son-in-law from the waiting room and thanking them for telling me about R &R. I will be bringing my car back for a much needed "check-up" and will continue to come back and get my oil changes done at R & R. I am also going to be spreading the word to everyone I know about this amazing place. Where SANDRO did my repair and he was like "hey brother your break are brand new". They were honest because they could've took my new break off and changed them and made me pay the fee. Needed to have my driver's side fender turn signal light replaced on my 2017 Jeep Wrangler. They removed the old light but were unable to install the new one I had brought because it was for the passenger side and was a different configuration. Was not charged any labor for removing the old light. The following week I returned with the right driver's side light. They installed the new light and didn't charge me anything. Unbelievable in this day and age to receive such courteous and professional service at no cost. I highly recommend this shop for your auto needs. read more

I always get work done here and every time, my car comes out perfectly. Also, if they give you a time of completion, they never delay unless an emergency and will always let you know. Once, I was stranded at the shop while my car was getting worked on. It was a blistering hot day, maybe well into the 110's. With the sun's rays gleaming into my eyes, I couldn't help but to notice that my entire body was covered in sweat. Dizziness and nausea clouded my mind. Suddenly, the earth began to spin and my mind transformed into a state of disorientation and confusion. As panic set in, I tried with all of my might to maintain composure, but the fiery elements of heat would not let up. At last, while my body was at the brink of submission, a hero appeared. Integrity is the word that comes to mine when I think about R & R. I own a vintage car and by nature, it can be a bit challenging to maintain. I brought the car to R & R because of some electric issues it was having. They looked at the car, quickly determined it was just a fuse, replaced the fuse and sent me on my way - no charge. A lot of other mechanics would charge for parts and labor on a fuse, as minor as it may be. But R & R is ultimately more interested in developing relationships so each customer will be a long term repeat customer, rather than making a quick buck. Sadly, I moved from Vegas to LA so I can't bring my car back to the shop. But if not for that, just my one experience here alone was enough to make me a repeat customer.
