I was amazed by the variety inside and just the options for that perfect gift or something for yourself, too. They had clothing, mementos, cards, games, books, home decor, jewelry, gourmet foods, journals, and so much more. They have a lot of items with quotes that I love, including one with Jim Valvano's message. They even have a gift-wrapping section to wrap your purchase. Whether you're shopping for a birthday or just want to treat yourself, this local gem is a must-visit in the Village. I will definitely be back!

They even carry oil paintings from local artists, one of which is now a delightful addition to our holiday decor. I also noticed a nice university gear section - we just have to figure out what side we're on. Whether you're for Pack, Heels, or Devils, there is a particularly posh selection of college gifts here. I like their people too. They'll hold all your stuff for you when you came for one thing but keep browsing and picking up more. I first found Homebody's during a Ladies Night on White as I wouldn't have stumbled onto it on my own as the entrance was in the back. But the unique items in the store were enough to bring me back. Besides the shop, in which you will find candles; stationery; clothing; baby items; items for the home; self care; and much more, they also offer workshops so you can learn some new skills. Hm, this store has a bit of a misnomer. The stationery section was actually pretty small (compared to say Papyrus or even Cameron's in Chapel Hill), and tucked in the back corner. Looks like you can engage them to do special-printed invites/letterhead and other items, but what they have on-hand is actually not all that much. Besides paper goods, they had Kate Spade planners and accessories, candles and incense, a large selection of Vera Bradley, and random gift-y items like dog collars, paperweights, and lotions.

I had a fantastic experience at Hunt & Gather. My friends and I decided, on a whim, to go check out…read morean antique store. We stumbled upon Hunt & Gather on Yelp and went. This store is pretty big inside; you would never know it by looking at it from outside. It is filled with treasures both big and small. Like any antique store (or like most), it is a bit crowded with items. Personally, I like that. You really are 'hunting' for treasures here. Yesterday I found this beautiful trinket on the floor of a booth...I would have never found it had I been in a rush. I highly recommend you take your time here. Google reviewers seem more critical of Hunt & Gather and its staff...but personally I had a very different experience. On Google, people wrote that staff was following them, being rude, and that this place was overpriced. Now...your mileage may vary...but I found the staff to be extremely kind. They would check in on me a couple times just to see if I needed help, but largely let me do my own hunting in peace. I think some items are certainly pricey and I can't quite understand why, but by and large I found the prices to be competitive. For example, you can get an entire Noritake china set (with 12 settings!) for $450. Anywhere else this could go easily for $700+. You can buy some dupes at HomeGoods for sure, but HomeGoods aint that cheap -- and I'd argue some of the pieces here are priced even more competitively than HomeGoods. I bought 3 chinoiserie vases/jars yesterday (at ~$30 a pop) and am soooo enamored by them. All in all, I'd recommend you swing by especially if you're furnishing, or refurnishing, your home. There are some really nice things here....and I think I may come by every now and then just to see what's in stock!

We were trying to find a gift shop to help commemorate our trip to Raleigh. It turned out to be a…read moredifficult feat. I found this one last second with about a half an hour before closing 11 minutes away from us. So we sped off get there in time. When we got there and walked through the little pink door, it was the cutest little shop. So my friend is visiting from Scotland and we wanted to get some kind of necklace or piece of jewelry that matched. They have a great selection. We opted for some lava rock bracelets that help with communication, truth, and strength. I grabbed a little shot glass that said North Carolina on it because I have to have a trinket from every trip I make. When we were checking out, she said that somebody wanted to donate a basket to somebody that they had bought and wasn't gonna pick up so we ended up getting a free basket from Krystal! That was the sweetest thing. We were like two little school girls opening it up and dividing all of the little snacks inside. So thank you for making the end of our trip wonderful!!

The store owner, Jeremy Person, stated that he had no control over orders arriving late. He took zero accountability for the delay, and he took zero accountability for the order being incorrect when it finally arrived. I do not understand the positive reviews of this business. While the sales people at the store are very friendly and the furniture they sell is high quality, we had a terrible experience with the people that deliver and put together the furniture. When the crib was initially delivered to our home, it was too large to fit through our small doorway to our nursery so they brought it into the nursery in pieces and built it there. Unfortunately, when we were moving out of our home a few months later, we realized they had used power tools to put the crib together and stripped the screws so badly that we were unable to take the crib apart to bring it back out. When I called the store, all they did was say they would order new screws for us. I was on my own to take out the screws they had stripped and take apart the furniture. It was a nightmare but luckily I was able to do it. I really wanted to love this place and had a great experience initially but the delivery and installation was horrible and they did little to resolve the problem. If you shop here and buy furniture, just be sure to check the screws before they leave so you're not stuck in the same situation I was!

I visited Bernina World of Sewing this afternoon after having a difficult time with my new sewing…read moremachine, Bernina 590. Lynn Turner, an employee, was there to help me figure out what was causing the problem. She went through step by step in the sewing process of my machine and discovered that my needle was bent and it was as simple as that. She put in a new needle and it worked! I was so sure that something complex was the cause, but no!! Whew!! I love that store and have learned a lot with their classes and of course asking many questions when I visit. Thank you Lynn!!
