LOCATION. PARKING. COMFORT. TRENDY. I stayed out here for work near UVA. the hotel was extremely comfortable and felt safe. Beds are comfortable and you can cast streaming apps to the TV. The hotel is beautifully designed and clean. There are also different food options at the hotel and in the surrounding area. Quirk cafe is connected for breakfast and lunch, or a coffee to go. It is a decent price for the location and comfort. Parking is a little difficult, but I was able to park on the street near the hotel during my stay. Valet parking is also provided during certain hours for a fee. I will be staying here again if I am in the area. read more

I stopped by Quirk during my tour of the new Charlottesville spaces/restaurants. I was mainly going in to share pictures of the hotel and amenities available. As I did not stay at Quirk Hotel, I cannot comment on service or prices. Although, I looked at prices online and comparatively they are more expensive than other hotel locations nearby. The hotel itself was beautiful and the adjacent cafe makes me want to sit in there and sip coffee and do work all day. They also had a store in the lobby (pricey) that had very cute items (similar to what a Paper Source would carry). I've attached pictures for your reference. read more

I stayed here to celebrate my husband's birthday. The hotel is beautifully decorated and a perfect spot to access great restaurants nearby. There is also a restaurant inside the hotel that is worth dinning at for dinner. They also have a cafe next door that you can grab some breakfast or lunch. They have a cute gift shop where you can pick up something for yourself or a friend/family. It's definitely a great place for a quick weekend getaway. read more

This is a review for the Quirk rooftop lounge. Decorations and aesthetic are 10/10. This place is super chic and perfect for photos. Drink: 2/10 - the king's smash was not great at all, which was sad since it was $12. My friend got the pink breeze which was better, but only a 3/10. Free birthday Dessert: 7/10 - The Panna Cotta was very sweet. I've had it in France before, and this was definitely different. The fruit really helps balance out the sweetness. read more

It didn't start on the best foot. The managers denied me using a award night claiming all the rooms for award nights were used up. I went back and forth for three weeks before Hyatt customer service said they could do it... and then the hotel was fully booked up. Arrived at the hotel. The entrance is beautiful staff seemed friendly. The mask requirements do not seem to be followed, although I understand the hotel doesn't want to annoy everyone, when it seems other businesses are not enforcing it. The hotel rooms are pretty, with pink, white, and brass being prominent. Nothing seemed to fancy. The emphasis on modern art is a bit amusing, because none of the art seemed impressive (and I'm a big art appreciator in general). The ambiance in the restaurants and bar looked nice. Ugh, so the room was 67 degrees when we arrived. I don't know who keeps their home at that temperature, but it isn't me. I tried to raise the temperature with little progress. I asked them to help me. Maintenance came relatively quickly. He was there 10 minutes and couldn't figure it out. He said he would try the central system. Nothing happened. I now have a cold after two nights there. (It is partially my fault for not having pajamas, but usually a thermostat would work in a Hyatt category four hotel). read more

Stayed at the Quirk again. Thought second time would be different, but another bad experience. Called the front desk because the blackout shade in my room wouldn't close, and they were not kind. Wouldn't move me, so I tried to get to sleep. A half-hour later, the shade literally fell out of the window onto the floor. Cue a scramble at 3~AM to get another room. read more

Oh, was this place wonderful! My friend and I went on my birthday to have some cocktails and appetizers. We didn't make reservations and went on a Thursday at dinner time during graduation weekend and still got a nice table outside! You enter through the hotel and take the elevators up to the 5th floor where you can find Quirk Rooftop bar. They have a full menu including salads, pizzas, desserts and appetizers along with fun cocktails, beer and wine. Their cocktails are pricey but no more than other nice spots with talented bartenders. Service was too notch! What a view and the rooftop seating options wrap all the way around the building. There's also space to have a private party on the rooftop too. This is a review of the Rooftop Bar and Restaurant. This place is a totally hidden gem in Cville. Very cool aesthetic. The views all the way around the rooftop bar are really nice with multiple seating areas and really great views on every side. The star of the show however was the food. This chef is on his game. The hummus and meatballs were fantastic. The burrata with pesto and homemade jam were spectacular and the Picante Pizza was spicy, savory and the crust was perfect. The stars are for staff, who were unfailingly helpful, even when there were multiple issues with our room: the room was 64º when we arrived, and three hours after turning off the AC, it was still 67º. No heating option was available - hopefully they'll fix that bug by autumn. No operable windows, so we finally ordered a space heater from Instacart to get our room up to 72º. Conversely, the first refrigeratorette was set to salmonella degrees, and the replacement wasn't much colder. Drinks were cool enough, but leftovers turned lethal. The electric window shade did not work, turning our room into a display venue for Main Street. The TV reception was variable, cutting out randomly and for hours at a time. Although room cleaning is included, our room was never cleaned unless and until we spoke to the front desk, a couple of times after 6:30 pm. The public areas were kept spotless, though, and the housekeeping staff were efficient and effective, when they were finally directed to our room. The emphasis the Quirk puts on style they should instead refocus on infrastructure, upkeep, and doubling the staff salaries. read more

