He is Very expensive, he quoted me $40 to fix the handle of the eye class that it's not worth $40 and when I declined and thank him.He tells me thanks for wasting my time. I went to Quick Fix Jewelry in nearby Cypress a few days ago. I had a watch with a broken crystal and a heavy silver bracelet with a non closing clasp. The owner was very friendly, and professional, and he explained to me the procedure, and the costs, to fix each item. The watch would need the crystal replaced; and, the bracelet may just need a simple cleaning so the clasp would close more securely. The owner told me that he would call me if the cleaning of the clasp, and bracelet, wasn't sufficient to rectify the problem. He contacted me only four hours later to inform me that both my watch, and bracelet, were available for pick up. I have frequented other jewelry repair shops in the Long Beach/Los Alamitos area and the service was more costly and the wait for my repairs more lengthy. However, Quick Fix Jewelry provided a much faster repair process with competitive pricing. Don't go here if you want someone that stands by their work because Jay will not guarantee his work for any length of time. My bracelet broke after 8 years of frequent wear when I took it here for repair. Jay charged me $100 for a simple bracelet repair and he even commented that the original construction was bad and that he made it better. Then the fifth time I wore the bracelet, his repair broke. He blamed it on the bracelet and he would not stand by his work. He wanted me to pay the same fee as before to re-do the repair. This place is awesome. Definitely would 100% recommend to everyone. Not only is this place quick and affordable, but the quality of the work is top notch. Brought in an old rope chain I found in a cabinet that definetly needed some work. Was going in to fix some links and give it a polish which was originally 50 bucks, but after some looking the clasp was pretty messed up too. Considering I only had 55 bucks on me I could only afford the link fix and the polish and decided to skip on the clasp and just be careful with it. We both agreed and he went on to work on the chain. He came back halfway through telling me that the clasp would definitely give me some problems so he reinforced it and didn't charge me considering how much money I had! He was truly trying to help me out and not get as much money out of me as he could. When he charged me he said I can keep the 5 and grab a drink on him. Excellent experience with Jay . I came in because of yelp recommendations , had my engagement ring resized , polished and missing diamonds fixed. The previous jeweler who made the ring did not do the best job in craftsmanship and while cleaning more diamonds fell out:( jay fixed them without asking for additional money, did a phenomenal job by checking in the settings of other diamonds and I was very pleased that he let me watch him fixing my ring. I also shortened my necklace chain and had my earrings and pendant polished and they came out looking like brand new. I went to Jay with a delicate diamond band that was cut off my finger in the ER. I took it to him in 3 pieces. He handled both the ring and myself with great care (I was a little emotional about the condition of the ring). He assured me that he would make it look better than new and even offered to repair the ring in front of me while I waited. The ring was not a cheap fix because of the detail on the band, but I definitely felt the price was fair especially since it was done in about an hour and I didn't have to leave it over night or have it sent out.
