I have not been to Quick Check in close to a year. Unfortunately, I was very dissatisfied with my purchase. When I went in, I was going to get a breakfast sandwich but changed my mind once I saw that they now had empanadas. I decided to get a chicken and beef empanada with cheese. I bit into one and I just had a mouth full of the bread. I looked inside and the filling was at the very bottom of the the empanada. It seemed as though it was filled with one tablespoon of the filling for the entire empanada. It definitely was not worth the amount I paid for them. read more

I recently discovered Quick Chek and I am really disgusted with the uncleanliness around the coffee station, the soup station and the countertop where you eat. It really is unfortunate because Quick Chek has everything in a one stop shop! I hope that they get their act together otherwise I will take my business somewhere else. read more

Mislabeled food is where I draw the line. Took a big bite of my BACON egg and cheese empanada only to find it was sausage, which I can't eat. Great. There goes breakfast. The coffee area is filthy and understocked. Every morning one register is open and there are at least 5 people on line. Most of the employees are nice, in fairness, but that doesn't make up for the rest of it. This store has gone seriously downhill. Mislabeled food though? You could kill someone. read more

Why review a convenient store? Because their sandwiches and soups, especially their tomato garlic soup, are AWESOME! And for the price? You can't beat it. Sandwiches are under $5 and the big bowl of soup is under $3. Their store packed chocolate chip cookies used to be soft, but now they're as hard as a rock. Not sure what happened there, but who cares? Bottom line: I like to go here just for the soups and sandwiches. Everything else is just as overpriced as any other convenient store. read more

At around 8:50/9:00pm on 04/12/2023 I walked into the Bloomfield location off of broad street by CVS and was unfortunately greeted by one of the rudest employees I have came across today n my 2 and a half years of coming to this location. As a manager myself i am absolutely appalled by the service. I went up to the self check out as I normally do to make a purchase, the cashier walked up to me and told me to get out of the store immediately, now I've never seen this women in my life and she keeps telling me to leave and refusing my service, she said I apparently told her to go F herself which again as a manager myself I could never see myself doing that at all in any lifetime. She kept going on for me to leave, I was fed up at this point so I drove back home and sent my wife into the store to purchase the items and she as well was told that me myself wasn't allowed at all in this store which again is still not clear why, I'm sure she mistakenly thought I was someone else but I would at least like something done about this, and another note is she said is the manager? I remember speaking to the manager of this place a couple times, I'm positive that the manager is this nice young gentleman who has a very soft spoken voice, not a rude women. read more

I suppose the best part about this place is the coffee. They do rotate in fresh coffee constantly, and they have a nice setup to add a vast variety of creams and sweeteners. A few years back they had a much smaller location that they basically razed and then built a much larger store at the same location. This allowed them to offer a greater array of products, and it also allowed them to open more registers to make things even more convenient. Unfortunately, the economy has seemed to hit them as well, and they have cut back on cashiers which can leave them with longer than acceptable lines at peak times such as lunch. Overall, a decent convenience store that's a step-up from 7-11 up the street. read more

My go to coffee shop and convenient store. No Fee ATM brings me in there all the time. Sandwiches are ok and I have them in a pinch. I dont understand why they don't cut the sandwich meat per order anymore. I just hate pre-cut cold cuts. The soups are from a can and sometimes sit there for hours with people snooping in them. I typically like this quick check. It's large clean brightly lit and has a large variety of food. I tend to go there for the soup, especially the chicken noodle which is always hot, fresh and tastes homemade. But today's visit just left a lot to be desired. It was around 3pm and there were a group of five high school kids hanging out who were loud and obnoxious. I guess the loud and obnoxious could have been tolerated if they weren't cursing and speaking sexually explicit. I feel management should have went over to them and ask them to change their topic of conversation or lower than volume so that others didn't have to be privy to the inappropriate conversation. But the icing on the cake was at the end when I was online and it was growing longer and longer and only one cashier was open. Then another cashier comes to open. She was very short under 5 ft older and Asian. She rings me up and just as my credit card said approved she told me to have a nice day. I asked for a receipt. She told me it was in the bag. I didn't believe her because my credit card had just said approved before she dismissed me so how could it have printed out. I took my bag and stuff to the side and of course it was not in there. So I went back to her and said no it's not in the bag. She continues her lie by saying "oh well I'll print you out another one" and gives me the receipt which was already printed out. She didn't even have to push a button she just reached up and took it out. My question is why I lie? I don't like dishonesty and laziness like that. Between her and the kids ruining the atmosphere they need to get the manager on board quick. read more