We had some positives and negatives at The Quirk. First, the only negative. My wife and I checked in and were told about a happy hour that is from four to six, the happy hour is also on the website. So, today February 7th, 2023 we walked down to the lobby bar at 430 and asked about happy hour. The bartender, who took 5 minutes to greet us said there is not a happy hour while texting on his phone. I responded with the front desk said there is one from four to six. The bartender then proceeded to tell us that they lied there has never been a happy hour... Seems like a major problem. I asked for a manager the bartender said he talked to the manager and that the happy hour that is on the website will not be honored. I talked to the front desk and they said there is a happy hour and we should just ask for the prices. We asked the bartender again and were told we could go somewhere else if wed like even after showing him the website and having the front desk come over. So we went to another bar for happy hour. My question is who was the manager on duty Feb 7th 2023 at 4 pm? Second question why have it on your website, push at check in and text out the happy hour if is is not a thing?!?! The rooms were amazing, the front desk staff was wonderful and house keeping couldn't have been better. The bartender is the sole reason ill never be back. read more

My husband and I have visited Charlottesville several times and have stayed in numerous hotels, but the Quirk Is THE BEST ! The ivy art exhibit in the main lobby is magnificent, please take the time to view the work. Secondly, I love the modern, minimalist aesthetic of the hotel. Decor is simple, but sophisticated. Our room was perfect. You will get the best sleep of your life at the Quirk. I have never stayed at a hotel with electric room darkening blinds, but I'll never go back. The room was spacious for us, but more importantly, for our dog. She was the biggest fan of the Quirk and she won't let us go to Charlottesville anymore without taking her and staying at the Quirk. Quirky for sure. The hotel is fine but the service is horrible. It seems that everyone is working their first day on the job with no guidance (maybe they are). They oddly prefer not to tell you things verbally and prefer to text you messages about the hotel. Employees do not seem to know much about their place of employment, such as the time the restaurant opens for breakfast, how to get room service (they don't have any), and how to have your room cleaned. It is all a quirky mystery. The hotel is clean, the people are nice (if a touch nonverbal) and the food in the restaurant is not overpriced (but also not great). read more

Clever and unique...Have barely left the property as they have it all covered-The Pink Grouse Restaurant, Coffee Shop, Super cool Bourbon Tasting Room, rooftop bar and the lounge bar was on fire last night when I had a night cap...I was able to meet the owners who took their personal time talking with me and take great pride in making the experience special....I even saw them give up their seats to an older couple when the bar was full... This hotel lives up to its name - quirky! My husband and I booked a weekend for our wedding anniversary and we loved the location as everything was walking distance. Cool rooftop bar but drinks are just ok and was quite disappointed that there weren't any heat lamps as the fire pits are very limited. Lobby bar was better. Loved my stay at the Quirk last weekend. I'm a Charlottesville native but wanted to do a staycation with my sister. Its boutique-y without feeling kitschy or tacky and has the elegance of a higher end hotel chain (it is a Hyatt I believe) but uniqueness of a boutique hotel. It's adorable and has multiple spots you can tuck away and get a drink, snack, or just hang. Restaurant was yummy and super accommodating to my party's *multiple* food allergies (truly an amazing feat). As for customer service - this was also excellent and I've never in my life said thst about a hotel. We had a misunderstanding at booking about a roll away bed and Joan from quirk more than made up for it - really really appreciate her. She that made me feel valued and not just a rando guest. We loved everything about our stay - highly recommend if you are looking for a cute boutique hotel experience. read more

