After doing some troubleshooting on my own--changing toilet parts, checking the irrigation system, and investigating other possible causes--we narrowed the issue down to the main water line. John responded immediately, told me he could send someone out the same day, and even gave me a one-hour arrival window. Based on the information I provided, he was able to give me a quote before anyone even came out, which I really appreciated. As promised, Jonathan arrived right on time. He was incredibly friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. He located the leak surprisingly quickly, and I was shocked at how deep the pipe was buried. At one point, Jonathan was upside down in the hole working to access it! Throughout the process, he clearly explained what needed to be done. He let me know he was going to the store to get a part and would be right back--and he was. He returned quickly and got right back to work. Once the repair was completed, he showed me the damaged section of pipe and explained the fix before covering everything back up. I was especially impressed with the care he took when refilling the hole. He carefully put the soil back in place, and by the end of the job, he was covered from head to toe in mud. It was obvious he worked incredibly hard to get the repair done right. It's been a few days since the repair, and so far everything is working perfectly. The owner of this company is responsive, kind, and most importantly, honest. I highly recommend Good Guys Plumbing for any plumbing needs. They truly live up to their name--they really are "The Good Guys"! Mahalo, John (and Jonathan) for your help. We appreciate you so much!!!

After arriving at my home with plumbing parts in hand, Cody from Woody's Plumbing was instructed to provide a quote before starting. Despite having three weeks to prepare the estimate while waiting for the part to arrive on Maui, they quoted $965 for a one-hour job to change a cartridge -- even though they claimed the high price included sourcing the part but I supplied the part myself. They falsely claimed to have sourced it and refused to perform the work until I signed the quote and paid in full upfront. This is predatory pricing and unethical business behavior. They were trying to add so much more work than necessary to fix just one leak. Asked a retired general contractor friend for a second opinion and he bursted out into laughter calling this highway robbery. He came over with his tools, cut open the cement just where the leak was and clamped it shut with a pipe tool. Saved me $27,000 of unnecessary work. Shady shady shady! I was gonna let it go but the fact that they keep spamming my email with an invoice estimate after I've told them I fixed it already motivated me to write this review. Thanks for reminding me lol.

Their suggested next step was to hire someone else to remove tile and look again. Over $1,000 for two visits that ended with no diagnosis, no fix, and a damaged ceiling is not reasonable value for the work performed. The technicians were polite, but the pricing for what was essentially "we couldn't find it" twice in a row is hard to justify. If you're getting a quote from this company, ask exactly what you get for the diagnostic fee and what happens if they don't find the cause -- in our case, the answer was pay again.

I called the next morning and he told me to send him the address and he'll have someone to come by. He had someone come by around noon to see what needed to be done and he left to pick up the other parts needed. Our plumber, Kai was so easy to work with especially since we previously bought some of the other needed parts to begin with the day before. It was less than an hour of work that would have taken me much longer on my own. The price was much more fair than calling one of those bigger plumber companies that charge $100 to cut a pipe.
