9.5/10 - CAVA Let me…read morestart with the good because there was a lot of it. The sour cream and onion pita chips were absolutely incredible--probably my favorite part of the entire meal. They had the perfect crisp, great seasoning, and that soft crunch that makes it impossible to stop eating. The cucumber mint drink instantly reminded me of my Spanish heritage. It was refreshing, flavorful, and paired perfectly with everything else. Now, let's talk about the bowl. I loaded this thing with just about everything they offered, and honestly... I couldn't even finish it. It was huge. Everything tasted incredibly fresh. The cabbage, lettuce, lentils, rice, chicken, falafel, roasted corn, pickled onions, and sauces on the side all worked together perfectly. Every bite had a different combination of flavors, and nothing tasted out of place. My only real complaint is that since I ordered half chicken and half falafel, it felt like the chicken portion was a little skimpy. I also wouldn't mind seeing just a little more rice, but that's a minor issue. For $19, this is one of the most complete, satisfying meals I've had in a long time. It's fresh, filling, packed with flavor, and actually leaves you feeling like you got your money's worth.

I come here now and then, whenever I feel like punishing my body for one of its many shortcomings. If I was rating this as a mexican restaurant, it'd be a 1-star for sure. However, since this is a fast food joint (and lets face it, everybody knows Taco Bell's food), I can't be as harsh. They get the food out, it tastes as good as Taco Bell has ever tasted, and the staff has always been super friendly. As far as fast food joints go, that's a 5-star. My only complaint is not really fault of the 'bell, but the people who come here. I can't tell you how many times I've stood in line (ON THE LEFT, BY THE REGISTER!) and had some brain dead moron try to queue up by the soda machines - you know, where the orders come out, you fill your drinks, get your sauces, and leave. A "line starts here" sign would probably help cater to the lowest common denominator, but every time I see this sort of thing, my faith in humanity slips ever so slightly lower. Standing in a logical line isn't rocket science, we're trained from kindergarten to do this - why is it so hard for some people?

What started as an optimistic try turned into a giant ball of disappointment. First and last time here. Drive thru at 3pm, just so you know we were the only car there, and still missed an entire order. It's not that they got the order wrong, it's that they just completely missed it. Not the end of the world, we'll share what they did give us. But that's probably our mistake- for the last 24hrs my wife and 2yr old son have had food poisoning and have been violently ill since eating here. Quality checks apparently were decommissioned when they closed down 90% of their locations.

Wait times are fairly average, though the modern corporate "fad" of running restaurants on absolute skeleton crews really shows through here. It's not the poor workers' fault, but wait times for food have gone through the roof. Even at off-times, you can expect to wait upwards of 10 mins for a fairly simple order, which wouldn't be the case if they would actually hire enough staff. That said, the staff they do have is always friendly and doing their absolute best, despite being shorthanded, so kudos. All in all, the food generally comes out fresh and hot, and I haven't had a problem with a catastrophically wrong order in a long time, so the training issues have also been resolved, nice to see!
