When faced with hiring a Painting contractor, like any other non-contractor layperson, I agonized over knowing how to hire the best available company without feeling like I was being gouged due to my obvious lack of knowledge. I have past experiences of proudly sharing with others my good hire only to discover I way overpaid for a job I could have done equally if not better myself. After setting up appointments with multiple contractors to insure I had multiple estimates each of which had to be set up days out I felt like they all knew I had no choice. After a day of ruminating my options, I came across NBR and followed my instincts and called. Steve answered and I met him that same day. I had a free quote and he started the job the next day. It was a hire for three bedrooms to be painted. I expected to afford a bedroom at a time but at least I could budget for the future. I was excited to learn I could afford the whole project at once and mostly, I didn't have that nagging feeling that He saw me coming. The rule that the bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is true. But equally grinding is finding out you were taken advantage of because you could not call "your guy" first at least to verify. Also, when he was finished all my very knowledgeable confidants were totally impressed by the quality and the cost. Not only that! Even though it was a home construction site he covered floors and treated the place like it was filled with all my expensive furnishings. Instead of the toolboxes and debris strewn about the house as it was. Furthermore, and probably to his detriment that i mention this but I picked his brain about all thing's construction for my goings on and he became a teacher. Patiently explaining what possible courses of action I was looking at. I am happy, from the initial call to the result. I could go on about his overwhelming personal commitment to making sure you are satisfied before he leaves but suffice it to say, If you call Steve at NBR you will have "your guy" you will happily call or recommend to your friends and family. I contacted Steve from NBR to get a quote for patching the stucco all around the house and garage and paint both. Steve came and saw the job, provided a reasonable quote by the next day and started a few days later. His response time and communication was great. He and his crew did an excellent job of fixing cracks and repairing large sections where the stucco had fallen off. They cleaned up after themselves and were always respectful of my property. They did not leave concrete in the plants (as I've had before), or leave a mess for me to clean up. They did their best to match the stucco texture so the patching wouldn't be obvious. Throughout the days he sent me pictures to show me the progress. At the end of each day he asked me if everything was OK. Anything I thought wasn't quite the way I wanted, he fixed. The painting of the house/garage stucco was also well done! They covered what needed to be covered. Only painted what needed to be painted. The plants, hoses and trim did not get painted as I have had previously. We did a walk through after they were done and had cleaned up to make sure I was happy with everything. So I'm ecstatic! I've been burned so many times, I can't believe that I've finally found a company that I want to hire again. Which I have. I'm putting that job on another review. I was looking for an affordable Mover for some items from our business office to a storage and was getting RIDICULOUS high quotes for a few exam tables, chairs and odds and ends. I guess because I was calling from a business people like Two "You Know Who's" & a Truck & other big movers in town feel they can rip you off. I don't care about big names, I care about honesty and integrity. I called around and found this guy Steve's Ad on Craigslist. I was a little hesitant at first but he is Licensed. Not only did he actually answer his phone, he was polite, funny, and most important gave me a reasonable quote and moved my items in the timeframe I needed. He's a local guy I can tell isn't looking to get rich, just make ends meet. He not only accommodated our deadline but he wrapped things professionally and was fast, efficient and got the job done in less time than quoted so he came in under his orginal quote. I tried to offer the rest as a tip and he refused, what an honest guy! All in all my experience with Steve was fantastic & I'd highly recommend him to anyone.