If you haven't tried their cookies you are missing out. It sounds silly because it's a pit stop joint but ohhhhh lordddd. Hot chocolate cookies and peanut butter cookies are unstoppable. QC has good deals all year round. Right now they are selling $3 sandwiches, the size are pretty reasonable. I use to come here often when I was younger. I love quick check coffee and soups, but this store is always filthy. I went in last night to grab a soup, there were no spoons, no crackers, and the soup counter was dirty. The floors need to be swept. They have a small eating area and it was a mess, chairs everywhere, crumbled napkins on the table etc. It would be nice if they cleaned of the tables, swept the floor and straighten out the chairs. Cant believe the service in this place last few months. Cant get a fresh cup of coffee they tell you come back tomorrow. When I said "store policy is to make it when there isn't any and its requested, they called the cops on me. LITERALLY. I know covid affected stuff, but no other quick checks are in this bad a shape. I use both in clifton and the one on Valley Rd in Montclair. All clean and decent. Not this one tho. The short bald manager has something to say about everyone once the walk away. Saw a lady paying with $4.00 in change the other day, she walked away I was next he says "I f-in hate people like that" ... she was about 80 AND they have a sign hanging saying short on change. I really like Quick Chek (much better than 7 Eleven). This is my favorite QC location and I've been coming here since they built this updated store (around 2008-2010). It's large, has nice selection of stuff. Big sandwich ordering area, clean bathrooms, always fresh coffee, free WiFi, and friendly helpful staff. Sandwiches are fresh and tasty and soups are delicious. They also have an eat-in area that's recently been updated. Unfortunately my only negative is that they now have less tables and normal chairs, so when old guys come in to have their daily coffee and newspaper sit down, they basically hog the whole eat-in area for hours. I wish management would add in a couple more normal tables, or put time limit on old guys reading newspapers so other people could sit down to eat their sandwiches. read more

Designed a little better then any other Quick Check I've been to. Decent large sitting area to eat your food read a book or surf on there wifi. Pretty clean when I went at night. It almost seemed liked the go to place around 11pm because the parking lot was pretty full. No complaint just a nicer bigger quick check. Staff was nice too. read more

After seeing a bill board I decide to try out Quick Chek's Deli Section and I am glad I did. They make some good sandwiches and they are reasonably prices. You would expect sandwiches like that form a major spot. They had a screen which they give you options of types of bread or wraps, toasted,non toasted, dressings, toppings and the whole bit and then it prints out your ticket and they make your sandwich and you pay up front using your ticket and come back with your receipt and pick it up. I go to the Quick Chek in Bloomfield on a regular basis but lately I have noticed the seating area to be very messy and untidy. Sometimes the garbage is overflowing and the tables are not wiped down on a regular basis. You have to literally find an associate to wipe down the table. The check out lines are also longer than usual. Sometimes there are two cashiers, and there are 7-8 people in line. Also one of the cashiers is usually attending to lottery which sometimes takes a great deal of time.. I understand everyone is cutting back on employees and trying to get by with as few workers as possible however, one of the attractions of Quick Chek is to get in and get out as quickly as possible. If I am going to wait in line for an extended period of time, I will go to Shop Rite where the prices are much better. read more

Really fresh coffee, but they only have knock-off brands of sugar free sweenter. Fake Spenda and Fake Equal? Really? The real stuff can't be that much more expensive. No matter how good the coffee is, if the taste is affected by the fake sweeteners I won't be back. The lines are long the counter staff is slow and no one really knows how to use the lottery machine properly. Worst is the deli!! They advertise amazing looking and sounding sandwiches and have a computerized system for ordering, but very few of the counter people can get it right. Today I actually came home with a large piece of brown paper inside my sandwich. Tired of complaining, I won't be back to this place. Subway is just as close and really reliable.
