This place is so far off the beaten path even the trusted GPS on my phone failed me. Entering in the physical address will get you close, but you will need to drive another 1.5 miles once you've "reached your destination". You won't be able to miss the stone and iron rod gate marked as The Southern Barn at Neely Farms. It's a gravel road downhill so take it slow. Parking will be to the left, the barn and pond will be to the right. Just before the barn is where I performed the outdoor wedding. The sunset with live music being performed and the trees and pond as a background made for a gorgeous ceremony (and no, not just because of the guy in the black suit leading the whole thing). The Barn itself is not only beautiful, but massive in size! The outdoor patio area wraps around three sides, with the pond facing side turning into a porch with rocking chairs. Inside is the changing rooms upstairs, plenty of floor space on the ground level, and a back barn door that opens for carters and such. There is little needed for decor as the woodwork on this place is all the eye needs to behold. If you have a special day coming up, give them a call.

They stayed in cabins on the property. Getting there requires some patience. From the street, you turn into a dirt road that seems to go on forever until you see the lake. The ceremony was on the "wedding island", the reception in the lodge and the dancing under the pavilion. The Southern food served in the lodge was good and the cakes were dynamite. There's servers were attentive. Despite having to travel an entire day to get here, I was very blessed to be at Beaver Creek Plantation.

But the hostesses were very nice, good with kids, and polite. The decor was perfect, they had face painting, games, music, it was clean, comfortable, and I could not ask for more. Lavishly Posh does all of the work, even the invitations, which turn out looking really cute. They also take lots of pictures & put them in a disc for your keepsake. All that I had to do is bring the food & cake and they set it up with warm catering trays even. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone who needs help organizing a party. I've always wanted to visit Hunter Cattle Co, but just never had the time or found another excuse…read morenot to make the 40 minute drive from Savannah. This particular day I was glad that I did. I went out there unsure of what I was going to see, but I did have a preconceived idea that it would be some big store on a farm. My idea was the furthest thing from the truth. To be quite honest, I thought my GPS was wrong, because all that we saw was some older run down buildings and a bunch of random cars parked nearby. Let me tell you how glad I am that we proceeded and walked inside. Now when I say that MooMa's (the actual store) is small, it truly is. They have a great selection of local food items like honey, jams, pasta noodles, milk, etc. The one thing that threw me though was the two smaller "ice cream freezers" that had frozen beef and pork. I prefer fresh meat over frozen any day, but I was willing to give it a shot. I loaded up on burgers, brats, and Italian sausage, but I did ask about fresh meat. They told me that they dry age all their beef, so if you let them know ahead of time before you go, they will cut it and have it ready for you when you arrive. Talk about customer service! That right there made this a five star establishment. I'll say this too, we cooked the frozen burgers and they were amazing. Not one of us could tell that they were frozen, which again backs my five stars. I'm not quite sure who the gentleman that came out of the office was, or the lady that he was with, but those two and the older gal working the store were the best. I'll drive here any day to buy my meat before going to a chain grocery store. Thank you Hunter Cattle!

Out of six or seven available varieties, we chose the Farmhouse Garlic - partially on the recommendation of the very helpful Hunter representative, but mostly cos both I and Mrs I love garlic :) The jerky is absolutely fantastic. It's tender, comes across as moist even though it has obviously been dried, and the garlic is such a fresh note that you really get to appreciate the heat that garlic can possess. I don't want to call it spicy - it's not like a jalapeño or anything like that - but it's a crisp, fresh heat like you get from a good peppercorn. I highly recommend it, and I'll be sure to give their other products a whirl as well.

They are running a fall break special for unlimited play for only $20 a person, most attractions were included (splatter room and human claw game were extra). For $20 it was steal of a deal, unfortunately they normally charge per hour for most activities. For me I know there is no way my kids will stay at one activity for an hour. I think they need to come up with more package options, maybe 3 activities for $25, 4 activities $33 or unlimited activities for $40. They do have small snack bar with drinks, beer, ice cream, popcorn, candy and other items. They have a retail area with shirts, key chains, sensory toys, hats and more. The splatter rooms are much larger at this new location. They do also have a couple of party room options. The staff was absolutely wonderful! I would definitely go back if they start regularly offering packages, otherwise it could easily become quite expensive with 3 children.
