History
Established in 1985.
QMS was started in downtown Washington DC in 1985 by Ken Bell, who was and is still operating a successful courier company in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Within a couple years, Mark Gross, a bicycle courier at the time, was promoted to General Manager.
In 1996, QMS opened an office in Baltimore, MD. In 2006, we moved our corporate headquarters from DC to Downtown Bethesda. We still continue to do hundreds of deliveries each day for thousands of active clients.
Meet the Business Owner: Mark G.
Mark Gross got into the delivery business in 1981 as a bicycle courier, first as an employee, then as an independent contractor. All told, Mark worked for six or seven different companies before contracting at Quick Messenger Service. In 1986, he took on the role of General Manager and began purchasing the company a few years later. In 1997, he became sole shareholder of the company. Mark lives in Bethesda with his wife, son, and daughter.
