So I fractured my knee and my orthopedist said I needed a certain type of hinged knee brace and…read moreprobably a walker. I was recommended to a place in Fair Lawn. It was about 4pm so I knew it was late, but I called anyway to at least see when I could come in. The person was not very nice and then told me they had no appointments until the end of the following week (?!). When I asked how I was supposed to get around till then, she recommended I go somewhere else. I thanked her but I don't think she heard me as she hung up pretty quickly. I called my best friend and asked her if she knew where else I could go. She had a wonderful experience at Broadway Medical in Westwood so I looked them up and called. Now it was closer to 5pm and a very nice person name Bea (pronounced Beah, short for Beatrice) answered the phone. She was so sorry about my knee and I asked if I could possibly come in the next day (Wednesday). Her answer: Of course! When I walked/limped into the store the next day, I was greeted by another nice person named Chrystal (I hope I spelled that right). She knew I had spoken to Bea the previous afternoon and alerted her that I was there. Well, everyone jumped into action! I didn't get the gentleman's name but he got up too and next thing I know they were fitting my swollen knee with the hinged knee brace that my doctor prescribed and picked out a walker (which turned out to be very handy)! The gentleman even offered to change the wheel positioning so it would fit thru my doorways (turned out to be fine). As for the knee brace, Bea was kind and patient with me as even the slightest pressure was causing discomfort. She had to size up so I could pull it up. I was so embarrassed but she said that you can't always go by size. When I finally stood with the brace in place, I felt so much relief! I had been limping for a week after my disastrous fall and for the first time I felt steady on my feet! Now, those braces aren't easy to take off, and I need to put it on first thing in the morning and then take it off to get ready for work. The doctor's office said to get a wrap-around for temporary use. I called Bergen Medical and was again greeted with a friendly voice. I got there and tried it on and it was perfect. I told them all that I had such a good time the day before, that I was looking for an excuse to come back! Honestly? It's not that close to where I live, but I wouldn't go anywhere else! Maybe when the swelling goes down in my knee, I can go back and get another brace! And by the way, the prices are comparable to other Medical supply stores. Sorry this was so long!

What can I say? It would have started off as a five star, but I think Rob may be bipolar. He was…read morenice and accommodating when he was selling us a very expensive Med Mizer bed. As soon as we bought it, he moved on to his next customer. The installers were great. However, our experience with Rob was like going to bed with Sleeping Beauty and waking up to the Wicked Witch of the West. I got a bed extender from an online store because my husband was uncomfortable. I didn't know at the time that according to Rob, this was a mortal sin because HE sold the bed and we should have gone to him. It's bad enough having to deal with a loved one with ALS, but to be yelled at by this saprophyte didn't help matters at all. i was unaware that I wasn't allowed to get parts anywhere else. I have enough going on in my life right now without being upset by this creep. I suggest you get this bed elsewhere and for less! On New Year's Eve I had bronchitis it was 5 minutes after Franklyn Pharmacy had closed. But when I called, the pharmacist picked up. He said he would stay open until I could get there to pick up my prescription. You find big brand pharmacies doing that. I have a prescription for migraines that warehouses often run out of. They always track it down for me. I bought an elbow brace there and then wanted one for my other elbow. They had it in the store the next day. Because they are smaller, they make their own purchasing decisions. They don't have to go through layers of red tape or through corporate to get things in. The people that work there are friendly, know me by name, but respect my privacy. Whenever I call, a person picks up, not an automated voice mail system. They also have a pretty good greeting card selection so it's a good place to go when you need to pick out a card for occasions. Plenty of free parking in their parking lot. Really glad I switched to Franklyn Pharmacy, only wish I'd done it sooner.
