I usually go into the store in the morning I specifically go in there to receive this lady Debbie's customer service , which has totally earned my business . I by my cigarettes there in the morning I play my numbers get my coffee and my English Egg McMuffins . It's about $22 every day that I spend at quick check . Yesterday Sunday morning I went in for the usual and I knew it was Debbie's day off. And there was an African-American lady there who seen me standing at the register and I patiently waited . After waiting for a while I approached the lady and she offended me she used profanity towards me told me to get out of the store started taking pictures of my van my license plate. Like I was some sort of criminal . I always thought that the customer had priority and preference over everything apparently not in this person's eyes she obviously has a sense of entitlement . The lack of respect that I received was like nothing I had ever experienced in my whole life I am a combat veteran disabled and I'm an older man . Try to avoid eating sandwiches in this place, it is the second time I buy and in the middle of the night I wake up with Diarrhea and vomit. the first time it happened to me I said "oh maybe it's some sauce that is damaged, and that's why my body reacted like this" but it happened again today Nov 30, in the middle of the night I woke up with diaherrea so it is impossible that it is some sauce because I did not order none. This is the average Quick Chek, but it does have a convenient location and nice parking with other businesses in the same lot. The prices will be higher than larger stores and supermarkets, although at this time what is cheap nowadays? The food and drink is OK at best and the service is decent as well. The staff is nice. The selection here isn't much for whatever reason, less food variety to choose from, no parmesan sandwiches of any type is available anymore is just one of the selections gone I can mention. However, there is enough to get you by on the go. I have not seen long lines when I paid a visit, but there were a few rare times there may be a small line of 4 or 5 people and one cashier, but you don't wait that long when that does happen. Don't they realized that people are on their way to work in the morning. They always have lines, that is my biggest grip with them Their coffee is always fresh. Good sandwiches, quick and fast! They got 6 inch subs for 3 bucks. I normally get a 6 inch and an order of french fries for 2 bucks. And then wash it down with a 20 ounce fountain drink. Only bad thing about this place is after 10pm, every time the door opens, an alarm goes off. It sounds like a schoolhouse fire alarm. They need to lower the volume on that thing because it is really annoying. Would give it 5 stars if it wasn't for that damn alarm. read more

Great food. My order never gets messed up. I would give it 5 stars but the people making sandwiches tend to take too long. I also hate the long lines on one cashier and to make things worse that one cashier wants to be chatty with everyone! My biggest complaint is that God Damn bell that rings at night. It's always a fun trip to come here with the kids either for the cool ice cream machine, sandwiches, snacks, drinks etc. The sandwiches have always prepared as exactly ordered. The only complaint I have is that there is a long line and the cashiers are slow. There doesn't seem to be a supervisor watching the line to add another cashier when the line is long. read more

At 12am last night, I walked into #quickchek (79 union Blvd , Totowa, NJ) to buy ice cream. I was undecided so I started looking at every flavor. Took me 2 mins to choose but I decided on the M&M ice cream bar. Walked to the the register to pay and there was no cashier. A QuickChek employee walked past and I asked him was he working. He looked at me and kept walking. Then I seen two employees sitting on the side of the register, conversing. I asked them if they were working and their response was, "No, I'm not on the clock yet." So they called an employee from the back to help me, but never came to the register. That's when two officers rushed in and asked me my age and what do I have in my pockets. I told the officers my age and emptied out my pockets. They asked if I had anything on me and I took off my jacket and handed it to them. They didn't find anything. Then I asked them what was going on. They said, "We received a call on a possible shoplifting, young male with a blue jacket." I told him I was a veteran and a work at the courthouse and there was no reason why I would steal anything. He then asked the employee that called it in if I was the correct suspect. The employee said yes. I looked at the young Indian employee and asked him if he seen me steal anything. His response, "Yes, you put it in your jacket sleeve." The cop replied, "but she doesn't have anything on her." The cops looked at me and asked if I'd still wanted to purchase the ice cream. I told them that I didn't want to waste my money and he said he doesn't blame me. He walked by the employee and said, " Be careful calling suspicious activity in. I just embarrassed a veteran in your store." I then walked to my car and showed my credentials to the officer. He felt so bad and offered to buy me something. I told him it wasn't their fault, they were just doing their job. He apologized over and over and told me to enjoy the rest of my night. Great work by Totowa Police. I have had sandwiches made here many times. The day shift does a good job. Can't say too much positive for tonight's shift. (4/20) Probably the worst sandwich I ever had from there. Maybe the guy should pay more attention to the order than chatting w/ people. The sub had no more than a dab of mayo, you could count the few leaves of spinach, and it was made quite sloppily. What bothered me most was that the cukes on the sandwich were water logged and some spinach was not very fresh. No food business should serve past due produce. Very disappointed. read more
