There are over 20 acres to explore. A catch and release pond, large playground, canoes, laundry, clean restrooms, hiking trails all around, and firewood available for fires. Nice level sites with full hookups. They have a few cabins and the tent campsites are tucked in the trees. Here the tent campers are tossed together off to the side. One of the cabins is is overlooking the pond and very private. The owners are friendly and provided us with a small map to explore the area. Elk were all over as we drove to the Elk Visitor Center. So, one night turned into 3 nights and we have plans to stop here on our way back the first of October. Highly recommend you put Woodland Campground on your list of great campgrounds. UPDATE: just left the campground this morning! Another great 3 nights here. The color around the pond this morning was gorgeous.

The bicycle course (sign your waiver please) is huge, and there's a fishing pond. This rural spot is a great layover or a great destination. The camp store has cold drinks, frozen treats, and some groceries, but no beer/wine, so bring your own. The landscaping is lovely with huge sunflowers around the pool. On the weekends it looks like this campground has a snack shack. The bathrooms and picnic tables aren't exactly new, but the bathrooms were clean, and the staff were friendly. Yes you hear the highway at night, but yes, that means close proximity to getting on your way. Also at night, in the summer, was a gorgeous concert of fireflies. All around, this campground was a great escape.

There was plenty of restaurants to eat at in Bellefonte and the people in town were so nice as we spent the day exploring it. Bald Eagle State park is a few minutes away and definitely worth a visit. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone as the tent sites and Rv sites were amazing as well from what I saw.

They didnt give us a key or tell us where to go. They had to unlock the office again, grab my key and tell me where to drive to. The "GOOD" cabin, as referred to by the owner, was literally a 10 x 10 plywood shed up in the back of the campground. Loaded with dead bugs. Not sealed off at all. Spiders infested the place. This place had the best bed... so we were told. It was literally something that was picked up off the side of the road and placed inside. There was no fire ring. No picnic table. No benches. There is a big fat sign on the office door that says " NO CREDITS, NO REFUNDS!" We immediately packed our bags and we were lucky enough to find a nice CLEAN welcoming B&B in Wellsboro which i highly recommend doing in this scenario. The campground was NOT welcoming at all! We will NEVER go back there. Dont believe it? Have a look at some pics. Theres a reason why they do not show any pics of the cabins on their website!

Pete leveled the roads and got rid of the mud spots! The campground was pretty full and the number of bags going in, matches the volume of people there. I contacted the owner and he blamed it on someone in the apt there. The recycling was never picked up or dropped off for the entire month. Fast forward to last week. Police came in several times when the owner returned. It was apparent after seeing him with Mike's hard drink in hand in the morning, that's the problem. This guy drives the tractor then and smashes a bunch of things including a picnic bench. I was scared he was going to hit my RV when he drove it. Then he starts trying to fix the road himself (it was fine when he came back). He starts dumping dirt all over it. Pete fixes it again after that. Oh yeah the dog park, they didn't put in a swing gate so the dog park is way overgrown and they can't get a mower in. Who wants to take their dog into a tick park? Then comes Friday and we see him go outside in the morning during the daylight and take a poop outside in public (bathrooms are across the street from him). Fast forward to when we are trying to leave and he's pouring mud all over the roads. Thankfully he didn't cover the one side and we were able to get out. The campground owner needs rehab, 100%. I don't feel he's a bad guy, just stuck in a drunken stupor. This is a quiet, no-frills campground. We never had any issues with the water electric or any hook ups. We definitely did not drink the water there as we never drink campground water anyway. Sites are pretty level. It rained heavy a few times and our site stayed pretty dry. As long as the owner is not present, things are ran and look great.

We just stayed last weekend (late June) and were extremely disappointed with our experience. The campsites are close together and right by a road that loops around the campsite. While we were there, large groups of people rode their bikes around and around and around that loop while staring at us and other campers. On the Saturday night we were there a group of 8-10 tweens and teens did this for hours until nearly midnight while being decked out in glow in the dark items. Being without cell service and sleeping outside yet being surrounded by people was truly the worst of both worlds and was extremely disappointing. This should really be labeled as an RV park rather than a campground. The only upsides were the clean bathhouse, beautiful night sky, and proximity to beautiful forests, hiking etc. We will never, ever stay here again.
