Professional photographer! Polite, give me a good price for restoring my old picture to the portrait for $30.

Photo stores should support photography and those interested pursuing it. This store has an…read moreunneeded unfriendly attitude. I'm not sure they even care about selling gear here, just interested in making the customer feel dumb. They do sell old cameras and gear, which most shops don't these days, so I have to give them one star for that. They have lots of random gear in this store. Check out "Accurate Photo Shop" in South Slope for a nice, family run business if you need film or film processing.

I hope this place closes down and a friendlier, more welcoming camera store takes its place. I had…read moreto buzz twice to be let in and from the second I stepped inside Gabe treated me like a piece of trash. I'm a photographer with a graduate degree in visual arts. I know my shit when it comes to cameras. Gabe asked, "What do you want?" and I responded that I was just looking around. "Well, that doesn't help me." He muttered at me. "Okay," I said, perplexed as to why a shop owner wouldn't want a customer to look at his products. "Do you have any large format cameras?" Gabe listed three large format cameras they had. I asked if I could see one of them and he said, "What's wrong with a high end 35mm?" He asked. Again, I was perplexed. I told him that's not what I wanted, and I already own 2 35's, and 2 medium formats. I asked again if I could see the Hasselblad. He told me I had to make an appointment to see it. Yeah, okay bud. "Like a doctor's appointment." He said. I'll make damn sure none of my other photographer friends or co-workers ever supports this place. The service was absolutely horrendous.

After winning some hours of photo help with Henk, I needed to figure out how I was going to make…read moreuse of my prize. With pointed questions, Henk was very good at helping me set clear goals around my photo storage and organization. During our first session he immediately helped solve what was an ongoing mystery about where stacks of my digital photos were stored, how to access them, and then how to integrate them into a complete library. Previously hidden from me, Henk was able to unearth my family's history and bring it back into the present. In addition, as part of the integration and upgrade to the current operating system, he added keywords to my photos so that I could better find them later, which saved quite a bit of time on my part. Henk can advise on backup planning, and organizational models, and provide customers with key guides to working with software so you don't forget how to execute the plan once he leaves the project. Henk is pleasant and flexible, willing do help with hardware as well as software. All in I recommend working with "Your Photo Assistant" for your photo organization needs. Diana K., Brooklyn, NY
