By far this is the most ghetto store I've ever been in. I have been to this location twice now in…read moreboth instances the service was atrocious. The clerks are more interested in having telephone conversations and think that they can multitask by having those conversations with a line of customers in the store. I've seen people have conversations and wow that was unprofessional at least they had ear phones. These folks are carrying on video phone conversations with the speaker on so that we can hear the conversation back-and-forth and they are more engaged with the conversation then with the customers. Just today a woman that had a name tag on they said Lorna was having a conversation with many expletives going back-and-forth with the call. She seem to have no problem with the conversation as she was very loud and seemingly didn't care who heard anything she had to say. Wow I understand that the current state of affairs in finding good candidates is a challenge we still must find a set of standards in a line that we will not cross when hiring certain people. I understand that businesses are under extreme pressure to be able to staff properly. But I would argue that settling for these types of representatives hurts your brand more than it will ever help it. Making your customers believe that your store is the only one that can supply their ones is delusional. Eventually your customer base will erode because you are not showing a serious commitment to them because of the people that you employ. The fact that I have seen this with two different people at the store tells me that this is allowed And this is more of a culture issue than a rogue clerk. Do better and expect better. Be accountable and hold those on your team

M'kay, major no-no: whichever employee closed this 7-Eleven after 10PM sharp (time was 10:02PM when…read moreI arrived) and refused to let me in to purchase a single item...during a global pandemic. I'm beyond confused as to why store hours are listed as 24/7 when the cashier abruptly closed the door in my face around 10PM, and claimed the business was "closed" at that time. I assumed it was potentially related to 10PM curfew, yet when I called early this morning, I was told that 7-Eleven was "closed from 2AM-5AM". Um color me Californian, but a convenience store like 7-Eleven should be open 24/7, as specified on Yelp as well as their website. I moved from Los Angeles to Charlotte in October, but I was BFFs with the Melrose 7-Eleven employees--and that was during a city-wide LOCKDOWN. If this store is incapable of being open during its posted hours, it either needs to update opening/closing time, or hire employees that adhere to store policy. Especially during a global pandemic. Since the posted 7-Eleven hours do not reflect their actual hours, do not waste your time here. You can find toilet paper and other luxuries at Walmart, or at another store that takes business seriously.

I have been coming to this 7-Eleven for years, and throughout the major gloom and doom days of the…read morepandemic, they always had a sign on the door that masks were required. Obviously we had a little break with that but I went in tonight and out of seven people in the store, including the guy working there, only me and another guy were wearing a mask. One of the masskless customers Passed me, easily within 10 inches of my face screaming on his cell phone while carrying beer. DO BETTER! We are basically back in the doom and gloom. When I asked the employee why he wasn't wearing a mask, and this is an employee I have always enjoyed, he said he needs to be ale to 'hear people'. I also need to wear a mask for extended period of time for work as do doctors, nurses, dentist, Frontline workers. That's some BS.

Since we've moved to Charlotte we have heard over and over again about the "gas station fried…read morechicken". We finally caved and gave it a try and it did not disappoint. The woman working was so kind and she was all over every person that walked in the door. The chicken was juicy, breading was incredible without being too much, and the sides were great as well. They have both jumbo and regular sizes, as well as spicy and non. This definitely beats any fast food fried chicken. I would say to get there earlier, they were nearly sold out of some of the stuff around 630 pm. You know it's good if all of the construction workers pop in right after their shift. It's not the best fried chicken I've had, but it was pretty darn good and exceeded expectations. I'll hit this spot again before going to a fast food joint for sure!

Fried chicken from a gas station? And it's the best in town? We'll need to check this out!…read more Yes, it's a gas station and inside, amongst the counters with lottery tickets and cigarettes and coolers with drinks, there's a counter with a huge pile of chicken and fixings! The young lady who took my order put the chicken in the box with a biscuit and my side of green beans (I wanted cole slaw, but she warned me that it was a very small container). I paid for it at the register and took it with me. The main concern here is that it's an extremely small parking lot and there really isn't any other parking nearby. If you're filling up with gas (it's not cheap), that would work. Okay, the chicken. Hot. Crispy. A little spicy. Delicious. Was it better than Bojangles? Don't ask me to answer that. It was definitely very good. I'd have this again. [Review 14763 overall, 264 of 2021, number 2814 in North Carolina.]
