Quinn is an awesome guitar teacher to work with. I also started lessons later, in my 50's. I've taken lessons with him for 5 or 6 years. I work and have several other commitments so I really appreciate that Quinn continually works with me to find time slots that work for both of us. And, like the other commenters noted, he finds out what music drew us to the guitar and focuses on that. Pirate music, folk music, Johnny Cash, blues, Tom Petty, stretching with passages from Chet Atkins, Quinn has not only guided me but played everything I needed to hear as examples without hesitation. We had Quinn for our late summer wedding earlier this year in Woodinville and had the best experience ever! Quinn was very professional, amazing to work with, and provided us with the best music experience possible. Even though we didn't have a wedding coordinator, day of Quinn was able to quickly sync with those in charge of when to start playing each of the pieces and quickly was able to set up and tear down. After I proposed to my girlfriend and we started planning our wedding I was put in charge of finding a musician. Quinn played for our wedding ceremony on Whidbey Island and it was absolutely perfect!! We were on the fence at first about live music for our ceremony but Quinn worked with us to figure out the songs and style we would like. Quinn gives you an extensive list of songs to choose from (we chose a lot of Brazilian jazz) and for the ceremony we chose three songs (one of which Quinn learned for us). The song we chose for Quinn to learn was actually pretty challenging and Quinn pulled it off. I have been taking guitar lessons with Quinn for 5+ years and am very happy with my progress to date. I had always wanted to learn to play guitar, and at the age of 53 I finally got started.
