The street sign says Modern Automotive Quick Smog Check Center. They're across from Home Depot on Lafayette Street. Have been going to this place for smog check for about 5 years. I like that they're open on Saturdays. Didn't have to wait long each time. They offer free retest within 30 days of the first check. Nice staff. read more

The mechanic doing the smog check is a compete jerk, no customer service skills whatsoever and he knowingly charges higher than everywhere else. He knew my car wouldn't pass and still went ahead with the test anyway and charged me $160 and smugly says, "no good! I report to the dmv." I also brought my work truck in and the instant it was done with the smog he's screaming to get the truck out of there, it's taking up too much space. He was also complaining that "too many people" are coming to get smog service done. Must be nice to be that successful that you're complaining about customers. I have no idea how this place has so many 5 star reviews. Avoid this place at all costs. read more

I drive by this place every day on my way to work and so far we've taken our box truck, transit van and two personal vehicle for service at this location. From smog check to oil change to battery replacement. This has been our go to place. Friendly and the service is good. read more

Great technicians, great Service. Thanks Quick Smog... :-) . I would strongly recommend this repair shop.

Great group of guys. Very reliable and do great work. Never had a problem with this shop. Been going for a while. I take all my cars here.

After another shady smog test experience (see my reviews of A-Plus Smog -- who tried to "fail" a perfectly fine car so they could milk retest fees), I followed my fellow Yelpers to Quick Smog Check. What a difference!! Friendly service, quick, reasonably priced, and (as I expected) my car passed smog just fine. I definitely recommend this place. It is right across the street from Home Depot. read more

Fast, friendly, professional service. No reservation, no problem. James (the owner) is the MAN. Quick indeed, go to this place if you need a prompt and successful outcome for your Test Only smog situ. You won't be disappointed! read more

I would definitely go there again next year and recommend it. The whole waiting process probably took about 30 minutes, but that was fine. Only $65 for my Scion tC which I feel is very reasonable. It also helps that I passed. :P read more

Great place. Last year we had a car that would not pass and they worked with us until it did. Didn't charge us to retest either. This year we took the same car in and it passed right away. $65 for the test. read more

I have found Quick Smog to be responsive and professional. They are very knowledgeable about many types of engine repairs and always take care of the issue. I have a fleet of trucks and they service all of my trucks. I have recommended them a number to times to others. read more

Mixed results here. Had a perfect experience with no wait when I brought my Jetta in, but when I called for a quote on the 944 they said they don't do any Porsches. I'd still recommend them, but call ahead to get a quote before coming in! read more

This place is great! Fast! Professional! I went in after work and short on time, and I was greeted promptly. I asked if they could fit me in, and they were quick to get me going. Within what seemed like 10min I was all paid up, back in my car and driving away. All that even with the bad jokes I made! Great place, will be back again! read more

Super quick service , comfortable waiting area. You get what you pay for. I brought my wife's vehicle here last year and same excellent service. read more

No masks worn, and made me wait 15 minutes after saying they would be with me in one minute. This was after I left and returned because they were at lunch. Told them I was going somewhere else, and they could have cared less. Never going back here, and suggest others stay away. read more

My second time visiting this shop and I got my smog check here the other day with my brother. My accord passed but unfortunately my brother's crx didn't. Passed results automatically get sent to the DMV so you don't have to do anything. Staff was professional as far as management and office goes. Wait time wasn't long at all. I like this place because even if my brother's car didn't pass, they didn't pressure him to get things fixed there. They weren't shady and didn't try to bs for money and business. My brother and I know about cars and how to work on them, they were being honest when it came to the crx's problems. We knew it wouldn't pass, but needed paper work in the mean time while fixing it before it gets registered. Overall good management and staff, service was great both times with no issues. read more

Made an appointment to get my tires aligned, drove 35 min to get here based on a recommendation. When I got in I said I had called the previous day about alignment services. I was told the person I made my appointment with wasn't there today and "didn't leave any notes" about my appointment (yet some how they knew that I made and appointment and who I made the appointment with..?) and that they were too busy and would not see me today. I explained that I had just drive over 30min and had been told to come in at a specific time and was met with an unapologetic blank stare. Terrible customer service and extremely unorganized and unprofessional. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!! read more

Great place for a smog check and very friendly. I called just before they closed and stayed open late for me.

