Not sure about these negative reviews. The hotel is beautiful, clean, and the staff is kind. They have a cafe, rooftop bar, and restaurant. The rooms are simple but aesthetic and the beds are cozy! I'd definitely stay here again

LOCATION. PARKING. COMFORT. TRENDY. I stayed out here for work near UVA. the hotel was extremely comfortable and felt safe. Beds are comfortable and you can cast streaming apps to the TV. The hotel is beautifully designed and clean. There are also different food options at the hotel and in the surrounding area. Quirk cafe is connected for breakfast and lunch, or a coffee to go. It is a decent price for the location and comfort. Parking is a little difficult, but I was able to park on the street near the hotel during my stay. Valet parking is also provided during certain hours for a fee. I will be staying here again if I am in the area.

I stopped by Quirk during my tour of the new Charlottesville spaces/restaurants. I was mainly going in to share pictures of the hotel and amenities available. As I did not stay at Quirk Hotel, I cannot comment on service or prices. Although, I looked at prices online and comparatively they are more expensive than other hotel locations nearby. The hotel itself was beautiful and the adjacent cafe makes me want to sit in there and sip coffee and do work all day. They also had a store in the lobby (pricey) that had very cute items (similar to what a Paper Source would carry). I've attached pictures for your reference.

I stayed here to celebrate my husband's birthday. The hotel is beautifully decorated and a perfect spot to access great restaurants nearby. There is also a restaurant inside the hotel that is worth dinning at for dinner. They also have a cafe next door that you can grab some breakfast or lunch. They have a cute gift shop where you can pick up something for yourself or a friend/family. It's definitely a great place for a quick weekend getaway.

This is a review for the Quirk rooftop lounge. Decorations and aesthetic are 10/10. This place is super chic and perfect for photos. Drink: 2/10 - the king's smash was not great at all, which was sad since it was $12. My friend got the pink breeze which was better, but only a 3/10. Free birthday Dessert: 7/10 - The Panna Cotta was very sweet. I've had it in France before, and this was definitely different. The fruit really helps balance out the sweetness.

Nice place to sit for a drink. Outdoor and indoor patio seating. Pretty difficult to get service though with no one at the host stand and the server only coming by once in a while.

Oh, was this place wonderful! My friend and I went on my birthday to have some cocktails and appetizers. We didn't make reservations and went on a Thursday at dinner time during graduation weekend and still got a nice table outside! You enter through the hotel and take the elevators up to the 5th floor where you can find Quirk Rooftop bar. They have a full menu including salads, pizzas, desserts and appetizers along with fun cocktails, beer and wine. Their cocktails are pricey but no more than other nice spots with talented bartenders. Service was too notch! What a view and the rooftop seating options wrap all the way around the building. There's also space to have a private party on the rooftop too. My friend had the picante pizza and she loved it, spicy!

We had some positives and negatives at The Quirk. First, the only negative. My wife and I checked in and were told about a happy hour that is from four to six, the happy hour is also on the website. So, today February 7th, 2023 we walked down to the lobby bar at 430 and asked about happy hour. The bartender, who took 5 minutes to greet us said there is not a happy hour while texting on his phone. I responded with the front desk said there is one from four to six. The bartender then proceeded to tell us that they lied there has never been a happy hour... Seems like a major problem. I asked for a manager the bartender said he talked to the manager and that the happy hour that is on the website will not be honored. I talked to the front desk and they said there is a happy hour and we should just ask for the prices. We asked the bartender again and were told we could go somewhere else if wed like even after showing him the website and having the front desk come over. So we went to another bar for happy hour. My question is who was the manager on duty Feb 7th 2023 at 4 pm? Second question why have it on your website, push at check in and text out the happy hour if is is not a thing?!?! The rooms were amazing, the front desk staff was wonderful and house keeping couldn't have been better. The bartender is the sole reason ill never be back.

My husband and I have visited Charlottesville several times and have stayed in numerous hotels, but the Quirk Is THE BEST ! The ivy art exhibit in the main lobby is magnificent, please take the time to view the work. Secondly, I love the modern, minimalist aesthetic of the hotel. Decor is simple, but sophisticated. Our room was perfect. You will get the best sleep of your life at the Quirk. I have never stayed at a hotel with electric room darkening blinds, but I'll never go back. The room was spacious for us, but more importantly, for our dog. She was the biggest fan of the Quirk and she won't let us go to Charlottesville anymore without taking her and staying at the Quirk. Thank you to the staff for their warm welcoming hospitality

Valet parking was easy and stress-free, which always sets the tone. Jeffrey was incredibly polite and helpful on the phone when I called to update my reservation and add my status--small interaction, but it stood out. Check-in with J was smooth and efficient, and Alister greeted us with so much warmth and positivity. You could really feel that the team works well together and takes pride in what they do. The room itself was comfortable, clean, and modern, with a lovely view that made it even more enjoyable. The hotel feels very well managed overall--everything just runs the way it should. Location is another huge plus--right near UVA and central to everything you'd want while visiting Charlottesville. Without hesitation, this is the best place to stay in Charlottesville. Highly recommend and would absolutely return.

I had hoped that it would offer a high class experience, but it was just okay. The room had some minor aesthetic touches, but in substance was pretty standard. The entrance to the hotel felt a bit cramped, and the building seemed centered around the restaurant that didn't have much for me. The sheets caused some skin irritation, and I wish all hotels used the most hypoallergenic detergent available. From a service perspective, it was quite good. I was offered an early checkin and also took a late checkout, so I got a ton of time with the room. They also stored my luggage, including various baked goods, after I was done. So I got a lot of value out of the room. The question to me was how this hotel would compare to the others that are in downtown Charlottesville; would the experience be worth a bit more than the more standard Marriotts or various others. I was not convinced that it would be worth spending the extra money on.

