We've hired Roman and his crew for two jobs now, one to remove a fence and another to look into a leaky roof (which resulted in patching the roof and replacing part of a ceiling). For both he was very fast to reply to our request for quotes on Yelp, and for both he sent someone over within an hour or two, which was amazing. We are very satisfied with the work done for each problem. Roman is himself very responsive and easy to communicate with, though it was sometimes a struggle to overcome language barriers with his other employees. At least two times during the second job workers showed up over an hour after the scheduled arrival window with no notice, which was frustrating and made it hard to plan our day around the work (maybe this is common practice with contractors, but I expect a call or a text if they're going to be late). Dependable and great work at a fair price. Very punctual. Roman said he'd arrive between 10 and 11AM, and R&D appeared a few minutes before 10! Initially, Roman felt his ladder was too short to reach the awning we wanted removed, but he kept looking and thinking about how the job could be done. And sure enough, he got it done in less than two hours! We had another handyman, who had offered to do the work for $650, which is less than what R&D charged, but that handyman didn't have insurance for what was a somewhat risky job. Handyman Heroes came and raised their estimate from $600 to $4,500, saying they needed two guys to work 8 hours and rent a scaffold and pay to dispose the fabric somewhere!!! read more

His team quickly removed the old door and replaced it with a nice new one! Their attention to detail was excellent--ensuring that the door trim was carefully replaced, tidily caulking the seams... In addition to the door replacement, his team also did some odd jobs that had been on my to-do list (reattaching a very large window blind, replacing a dryer vent...). I can't begin to say enough great things about Roman and his excellent crew. We initially hired him to install wainscoting in an old bathroom with damaged wallpaper. He told us where to go to see what we wanted, then picked up everything himself. He was always punctual and came when he said he would come. The results were so professional, guests told me it looked like it had always been there. We also had him look at a wet wall in the downstairs bathroom while he was here. We knew we might have a problem, but we didn't know how bad it would be, with a broken sewer pipe he discovered behind it! Since we had discarded the old tiles a few years ago, he and his team ended up basically redoing almost everything, efficiently and with great attention to detail. The whole thing took about a week and a half, and on the last day of work on the bathroom, our funky washing machine gave a last gasp, leaking water all over the basement carpet. Roman didn't miss a beat and stepped right in to help us. Four days later now, we have new tiling on the floor of our washer/dryer area and new appliances coming tomorrow. Roman is a godsend. I am truly impressed. Thanks to all of you who wrote such good reviews here, since reading them prompted me to give him that initial call about the wainscoting. His fees are very reasonable, and I didn't feel like I had to go looking for other quotes for any of this. He kept us updated daily, would frequently check in, and gave us an accurate finish date for all three projects. Contacted several places for an estimate on taking out a sky light fixture and to repair wall and ceiling. Asked that all materials will be included. Got several estimates but I went will Roman even though he was not the lowest, he seems that most knowledgable. We talked about the scope of the project and then he informed me that materials were not included in quote. He quoted about $200 more for the special paint I wanted to use. I didn't want to do the job right away. We had planned a vacation and I had 2 dogs don't like guest so we had to make arrangements for them. Roman was very flexible with our schedule. When the day arrived, Roman's worker did a good job but wanted to finish that day. But it was getting late and we had dinner plans. So they came back the next day to finish up. Roman texted me the bill for the materials and I paid it not really looking at it. When Roman's worker finished and took all the garbage with them and paid the balance. I finally looked at the materials bill. Some things I thought that was included was not. ie - the tape and the mud that goes on hiding the seams of the drywall. And some things I didn't expect to be there...like Rope,(?) Taping Knives(set of 3), Sanding Sponge, Gloves 5 pack. (I didn't get any of these things back). If anything I should have gotten 3 gloves back. Why did they need 5 sets? They also used (never asked if they can use it) my disposable paint tray, and a rolling brush that was laying around in my garage. I just found the packaging just left there. I felt like they nickel and dime me. But overall Roman's crew did a good job but wish Roman showed up so we discuss things. Here are some pictures of the job. Our house, like may of the others in Bay Area, suffered from water damage during the storm in January. I had called around half a dozen contractor and handyman services but Roman was the only one who gave a reasonable (middle of the range) quote and could start work immediately, instead of at least 2-4 weeks out. His crew member, Daniel, was diligent and hard working. They finished covering flood cuts in the drywall, wood foundation cover, painting, and carpet install for the ~144 sq ft family room within a week. Most importantly, when I complained about dust or had questions about the work in progress, Roman and Daniel were super responsive and receptive to the feedback. I liked the way they worked so much that I actually asked them to paint our large outdoor deck as well and will definitely be hiring them for other projects in the house. read more

The work quality was top notch. The holes in my wall were repaired to the point where no noticeable work had been done. They even matched the paint (which was difficult to do) perfectly. I scheduled an appointment 2 weeks in advance for a 2 day patch/paint job. The price I was quoted was $600 USD. The problems started on day 1. I got a text 2 minutes before the job was supposed to start asking for a delay. The appointment was rescheduled for the afternoon. The employee (not Roman) showed up a half hour late. For the most part, he was very professional and started well. He was on his phone for about half the work time. During his work, I received a phone call from Roman, stating that the patch was bigger than expected and would require an additional $50, to which I agreed. I was told he would need to come back the next day for another application of wall patch before he could paint. Day 2, the same employee shows up a half hour late. Again he got right to work, but was on his phone a lot. He had to leave to get more materials (vacuum cleaner, putty knife) and wouldn't be back until the afternoon. I couldn't be there, so my wife was on deck to monitor him. Again, he showed up a half hour late, and was on the phone arguing loudly with someone while he was on the phone. He mentioned that he had to get a heater to dry the wall and that he would be back. After an hour and a half I (not my wife) received a phone call that he would not be coming back that day, and they would need to come back in the morning to set up the heater and dry the wall. Day 3, Roman himself comes in the morning and on time!! I must admit, I was surprised in a good way. After placing the heater he started discussing prices with me. He told me the patch would be an additional $350 USD because it was bigger than expected (which is not the price he told me on day one) and that the painting would be an additional $100 USD, which jumped up to $150 USD when I mentioned that the original price for the wall patch was only $50 USD extra per our phone conversation. I also told him about his employee's tendency to talk on the phone during his work and expressed my displeasure with the constant tardiness. Roman told me the wall would take 7 hours to dry and that it would be painted that evening. We parted ways. That evening I came back and a different employee had arrived, on time, and got right to work. The work took exactly how long Roman said it would, and the employee worked rigorously to ensure that would be the case. That second employee (I can't remember his name) was one of the hardest working individuals I'd ever met in my life. He and Roman are great workers and are dedicated to providing a top notch service, although some of his employees are late at times. The work is fantastic, and I would recommend this service to anyone with a job need, but be prepared to spend more time than you were told for the job to be completed. read more