I felt like I was in a 'shouting match' all I did was follow what other's on Yelp did. Told the smog guy I found them on Yelp. (I did) Instead of the regular $65.00 4-26-2016 I paid $60 But at what cost? It was plain to see the smog guy (name being with held) was highly flustered at the fact I asked if I was getting a discount for mentioning Yelp. He explained to me in extremely high decibels and I mean "shouting loud" that they do not advertise on Yelp. I felt like he was trying to do some back peddling. I told him I located that business "smog only" on Yelp because I needed a smog only. Told him I read the reviews. He proceeded to tell me Yelp is constantly harassing their business and trying to get money out of them for 'advertising' do to the good reviews. He went on to remind me that their company does Not Advertise on Yelp. All in uncomfortable loud annoying tone. So what do I do? Yell/talk just as loud as he. He kept running over my words so I went down to his level and did the same. The only difference was I was not angry or mad. I don't think he liked or expected a customer to do that LOL I then lowered my voice and gave him an example. Told him if I was going to eat at a new restaurant I would review it prior to going then I would review it afterwards just like I'm going to Review my Experience with this business. It's just what we do here in the High Tech Valley. Then and only then did he say, "ok, $60.00" as he handed me the invoice. He hand was shaking. Was it from aggravation or frustration or both? I don't appreciate being Yelled at. I'm a grown adult. Had we have been in a different situation we might have boxed sucka. According to other's on Yelp I was suppose to mention Yelp for a discount. I saved $5.00 and got yelled at and it was Not Quick LOL. Just take note Mr. Smog guy. It's not my problem as a consumer Yelp calls the business you work at and asks for money for advertising as you explained to me over and over. Stop taking it out on your customers. The next time you yell it might not be such a great idea. You were lucky I was reading the book "The Secret" and in a Zen mood, trust me it spared you this time from meeting Mr. Tasmanian devil. You might not get so lucky the next time if you do that to the wrong guy. I won't be going back and neither will any of my family members or co-workers. I have already warned them. It's all about respect for The Customer. read more

This was the quickest, most pleasant and easy smog check in all my years of driving. The cost was still the same at $65 for my Honda Accord. Great service, I highly recommend that if you need a smog check and you are in a hurry, go to Quick Smog Check Center. The location is convenient also, just across the street from the Home Depot on Lafayette at Martin Ave. Check them out! read more

This place is cool with me. I've never had to wait longer the person in front of me for a smog. That with just dropping in, no appoitment. Price is the lowest around $65 out the door at time of writing this review. When you call and ask how much, the give you the out the door price (unlike other places friendly). I give them all five... read more

Quick smog service and friendly staff. I recommend this place for sure. Wish I lived more local so this could be my smog shop

The middle aged Vietnamese owner with the slicked back salt and pepper hair must have been a Vietnamese pop star back in the old country choosing only to escape that life because being nationally acclaimed, scrutinized under the celebrity spotlight was not the life for him. Instead he puts his award winning smile and skills into making your experience at QSCC the best dang smog-check experience you ever did have; all the while lying low from his former life. I truly believe these guys carry the true essence of the American dream, as red white and blue as the flag patch on James's shop shirt. FAST, FRIENDLY service at a price that neither undercuts himself, his competitors or the consumer. ($65). These are all true accounts based on first hand experience. Also just FYI, i was a fool and reset my battery a week before the test and failed because the onboard "readiness sensors" had not yet reported that the car was ready to be tested. Without a OBD2 reader you can't really know if the car has reported readiness, so I drove around for 50 miles, bought a OBD2 reader and verified that the sensors had indeed come on. QSCC gave me a free retest and I was on my way! thanks a bunch James, you the bomb. See you in 2 years. read more

Great! Fast! I called to see if it was a good time, he told me a half hour and they were starting the smog check as I was doing the paper work. Very happy! read more

Called and he fit me straight in. In and out in 20 minutes, friendly service.

Quick indeed. Just did my second test here for my 13 year old Subaru and was in and out in under 10 minutes. It is $65 (a bit more than average), but for me paying $20 once every two years to avoid waiting room hell is worth it. read more

I work for a general contractor with 37 vehicles, I've been bringing my trucks here for over 8 years and have always received outstanding service. I bring all my personal vehicles here and recommend everyone I know here. It's hard to find a trustworthy smog shop, but this one is that. read more

Great guys. I run into Quick Smog Check Center by accident because I run into issues when I was doing a home self-repair of my car yesterday. I approached Quick Smog Check Center manager with no appointment and ask him for a favor to unscrew a nut I was stuck. He immediately reacted and helped me in seconds with nothing in exchange. That is why I thought I should at least write a good review for these guys. Thank you!!! I really appreciate your help and genuine approach. read more

Great service. Prompt fast they don't waste time. They know smogging your car isn't fun so they get you in and out fast ! Five stars!

I went last weekend for a smog. I was very happy they were opened on a Saturday. I called ahead to make sure they were open, went in without an appt and was in and out. I don't remember the guys name (too lazy to find paperwork to get actual techs name) but he was friendly and fast and efficient. I had my kids with me so being able to get in and out was great. I actually came in based on the yelp reviews. Yelp didn't fail me this time. Would def return. read more

Good, fast, and courteous service. My car was an easy pass, so I don't have much to share than this.

Skip this place. They didn't send in my DMV paperwork after the smog test and my registration expired because of it. Horrible, criminal business practices. read more
