They did the entire flooring in every room in the house to include baseboards. The work they did was absolutely excellent. The work was done quickly and as about as professional as you can get. But on the last day of installing flooring they let one of their guys who normally does sweep up and sometimes helps with flooring installation touchup the baseboards. He's a hard worker and has a good job but on the baseboards he made several mistakes that I will now have to correct myself. He used a 2 inch paintbrush to do touchup on a 3 inch baseboard. You don't use even a 1 inch brush unless you really know what you're doing. He let his touchups bleed over into the white wall next to the baseboard and this was done in several areas. He kept looking at me as if I knew what it happened even though I couldn't figure out why he kept star. After everybody was gone then I saw what happened. And it made me very angry. He made mistakes and he chose to hide those mistakes rather than tell his boss what he had done so they could correct the problem right then and there. I chastise his boss really hard and told him that if they're gonna continue to do work for me that that kid does not have anything more involved in his hands than a broom and a dustpan. Apparently he didn't like that which is fine I'm not gonna be having them do more work.
The other thing that happened is that in their hurry to get over to another job which was a much higher paying job they left corner pieces off of the baseboard for the closet openings. They told me that they were trying to give me the option on how I was gonna set up the doors to the closets. I told them this is not what they were hired to do and so I had to have them come back and add these other pieces to complete the work. The other thing after I went back after them and found that the baseboard that they put in the front bedroom did not have enough Nails to keep it next to the wall. The centerpiece on two wall walls opposing each each other had boat out and we're not sitting secure against the wall. This was just an oversight but if their boss had gone back behind him at every stage and done the inspection he would've seen this and it would've been fixed that day.
It took a while for them to get the transfers and they had to come back and finish nailing in the baseboards and putting in the pieces that they did not put in and then they only set one guy and he did all the transfers and he did a good job. Except for the transfer in the kitchen which was fine until you come to the very end of it and the very end of it was a complete block it was not smooth off and slanted off in order to not be caught on someone's foot and causing an accident. The amount of transfers that they purchased were double the amount that was needed to do all the transfers in the house but yet they charge me for these extra ones. Now I'm gonna have to cut these transfers up and just throw them away. And that's money out of my pocket cause these transfers were not cheap. Now these guys do exceptional work but this was just pure laziness on the part of the guy that did the work. He used my broom and dustpan and then left the broom just sitting on the floor. I have never been so insulted or upset as such hasty and low quality work. I have another tile job that I'm going to need to do but I will not let these people back into my house. When they have a big job that pays them a lot of money than little jobs like mine don't get the attention to detail that they need. Everything was fine until that very last day when they were trying to finish up and made so many mistakes and allowed things to happen that should never have happened. They didn't check with me first they just did what they thought they should've done and didn't ask my advice. I always before, they always did. If you have a big job regardless of the quality of work they do you must go behind them each and every day and make sure they clean up after themselves. This last day they had left a coke bottle and at least three cans of unfinished power drink sitting on the floor. If these had fallen over they would've damage the grain of the flooring because of the acid content in the drink. So word of advice follow behind them at the end of each workday and make sure they clean up every mess that they leave and before they are finally done with the entire job go back again and inspect every inch of every room so that things like baseboards that didn't get properly nailed to the wall don't happen to you. read more