Breakfast was decent, with a standard fare of eggs, sausage (regular and turkey), bacon, oatmeal, cereal, fruit, and a pancake machine. The best breakfast item was the WARM cinnamon rolls (not the healthiest, but had that nostalgic Cinnbons-at-the mall vibe). Margie the chef was very friendly. There was coffee all day and they had seasonal hot cocoa too. The rooms were new and clean and I liked that the cleaning staff came every day (many places don't even take out your trash anymore). We had a lovely mountain view from our double queen suit on the backside of the hotel. It was quite pricey for a Holiday Inn (~$400/night), but the great service helped me overlook that. While the price would deter me from staying here again, I would come back in a heartbeat for a lower rate.

I saw a large dog on a leash. I asked the man did this hotel allow pets he said yes. I asked if it was a service animal, he said no. He then said I am staying next door to your room. She refused to provide her Managers information. I asked for the Corporate IHG phone number, she told me to look it up myself. It was a horrible experience! I do not recommend this hotel! The General Manager never contacted me. After repeated attempts to contact her. A potential great visit ruined by a rude, untrained and hostile front line customer service representative. A management team with absolutely no accountability. I suggest the management team view their cameras to see how this front line customer service representative treats customers in their absence.

I haven't stayed at many places that feel more like a five-star resort than this one. Driving up to the property felt like being in a car commercial, rolling hills, gorgeous scenery, and impeccable service waiting the moment we arrived. Check-in was seamless. We stayed in one of the rooms in the new wing, which was absolutely stunning. In 2017, the hotel completed a multi-year, $2 million renovation and expansion, and it shows in every detail. Our room overlooked the grounds and was part of the beautiful new addition. The room itself was spacious and elegant, with a wonderfully comfortable bed and a cozy nook perfect for reading or relaxing. The bathroom was equally luxurious and practically begged for a long shower. Waiting for us in the room was a handwritten note wishing us a wonderful mother-daughter trip, along with thoughtful gifts from the spa. Another nice touch: branded, reusable water bottles to use at the filling stations around the property. I loved this sustainability piece that doubles as a keepsake. During our stay, I walked the grounds, visited the spa, and toured the Southern Living Idea House which is on its ground, though honestly, this is the kind of hotel where simply staying on property feels like a vacation. Because we visited in winter, the pool was closed, but seeing it made me want to return in the spring. The fitness center was well appointed, the tennis court s and area were beautiful, and the championship golf course was gorgeous! I'm not a golfer, but I loved looking at this course from the mini windows and patios overlooking it! I'll share more about the spa in a separate review, but trust me, it is not to be missed. And the on-site restaurant, Marigold, is an absolute delight. Jean-Georges' effortless style comes through in both the ambiance and the food. We enjoyed two dinners and a brunch there, and I genuinely wish I could have eaten even more. Wow. Another standout perk is the fleet of BMWs available for guests to check out and explore the surrounding area. We chose to only venture out once, to Jefferson Vineyard, but there is plenty to explore in the greater Charlottesville area for those wanting more. In closing, this hotel is incredible! Perfectly styled and wonderfully relaxing. I will be thinking about it and my lovely time there for many years to come!

When we finally decided on this hotel, mainly because it was halfway to our final destination of Pennsylvania, and it looked quite interesting, I had trouble booking through their webpage. Maybe you can blame it on me? I just couldn't quite get the system to accept the "check in--checkout" dates. So I gave them a call and booked through a representative located in Las Vegas Vegas. Everything went smoothly. She was very friendly and accommodating. We actually loved the curvy roads leading up to the winery and hotel. That portion of the trip would've been better in our roadster for sure! We were checked in by a friendly gentleman named Thomas. He gave us a room next to the outdoor pool. Finishings kind of reminded us a little bit of the accommodations. It was peacefully decorated, and mostly comfortable except for the couch. We were only using it to lounge in and something more comfortable would have been desirable. I took advantage of the dry sauna and hot tub, which was a short walk across the parking lot. We tried to take advantage of the grounds by walking around the small lake and through the fields. If they were in a dedicated walking trails, we didn't find them! We took a tour of the main house and enjoyed our French inspired continental breakfast, though croissants would've been a nice touch! The vistas from the winery and the hotel are quite spectacular! Yes, that would have worked, but I also would have missed the experience here. Being off season one cannot take in all the amenities like the pool, some of the outdoor activities, and just the ability to lounge or otherwise enjoy the surrounds while staying here. However, it still turned out to be a great experience. You need to pass through a double gate to get to the lobby. The first one would take you to the Trump Winery and the second one to the Estate itself. Yes, it is still a hotel, but it feels like a country club from start to finish. The place is small enough where they, for the most part, go off your name. Dinner reservation? Okay, here is your table. Done? There is no tab (or tip for that matter). Yes, you still need to pay for it, but it just goes on your room bill seamlessly. Want something? Just ask. From the tiny two-seat bar to anything else, service is pretty personal here. For dinner the ESTATE SALAD - Arcadian green mix topped with tomato, watermelon radish, goat cheese and golden beets dressed with Trump Blanc de Blanc vinaigrette, was amazing. My main of DUCK - Pan roasted medium-rare duck breast with cherry port wine sauce, honey glazed rainbow carrots, wild rice pilaf with estate grown herbs, was the best duck I have had in a very long time.