If you are looking for a venture with a loved one Chick-Fil-A might be a better option. after initial excitement we got seated relatively quickly and got a drink and ordered an app. 45 minutes later the only person to come in Our path was the manager but that was 30 minutes prior. We had no water fill ups And never saw our waitress. After about an hour we got our apps And enjoyed that but still had to wait another 20 minutes to actually place our dinner meal after asking for our waitress. Being as polite as possible, after waiting for over an hour, we got our meals ordered. After another hour of waiting we finally had our food. None to my surprise a disappointment. I ordered a burger which actually was descent however it was the side that perturbed me. In brilliant fashion they placed a bag of sunchips on my plate. No where in my life have a gone to a restaurant, ordered a meal and gotten a bag of chips. It was at this moment that the compelling decision to either fill our bellies or leave was made as it was after 10 and we had arrived over 2 hours earlier. We quickly agreed to eat and leave because nothing else was open. We then had to seek out the waitress as she had not been back around and got our check. I am thoroughly disappointed all around. First off service was garbage, and the food was mediocre at best. The experience bought us a fat ole $80 loss for dinner and drinks. That doesn't even begin to talk about watered down $13 margaritas over all your restaurant will not be one I come back to. I regret paying full price For your services as I could have paid $40 and gotten quality service, good food, and a better environment. Review for the Rooftop Bar alone The staff here were very kind, and the whole place was well decorated, clean, and pleasing to be in. I purchased the shrimp taco starters and an Old Fashioned to drink. The drink was nice and the tacos tasted good, but overall it was a let down. The tacos were small and there were only two for $12. The Old Fashioned was made well and there was a good whisky selection and ended up costing me $11. Everything was served in cheap feeling plastic cups and plates. For the price and atmosphere I just expected more. In sum: food and drink are fine, but without a doubt not worth the price read more

We cannot say enough about our quick overnight at The Quirk Hotel, Charlottesville, VA. From check-in to check-out, the staff was attentive, friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable and strictly adhered to Covid safety measures. Our rooms were beautiful, extremely clean, quiet and the beds ... could have slept all day! We dined at the Pink Grouse with our daughter who has a gluten allergy. The chefs took the time to meet with her personally and review her dining options which included everything on the menu except two entrees. Our party of four tasted a number of different appetizers and entrees. Each arrived hot, was delicious and well portioned. Servers were on point all evening! Before leaving the next morning, we visited the coffee shop for what turned out to be food and coffee beyond our expectations. My daughter's GF blueberry muffin was so good that she questioned if it was truly GF (it was)! A cinnamon bun to rival any of grandma's recipes and the egg paninis were a great way to start the day. After check out, we walked around C'ville for a bit and even considered checking back in for another night. Needless to say, we will be back!! For the second time in four days, the rooftop restaurant refuse to honor their burger week advertisement and would not serve us burgers. As we were leaving, we were met by manager Eric, who not only got us our burgers but served us personally. Five stars to manager Eric. He couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. We've stayed at Quirk hotel in Rva so we are familiar the quirks of this hotel chain (i.e mediocre service, ok rooms/price point ratio, disappointing food). Even so, we decided to stay a night at the new C'ville location- it couldn't be worse than our Rva experience. Well, it was. We stayed in the Loft for our RVa and did the same for our C'ville stay. We called into the Cafe to order a large breakfast and my husband picked up or order. Eager to eat we dug into the food only to discover: 0/2 of our order of bottled waters; 1/2 our order of OJ; 0/1 oatmeal; and 1/0 nice hair curled into our bacon order. How did management handle it? They called my phone (the room phone wasn't working - this goes to the "ok room to price point ratio" issue) to tell us nonsense. Specifically: the cafe folks said we received the oatmeal, they were out of bottled waters though they never shared that bit of info with us at any point, and they don't know about the hairy bacon. So her response was to apologize weakly and refund the items we didn't receive! Quoi? After talking some more she comped us the breakfast that we did receive. It was tasteless bland food anyway. She was service oriented enough to comp us some bottled waters - so we were hydrated. And we did get our booking shifted a day earlier than we had booked it - my error, but great service on their side. Even so, the negatives outweigh the positives for me here.
